    I've seen this even interpreted by many choirs abroad and in the Philippines. Some interpretations are sloppy, some not this fast but I respect all efforts because this is not an easy piece. Other creatures may say a lot of things about this particular performance of this group, but I love the interpretation. It's rhythmically precise. It passed my personal taste. Congratulations UST Singers! 👏👏👏💐🎊🎉

    Hands down this is the best version of Kruhay! Vocals are perfect and very strong! And damn the harmony makes my knees weak everytime i watch this and gives me chills all over my body.

    im one of the Studdent if Sir Beny Castillon from Iloilo University Of San Agustin. The whole story of it is when the Kastila came to panay. para manakop. the bells which grils are holding are for defense for the evil spirit for they believe that it can take away kastila... panayanon believe that kastila teaching the word of God is an evil. because at that time panayanon believe on babaylan, binukot and rituals. The kawayan druns symbolizes tha faith of panayanon which stands firm. And as a student of sir beny fruto castillon it is a nice version of Kruhay....
    very beautiful.

      Its about the barter of Panay, nothing to do with the Spaniards. Lol

    • @donatz25
      @donatz25 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's about how the island of Panay was bought from the Aetas by the Borneans through a Golden Salacot..this was way before the Kastila or Spaniards' arrival

    • @Azrielle7
      @Azrielle7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It talks about the arrival of Borneans and how they (Ati) bartered their land (Panay) in exchange for salakot, gold necklaces, etc. Ginbaylo = exchanged; bulawan = gold

    The choir's voices are too powerful to the point that it sounded aggressive. And so the soprano obligato was overpowered. A more defined dynamics would have given some subtle moments. The percussionist sounded the bamboo so gracefully.

    Kruhay is a Kinaray-a song. The pronounciation for it is not as plain "kru", rather a harder " krrue" (more of Malay accent typical of any kinaray-a dialect). I am a Kinaray-a speaker so i know the flaw right away. It would had been more beautiful.

      @@lylibmilano2343 Kinaray-a is a dialect widespoken in parts of Iloilo, whole of Antique and part of Capiz. Ilonggo Migrants in Mindanao (many in South Cotabato)
      do still speak Kinaray-a if they originally came from Kinaray-a speaking towns of Panay.

    It's too fast. Does not give the tribal element of the song. And what's with the Muslim dance? This is a song based on Panayanon legends and history. We don't have traditional dances like that.

    • @callmebyurname4830
      @callmebyurname4830 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      There is original arrangement of the song that we used to hear..but let us respect how the choir conductor wanted to put some twist in the song...its not bad anyway....whereas about the dance....i believe it was just a choreography and i think this wasnt done base from where the song comes from but a mere addition of something to make the perfrmance more spectacular...just a thought...no war...hahahaha

      I came from the town of San Joaquin in Iloilo in where the actual barter of Panay took place. We annually celebrate here the Bayluhay Festival and the dances are nothing else alike. It's not a Muslim dance, you uncultured idiot. It is more of a ritual or "babaylan" dance.

    What's with the Muslim dance? This is an Aeta song! It is based on the Maragtas of Panay. A bit of research goes a long way when talking fidelity to the piece.

    • @FxKx1
      @FxKx1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      First of, it is Kinaray-a not aeta. It is a story of the barter of Panay between the Bornean Datus and the aetas in Malandog, Hamtic, Antique. Theres nothing wrong with the muslim choreography, after all, the story involves the Bornean muslims. Kruhay was coined by the late Governor Evelio Javier in the 70’s when the first Binirayan Festival was celebrated. We celebrate Binirayan every last week of December.
