  • I do the measurement of 2 scans merging together with CR Scan Software. So the error induced from merging will be shown in this test.
Raptor max error = 0.05 mm (50 um)
Otter max error = 0.11 mm (110 um)
Please not that method I use only give approximate error value. The correct way is to scan standard steel block and measured with a micrometer.

Fa-rout at 7:00 the wireframe looks really incredible.
Please ramp that up to full 0.02mm scanning.
You have a 4090 GPU, that could easily handle 10,000,000 polygons.
Your videos are starting to get mind blowing now.!

Thank you for your work. I'll get my first scanner tomorrow. Raptor)

Try and create a laser scan using all of the Raptors features to their fullest.
    Max it out!
    You have a 4090.
E.G try and create a scan with 10 million polygons, or there about.
I do speak for myself, but I’m sure I speak for others, I really like to see your wireframes.
The geometry soup does look uniform.
I’m betting that is because the 4090 can do tighter maths, using Tensor cores.
Look up the meaning of tensor.
Amazing people helped us have this technology. 😊😊😊
Hardware that does maths crazy fast😑🙂

It looks like the Raptor has a much larger field of view when in laser mode, compared to the Otters field of view in marker mode.

    Oh you’re awesome!
It would be cool to pick up a 23 hole precision measuring tool.
I’m betting the scanner would have a really hard time scanning it, as it’s so three dementially symmetrical.
Maybe use random markers when scanning it.
Scanning something with a known dimension, is a true way to judge the accuracy of the scanner.
    Food for thought.
Thank you so much for sharing this content with the World.
You are helping me decide between the Otter and Raptor, and no one else is in the world.
    So much appreciated.

From what I see the raptor is very accurate for the price in marker/laser mode. But the otter is much better in markerless with its wider field of view. If possible could you try the scooter or similar with the raptor...if you think it will even work. The chair scan was not very good with the raptor....just wondering if it can handle larger objects either markered or markerless.

I'll try Raptor NIR with markers to see how much detail it can produce.
