    bill you the man. i didn't realize it was you on here too until i just came to revisit this video after receiving my 5821 jx servo. but you helped me a lot deciding on what first truck to get for racing on the rcgroups forum. just wanted to tell you thanks for your post about the 4x4 sct's scores I ended up picking up a used team associated prosc 4x4 thanks to you and im upgrading it to be my first racer. got a JX 5821 server today thanks to this video too lol

      @@billdelong thanks, so far so good. I started with a helion avenge sc10 i bought on amazon for $200. great truck for the money but i ended up breaking the front skid plate within 3 days and it's is a mounting point for the steering turnbuckles and now it wont steer straight. can't find any parts for it hardly so HobbyTown ended up giving me a full refund since Helion went under and I ended up getting the ProSC 4x4 used as per your recommendation on the RCGroups forum page about the best SCT's to start with. Ironic that I found this video after searching for a decent servo upgrade for it and realized it was you as well so I had to make sure to say thanks lol! So far I like both the truck and the Servo and will probably be buying a faster JX one when I get better on a track. I've got a bunch of upgrades coming for the ProSC which the sway bars were impossible to find unless you search for Thunder Tiger sway bars on eBay and order them from Germany. It should be a force to be reckoned with when fully upgraded though.

    I'm running a coreless jx 32 kg. It is super smooth, quite, and plenty torquey for my SCX102. Metal gears, aluminum body, and waterproof for $62 U.S. definitely recommend.

    Just got back from testing my new JX 5821LV servo compared to the stock xp digital ds1903 my prosc 4x4 came with it's night and day. the seller did botch the description I thought i was getting a hell of a deal on a coreless 0.11s4.8v - 0.09s 6v (new to the hobby) but in reality it is a 0.18s 4.8v - 0.16s 6v cored 2bb. I guess they put the description on from the more expensive JX 5830HV on the ad but in reality it's a JX 5821LV. Even still it's lightyears better than the DS1903 specs are 0.15s 6v @ 3.8kg - 50oz. I think I gained like 200oz or 16kg of torque compared to the stock. I'm going to try racing with it and see how it does. I'm going to also see if they will send me the 5830 that I thought I was getting.

    • @billdelong
      @billdelong  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Savox is considerably louder under the same load and also pulls more power under the same load and also runs hotter temps under the same load.

      Savox may be loud and power hungry but no one can question their power out put or durability

    • @HeliModTRC
      @HeliModTRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Savox is faster, because the Savox has a speed of 0.8 seconds with 6V. The JX has a speed of 0.8 seconds at 7.4V. JX is a HV servo. It may therefore have a speed equal to or even higher than 1258. The important thing is to supply the appropriate voltage .

I would make it a point to periodically inspect your servos for any slop starting to form, I have had to replace the gear sets when running these servos in 1/8 cars, the gears last considerably longer in my 1/10 cars, no idea how they will wear in a helicopter.
