that squash-hit based orchestral hit sound is genius, but also the reverse....Scaler EQ as "playable instrument" is intriguing! I think you just invented a new form of synthesis ;-)
To make this tool even better it needs more scale choices, not only Equal Temperment (which is mostly out of tune). Sounds in nature are mostly in Just Intonation, where frequencies are in direct proportion to the fundamental. These resonances create real musicality.
You can enter in any notes chromatically on the keyboard to create your own scale and whilst there is no current microtonal support, devs have discussed tuning offsets. Hope that helps.
16:03 I notice when you pick band 6 its key is Amin/C different from the detected key. Does this mean that it affects the frequencies different from band 4 detected key? This is a little confusing for me.
Hey @Noldy very good spot and sorry for the confusion, that was indeed an oversight and incorrect (I must have turned Global off at some stage prepping the content). Fortunately it's just Band 6 in which I am notching out minimal stuff over a boost very high up the frequency range so actually it's not having any real audible effect.
Are the "Mastering with Scaler EQ" and "Scaler EQ on Effects bus" interchangeable? You are effectively using it on all the tracks bounced together in one bus in both examples. I tried both, the effects bus example on my master-effects bus, and then the "mastering" one on a single master track and and it seemed redundant, nothing for scaler EQ to do the second time.
Yes but on the FX Bus example Davide is attenuating from the 'wet' signal only so that would be a different application to the rest. In terms of his mastering example, sure it would work on individual tracks. YMMV.
@@geezerdownunder Are you not familiar with the iPad version, called Scaler 2? I have since downloaded and installed Scaler EQ, which is a separate app that is just about unusable.
I might be doing something wrong but I noticed when I use scaler eq with additive harmonics there is like a 1-2 decay on the notes its adding, like a resonator, which means that anything short and staccato it becomes blurry? is there a way to make it not do this?
Hi Jon, what you are hearing is post filter decay which is normal when using several notches particularly around the bottom end, it will happen on any linear phase EQ. It's not particularly problematic as it is not smearing or adding anything harmonically. You can turn on Smart Mode in the settings which will reduce this at the expense of a little filter accuracy or better even use the dynamic compressor. Finally you can reduce the amount of notches or the amount of cut / boost in the area in question (usually bottom end). Hope that all helps. @@SchoolofSynthesis The onscreen keyboard doesn't respond, the only thing I can hear is whatever sounds are picked up by my earbuds microphone. I have my Korg Nanokey Studio plugged in and the app doesn't respond to it.
@@SchoolofSynthesis I already have it. Is it intended to be installed within Cubasis 3? If so, how? I have looked at everything in Cubasis 3 and can't find any mention of Scaler EQ. I have Scaler 2 installed.
Hi @thomasfokas, Scaler EQ performs just like any other minimum phase zero latency EQ. What you may be hearing is post filter decay which is normal when moving several narrow notches around particularly in the bottom end. There is a 'smart mode' to minimise this in the settings which comes at the expense of filter accuracy hence it 'off' by default. Being able to filter out a frequency to Mono is AWESOME but this plugin is utterly priceless all around..
Phenomenal sound design tool , love how you flipped t.he characteristic of the rain , and turned it into a celestial shower of granular synthesis. 🤯
That's insane, making foley music.
I use a lot of field recordings in my music. This is going to be fun.
Sound design demo is awesome! Looking forward to exploring the plugin more! 😎
I enjoyed making it, and I love that section too. Thanks for feedback ✌

Love this plugin, so easy to use and sounds great in every application!

Yes, microtuning options would be awesome.

Have the chord inversions in the guitars chords section ?
Is it going to be available in the iPad version of Scaler 2?

@@geezerdownunder What do you think Cubasis 3 is? I have several DAWs for my iPad. Scaler EQ is a standalone, not a plugin, as I understand.
Will this be released for iPadOS?

The link in the description to the EQ isn't working, cool tool indeed
Fixed now thanks @DJeMo
using it in Serato Studio and not getting any sound output :(
They should add a built in limiter into scaler eq
The DEVS have discussed input / output controls on the next update Q1 24.
Builtin in Input and Output limiter now in Scaler EQ 1.1 Update
👍🏾
Will Scaler EQ be available to use within Cubasis?
Scaler EQ iOS is on the way!
@@SchoolofSynthesis Excellent! Thanks! :)

Sounds like the eq is adding a weird, ugly phasing effect
