    I think, Japan's goal now is just to give the young players experience playing against the remaining teams as they already know that it is impossible now for them to get into the final four. They find opportunity getting more exposures and just take it seriously, too as preparation for their Tokyo Olympic journey and other international competitions ahead. Good move for them, tho. They always grab chances of improving their team more as others' mission, too.

Takanashi score the most for Japan with 13 points and Shimizu scored 12 points. Oya plays better today than his other matches. Takanashi if on point will be really good at spiking, but he's so inconsistent. His receive is not that good too. Otsuka is not outstanding in spiking and receiving or the consistency of those 2, but is hardly ever underperform in all of those. Takahashi is the best option out of the 3 new members imo, good and consistent receives, not the best but decent enough and consistent at spiking.
      Fukuzawa age might be catching up to him, his max contact spike is around 315 instead of 355, spike feel really weak and receives are starting to get worse too. However, his spiking decision making and accuracy is still better than the 3 new members.
      Yanagida, I can't really tell since I didn't see him perform in VNL, but from past games, I think he's the most reliable receiving and attacking OH next to Ishikawa in the roster.
      I'd choose:
      Ishikawa, Takahashi, Yanagida, maybe Fukuzawa for OH
      Yamamoto and maybe Ogawa (if we don't take Fukuzawa) for L
      Sekita for pins/pipe sets and Fujii for middle sets S
      Shimizu for defensive and Nishida for offensive OPP
      Lee for offensive, Yamauchi, Onodera for defensive MB

    • @sakisaito7493
      @sakisaito7493 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Takanashi has been playing quite well during the VNL (one of the top scores in Japan's B team), while Fukuzawa hasn't as much. Experience just isn't enough when it comes to decisions for the Olympics, so it's not gonna get him on the roster. Also, there are other players on the Olympic team like Otsuka who are just as inexperienced as Takanashi, so this can't really be used as a reason to single out Takanashi.

Sometimes its really unfair, europe being the strongest region with the biggest number of excellent teams and it's hard for also great teams to qualify, take slovenia for example. Meanwhile, USA, Brazil, Japan get a free pass to the olympics, because their region simply doesn't have other strong teams.

    I don't understand with this consistent players changing. I thought they are done with picking up the roosters for Olympic. Yesterday's line up was so good, they take the W with three sets. The constant changing is ruining their flow.
    Ishikawa and Nishida played well, but got replaced in. Up till today, I still don't get the purpose of it.

      Did you ever think that most teams aren't playing in VNL to win, Japan included? That maybe... just maybe... each team is providing their young and up-and-coming players experience playing in an international event for far more important tournaments, say the Olympics? World Cup?
      I don't understand why most do not understand this.
