The G4 and the Marshall Jackhammer (overdrive setting with contour knobs pegged opposite each other) are the 2 best overdrive / distortion pedals I have owned. They sound incredible through a Fender (clean setting) amp. Great demo!
sounds good! 11 years I've been watching your vids and they never get old. the best channel to hear gear and one of the best guitar players that can also make great videos!
Great to see/hear what the knobs do, as you lopped and tweaked. Very informative, and something to use for other demos too. Great work as always Pete ! Cheers from Stockholm
Great riff and tune you put together for this demo! Revv G4 pedal sounds great...of course, it's Revv! Looking forward to your live stream! Happy Sunday man!
3:14 These Revv pedals still have an "issue" with the audio signal cutting out/dipping significantly for a split second when engaged. I thought it was a defect with my G3 unit but apparently they all do this. Sold my G3 for various reasons, including the issue I just mentioned and due to it not taking boost/OD pedals in front of it well, so I guess I'm glad to hear the G4 is better with boost pedals. They definitely sound good in demo videos but I never got along with mine (even through various amps). Just wasn't my thing I guess.
patrick.cs I had no issue. I have both. I sold g3 due to having too many pedals and too many bills. Bills come first. G4 going next. The first time I’ve lowered a gain knob though. In my opinion only, I think there’s a ton of gain there. But everyone’s different. I put it in with a slight crunch in my amp. Maybe that’s the difference.
I have the Revv G3 on my board and love it! it has less low deep chug than this one and is very tight.. so not sure I would need this one.. but would love to have it anyhow.. haha! by the way Pete.. saw your brief encounter w/Ola on his NAMM video.. he's a great guy and his vids are fun.. but you are hands down the best gear reviewer and all around guitar related YTer around.. thanks hombre!
As I listened I was reminded of my Blackstar TVP 60 amp. The sounds as you swept the controls totally reminded me of the sweep ya get with the TVP 60 on the ISF knob that allows ya ta blend Am.Tube & Brt.tube sounds. The pedal sounded more pristine yet I see the same tones. Blackstar Rocks!!!
Great demo, Pete! Some channels start to get old, and sound pretty much the same with each new overdrive/distortion demo, but you manage to keep your videos sounding new and fresh practically every time.
Awesome Demo Pete! Wow! That solo was sizzling. I can only wish to be halfway as great of a player you are one day. As you were playing, I was hearing extra melodies in my head. I just haven't figured out how to play them yet. The music from this demo will be in my head for a day or two.
Hi Pete. Hope everything is going great with you. Another killer , inspiring tune you put together. I'm pretty sure I saw you using a couple of new techniques during the solo . . . ? Anyway , thanks again for sharing your skills and knowledge. 🎸🎵🎹🎵🎸
Hi! I used to play with a blackstar Ht-dual, and recently I’d purchased the Revv G4, but I notice that I lost the warm tone from my blackstar, is there any way to incorporate that warmneas into this Revv??? I have tried putting the Blackstar in front of the Revv, but It doesn’t work quite well, or at least not as I expected to. Please some help?
As a novice with pedals, would this G4 pedal be a waste to run through my Peavey 6505+ 112 Combo? The amp is brutal with my Pro Tone Deadhorse Deluxe Overdrive. Other distortion pedals just sound lame. I'm just not quite sure if the 6505 is not the correct amp. The clean channel is not great at all. Is that the best route for distortion pedals? I feel like I probably need a different amp with pristine cleans to run proper distortion pedals. Ran up front and not in the loop right? Please help.
It really depends, I have a Peavey valveking combo I picked up for cheap and it doesn't take my G3 as well as my Peavey bandit or my other tube amps. With the Peavey valveking it has a lot of gain so I basically turn back the gain on the G3 and VK, utilize the toggle switch to enhance what I think sounds good it's not as easy to dial in as opposed to hitting a good gain channel with a HM-2 type pedal or rat style pedal. That said my favorite usage of the Revv G3 so far is on the Bandit with a compressor and noise gate. As far as the G4 I really do think It'll have more gain and range than your Deadhorse Deluxe but likely a different character completely. What's cool but not really mentioned about the Revv series is how well it works in any application. I have been running the G3 as an always-on for rented rehearsal spaces equipped with amps like Bugera and SS Fender/Marshall and it adds balls/edge to my other dirty pedals for the most part for even more tone experimenting. That said I do not think it will be a waste of money and maybe the G4 + Deadhorse combined WITH a 6505 is satisfactory to your ears. Hell I'm still thinking about getting a G4 and I just got the G3 lol. Hopefully this answers your question.
You might be pushing that amp too much with some ODs...probably compressing too much depending on how you have the settings on the amp. I've read some reviews saying it can take a while to really get into that amp and get the most out of it. Definitely you would not run this through the loop unless you want to eliminate the pre-amp circuit of the Peavey...but experimenting is the best way to find "your" tone...have fun with it. Different OD pedals will give you different harmonic overtones...for sure running them through a nice clean amp with plenty of headroom might get you the results you're looking for.
I could totally hear dUg Pinnick singing over this awesome track! He'd be quite satisfied with your bass track to leave it alone. ;) Pedal is very nice!
When we're hearing the out of the mix tones, are we hearing what is in the song? I'm just curious if you do much in the box eq in the track and if we're hearing that as well. Great playing and video as always dude. Love from Canada :)
Pete your are a true inspiration. I love your playing and your channel, I started my own TH-cam channel as I would love to inspire others. Any support would be very welcome 😎
Hey, I have a Revv G4, but I think it sounds like shit, but in yiur video, it's sound like god. Can someone help me ? Is it the gear ? Maybe standard tuning doesn't fit with ? Do I need a gear like him to get it as cooler ? Need help, like the tone is too high
@@soockamasook2001 nice, so how does the pedal sound now? is it good? I'm thinking about getting a g4 these days but I'm not sure, the price is... something haha.
Thanks Pete! Love the baritone action.
That is a badass pedal... Great review from Mr Badass himself. 🎸🎸
Thanks guys!

