Happy to see Infinite again! This song is so catchy and I really like the mv for it too because it plays a lot with mirrors and reflections being different members for each other. In the live stages they would swap between Dongwoo and Hoya doing the solo dance break; in the dance practice they both do the same thing but iirc in the lives they would freestyle a bit off that base choreo for it. I've always really liked that very "infinite" sound that they've always had with the orchestral strings but more trap/electronic bass. Beast was a group that also used string sounds in a lot of their songs (not much nowadays in their Highlight songs since the no longer have their rapper/producer who made most of their Beast songs) but in a different way. Honestly I feel like if this song was released now it would be so popular! Time Difference from their latest album has a very classic Infinite feel to it.
I almost did the MV too, but we all know how awesome their lives are, it ended up having to be done! haha! I have had a song or two for BEAST, I really should go back to them...I agree, I think this song would have been a massive hit, it would be trending all over TT
This video reminds me how much I want them to release another instrumental album with Bad, back, last romeo, sonagi and other newer songs instrumentals. Origin is such a gem, so I want another one.
Always love when you do Infinite!! Thank you!! You're absolutely right about the fresh textural elements! A lot of people will try listening to them and say "Oh, this is such a typical gen 2 sound," and that always throws me for a loop because Infinite was *constantly* taking risks that set them apart sonically from their peers... to the point where fans would debate whether they should leave their signature sound for a more mainstream one!! But I'm glad they always held onto something genuinely "Infinite" even when they did slightly more on-trend tracks like Bad, and the instrumentation/samples as well as their unique vocal style always kept it unique.
you know what BAD got a 360 VR version MV which is the first even in Korea in 2015! you can use the youtube app to try by moving your phone to see different angles!
Infinite's live is always amazing and they also have a lot of legendary dance performances at the award shows. I would also highly recommend some of Sungkyu's s solo songs such as True Love and Kontrol.
2nd Kpop Gen is the blooming era. They do everything, they try everything pop up their mind, not only Infinite but all ent companies, the competition between them í realy strong. You saw hundred idol groups established each day and so on the numbers get lost, so that just the most talented can survived. That why we have heyday of kpop, the style was disversity, the vocal, dancing… Ppl think 2nd gen most focus on EDM but no, edm is one of things they try. We had orchesta, strings musicial, edm, rock, band, ballad, coroporation bw companies, sub-units, and Idol shows. Wwow, Idol shows at that time was a big thing 😂😂😂 the interaction between boy and girl idols will be a scandal according today standards 😂😂😂
I do remember hearing that anything co ed was pretty frowned on, its true! there is some EDM but its not everyone, Infinite themselves really have quite a unique sound all their own as well, and honestly their talented enough have raised their status above most others back then

haha! the funny thing is I dont even have like super crazy headphones, I use Skull Candy Heshs, I think they costed me like 50$ on clearance. my ear buds I use at work are probably better LOL! but over ear headphones are so nice for listening, it just allows for more

Infinite, not unlike Dreamcatcher, bucked trends and really stuck with their style rather than going with sounds that were popular at the time. They stuck with a mix of orchestra+electric guitar+80's synth, even when they started mixing in dubstep/trap/EDM still managed to keep the signature in there. Honestly, I was disappointed with "Bad" when it came out because it was one of the least interesting titles they had released at that point. If they had exchanged the strings for an EDM-based arrangement (EDM was truly huge in 2015 Kpop), I would never listen to this. Good thing they stuck with the strings😂

I agree, I am so glad that Infinite decided just to be Infinite, the EDM phase in KPop was a bit of a double edged sword but yeah, I am with you there
