The kids being put into these videos and having them directly interacted with by the racist characters is the worst shit by far. These aren't professional child actors or filming environments, they're just throwing kids who I suspect often don't even have actual acting desire into these insane skits where they're directly being called slaves and monkeys and shit. A lot of these kids are young enough to where I can't even be confident they can separate the skit from reality, they might as well have be having them harassed by genuinely racist people. They should not be having fucking children in these videos

You mean voter ID? I don’t get how conservatives can even pretend to defend this. HB 589 in NC had house republicans literally target ID’s that minorities used with “surgical precision” (that was the wording used by the appellate court), and made it much more difficult for minorities to get ID.
I have absolutely no clue why republicans need to put up roadblocks extensively for the purpose of discriminating against black people, and then cry when they get challenged on their discrimination.
If you want voter ID, fine. Have the state mail out voter ID to everyone eligible to vote, including minorities. You won’t see *ONE* Republican supporting that. Or, create a holiday where people can go get registered to get an ID mailed weeks before elections. Or create a holiday so people can go vote. Or allow vote by mail.
And when you deny all these options cuz I know you will, just know that you’re essentially saying “it’s ok to discriminate against minorities”.

I have to disagree. It WOULD be racist if it seemed to be written by people who have SOME idea what they're doing, but the fact is that all characters act in ways that are entirely incomprehensible, in order to neatly guide the story to where it's supposed to go. None of these people can think or act like intelligent human beings (because the character is only as smart as the writer). The black characters are just written this way because it's the easiest way to write stories that are supposedly about racism, it gets more complicated when there's resistance and struggle. It's the same with all the bullying videos of Dhar Mann.

The way the young adolescent girl in this video acts could be described as pure psychopathy, or maybe narcissistic abuse. It's not just a case of an extra bratty kid. For parents who have any sort of grip on reality, this isn't the type of behavior where they say 'oh you were so MEAN to Lydia, you're not getting a car, and here's some more chores so learn your lesson.' "Marcos" totally exists as a name.
When I was in kindergarten, I knew an older child called Marcos who probably only once had "Bibas" on him. (Salted sunflower seeds, "Bibas" may have been a brand name.) Other children about my age and I used to ask him "Hey Marcos, do you have some Bibas for me?" which turned into "Hey Bibas, do you have some Marcos for me?" at some point. For what felt like a long time, he never had any Bibas (or Marcos, haha) on him. But one day, he again had Bibas on him and gave some of them to us younger children.
I would have guess that Marcos was from Spain or at least spoke Spanish. (Given that this was in Bern, Switzerland, in the very late 1980s or very late 1990s, Spain was pretty likely his place of origin.)

Ya know, watching your first Generation Hope type video can be an amusing first watch because of how hilariously stupid it all is. But after watching your subsequent reactions to other GH videos...this just starts to feel..."gross". Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not "clutching pearls" over here. But there's an uneasy feeling that starts to dawn on ya after going through a couple of these videos. Like, they've perverted the ideas of "doing the right thing in unjust situations" and "bad people get what's coming to them" so much that the video's intention is ultimately is lost and you accomplish nothing at best. And at worst, just make shit more problematic.

Sure, she's probably not racist in real life but in these racially charged times I feel like some would see her decision as a reveal of character and possibly retaliate.

@@AbMaSync According to Google Books Ngram Viewer, the once-overwhelming predominance of "Christmas time" dwindled in the latter half of the 20th century, with two spellings' respective levels of usage converging in the early 1990s - and "Christmastime" briefly pulling ahead by slimmest of margins in 1995. From the late 1990s to the present, "Christmas time" has again been more common, but only slightly.
