We're off to Raiatea next month. Thanks for an informative video, I'll certainly wander down to the swimming area. I'll also check out your other videos.

You’re going to love the island. But like I said, if you want the pristine beach experience, get to one of the nearby motus (little islands).

@@welltravelledlife Just to let you know we did a truck tour to the UNESCO World Heritage Site on Raiatea and then we walked to the swimming area to explore, a pleasant 3 mile stroll.

@@angelahorton5745 I'm so glad to hear that you had a great visit. A 3 mile stroll can be long if it was hot. We had really nice weather whilst there, so the walk was lovely. I'm really glad you made it to the UNESCO site - the historic and religious significance of the morae are so important. Where's your next trip got you headed?

Can you get an excursion to a Motu at the port or do you recommend you book one online, ex. Viator.

You can definitely get a motu trip once you’re on the island, but if you’re on a large ship, or just want peace of mind that you’ve got something scheduled, you can book directly with aretours-raiateatahaa.com/. Their website is in French, but there’s an e-mail address you can write to. They are also one of the companies you’ll find on Viator. You’re going to love this trip!
