      Just talked to a retired USMC Eagle Driver who surmised that the Corps will go away because of the current Commandant’s interestin IT Warfare - if the Marines let their aircraft go back to Navy, then the Corps will be gone as a FIGHTING FORCE. FYI for checking your resources. CORPORAL for General.

    Yeah I loved this tool when you made it in your last episode, and now turning it into a multi tool 🤯 my mind is blown, so fricken COOL 😎
    I just HOPE I remember if I’m out in the field and I need this, how to make it 😊
    Thanks 🙏🏻 Corporal for always gracing my screen when I want something pretty to look at, Oh and I mean pretty in a very masculine way 😉
    Much love 🫶🏻 and God Bless 🤲🏻 to you, your BEAUTIFUL FAMILY, and ALL 🥰
    I TRULY HOPE that ALL goes WELL for you and your Family into the future 😊

    A toggle in a piece of line can work too, but this would probably be more stable, especially for getting the bottle out. Would save your cordage if you need it elsewhere too. Nice idea

    Working up here in fire country in Northern California, I get a lot of down time. With all the wood around me, carving up tools became a past time for many at base camp. After seeing this video, I am on a hunt for a L7 branch or two.Thank you for today's lesson.

    The Corporal is right. You don't want to waste calories in a survival situation. You want to maximize the return on any expenditure of energy.
    Which is one reason why i shake my head anytime "bush craft" youtubers waste fat. Fat is calories, and in a survival situation, you don't waste that. Even if you don't need to eat it, it can help start fires, lubricate things, waterproof things, etc. If you are in a to the bone situation, you don't waste anything.
    At least, if you want to live through it.

    I have used the stick to hold the pot over my fire in the same way but I never have thought about putting a notch a little higher and putting the little stick through the bottom Notch to pick up my bottle. I don't know why I haven't thought about it because you used sticks on a string to pull your bottles out so thank you so much Shawn that is awesome AF

    Those Victorinox are sharp enough to start right out of the box. I bought three for some of my great nephews. No need to touch any of them up. And I like a sharp knife. From your Amazon influencer page. Another good video. Thanks Shawn.

    • @scowler7200
      @scowler7200 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My only complaint is the wire-cutters on their more "comprehensive" models aren't big enough. If you don't need to cut heavy-gauge wire, Victorinox tools are phenomenal. Especially the saws and files. My god, they really can cut. Leatherman saws get hung up on everything!
      If Victorinox put dedicated heavy-duty wire-cutters on their tools, I would get another one, but for now, I'll stick with my Leatherman.
      That said, any good multi-tool is better than just a pocket knife. Especially paired with a hatchet or big knife...

    This is why I sub. Like the quick deploy ridgeline and demos on simpler essential knots, this tool will be something that be used by me 95% of the time. I've always made do in the past especially with extraction (when purifying water in my water bottle). Like you, multi-purpose tools are essential to me for the reasons stated. Your vid gives me the motivation to codify this into my skill set and to use it. Thanks so much - knowledge, the gift that keeps on giving.

    Neat ideas for those particular items. What interests me more is your choice of knife to use to do them with! That Victorinox folder is such a versatile tool, and can be used to make many similar "tools" to use around camp. The only limiting factor is one's imagination in coming up with workable ideas. You have shown us one more useful idea.
