Then why introduce carbon tax? South Africans are paying the price signing international treaties like Paris Accord on Climate Change and high interest rates on borrowing money from IMF and World Bank
One question that would have been interesting for the Nersa official is to ask if the large increases imply that Eskom is increasingly becoming inefficient. And if the prices are primarily based on efficiency, Eskom can't justify the large increase requirement by citing non-payment because that's not a production cost. Eskom wants those of us who pay for electricity to pay for those who refuse to pay.!