Almost done building one of these puppies! Stoked to try it out, everyone seems to love it so I'm sure my sheep brain will love it too 🤣
Sounds great as always!
Love the sound Pete, but love your solo even more!!!!!!!!!!!!That sound was just absolute killer with the delay and your whammy bar useage.
Thanks!
That first riff ..I can hear Chris C just belting out a ohhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh.. miss him dearly, great jam .
Great to see/hear what the knobs do, as you lopped and tweaked. Very informative, and something to use for other demos too.

Great demo ordered a used one today
Amazing review! Hello from Guatemala
Awesome demo
Woaa.. nice Baritone sound! I think this is my first time seeing you played Baritone danelectro...
Good demo Pete. Thanks.
This was awesome! More heavy stuff like this!
A pedal to the Metal! Your baritone guitar sounds rather bright with that bridge lipstick style humbucker.
So many sweet guitars!
Pete awesome playin as usual. And that Yaron guitar sounds sweet and is incredibly nice looking Thx for all your demos and time Cheers
Gsus!!! Awesome Pete!!!!
I'm LOVING the heavier side of Pete!!!
Yeah! The Classic S is back 🤪🤘🏻🚀🚀🚀🚀!!!
Check out the cmode brownie distortion threw a cranked fender twin black face with klone boost
Do you know what I like about your playing???? MELODY AND FEELING!!!!! I hate shredders without feeling!!!!
Nice review and even better haircut!
Wow...that was BADASS! Looking for a high gain pedal...hmmmm...Awesome vid! At 6:45ish what delay were using? Thanks!
Who else clicks on Pete's videos only to listen the intros 😂
Hey Pete, Perhaps you could show us what you use to mix and master of your demo songs. Hardware and software. ✌️😎🎸
Only here to watch and hear you play.
Did that Floyd Rose just drop right onto the existing 2 tremolo posts Pete? How come the change?
Had this one for a couple years
Not a direct replacement, no
Smokin.....love the LP solo.....
What is the black single cut LP style guitar? Great demo - love the playing
Love it!
Baritone is awesome Pete!
This sounds like King's X! All it needs is Dug Pinnick singing over it...
Brutal!!
Good mid distortion. I might need one.
great sounding drive. maybe not enough drive for my trad jazz gigs though. hehe
Great tone! Do you think playing the baritone give you a heathy workout?
I see thar suhr guitar with tremolo at bridge but no locking nut at neck? Is that right? How can??
Been a while since you've done sweeps, eh? That was great!!
0:00 - 1:17 done watching...👍🤘
Wow....awesome pedal with lots of room to play. Baritone guitar sounds great through that pedal.

Yes, get a boost pedal instead.
Great song (and as always, review of course)! :)
I wonder though - have I missed anything, or is that an floyd remake of the non-locking version??
Please tell me I can find that song somewhere
Sweet intro song bro. I dig it. Is it streamed anywhere?
Pete, is the DryBell Unit67 on your pedalboard? Nice gain in the red pedal.
Not a bad little pedal.
Is that new suhr single cut or your new Gill Yaron guitar? 🤔
How is this any better than the Maxon st9 pro plus? Also this tone sounds a little thin. Where's the beef
Very nice tone, Have a question : does the OX is used in the samples?
How is it as an over drive?
..Pete how'd that Danelectro feel ?...been eyeing those for a while..... cheers
Great vid
Cool song and great demo. I like the look of that Danelectro. Hey, what do you think of Dean guitars? Any model that stands out for you?
Hey Pete! What’s that bridge on your Suhr ?
I could totally hear dUg Pinnick singing over this awesome track! He'd be quite satisfied with your bass track to leave it alone. ;) Pedal is very nice!
Pete, this revv g4 or the sinvertek no5 ? Whats ur fave
Great playing as always Pete! How did you do the drums for the beginning track? they sounded great!
As musical as it gets!
two identical smiling mugs spotted at 7:04
Pete, G3 or G4?
What Floyd is that.
Can you get 80’s type of tones out of it?
Or is G3 better for that?
When we're hearing the out of the mix tones, are we hearing what is in the song? I'm just curious if you do much in the box eq in the track and if we're hearing that as well.
Great playing and video as always dude.
Love from Canada :)
Bruddah PT....ripping dude!! Makes me miss my Floyd Rose!! Diggin' the Track!!! Sound/Looks like a high quality pedal. Thanks for the Vid!
I hope its high quality/looks for $229 lol!
Killer!!
What is the scale length on that neck?
I figure you're taking about the Danelectro baritone; it's a long one, at 29.75"

I gotta stop watching your demos. I'm gonna go broke.
