"The planet we left behind" I always took that as metaphorically. Not that they're literally look for Earth again, but to find/make a new planet that feels like Earth that no longer exists.

People accept the radio, which is basically a retcon or at very least an addition. But don’t want to accept a potential retcon / addition. Although personally I understand because I was kinda on that boat too because I PERSONALLY was just worried it wouldn’t work and may come across shoehorned. Make it happen and let people see it and it will probably be more acceptable. Let people see for themselves how it is done. And if it fails then they can make the judgement call. I just want to give it a chance.

Just gonna drop this interview with Takahashi from XCDE. The last sentence at least fits your ideas, IMO.
VG247: On this topic, there’s some curious small game-connecting changes in Definitive Edition - like Alvis’ necklace being changed to reference Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Is your intent behind changes like this just a nod and a wink to fans, or are these attempts to more deeply and more obviously connect the universes of the games? Do you want to draw these universes closer together?
Takahashi: From the beginning, each entry in the Xenoblade Chronicles series has depicted a single episode within the flow of a larger time and space. So they are, at their roots, closely connected with each other, but we’re flexible with changing the means and ways in which we depict this in each entry.

Personally, I’d want X to stay its own thing. Trying to fit an alien war, a rebellion, and a world-ending experiment would be stretching credibility too far.
As for the radio, while it does explicitly mention Project Exodus, it also names Dmitri Yuriev, who according to Xenosaga, shouldn’t exist for another 3-4000 years. So I took it as an Optimus Prime situation. (I.E. The one from the movies is not the one from the games is not the one from the G1 cartoon.)
As for the alien war itself, the possibility of it being a false memory has been brought up, but the Ganglion themselves talk about it the same way.
If X is in fact connected, I’m betting that it’s on Mira itself, and not on Earth.

    Right on basicly everything.
Its unreliable narration , as you said false memories and the ending make you question what you can believe.
That said you missed some things :
Narrator Lin in the intro says earth got destroyed
In the Cutscene that plays when Cross visits NLA for the first time with Elma , Narrator Lin already says Earth was swallowed in a shroud of white light.
And in the ending she says , everyone else says earth died that day , but she dosnt believe it , and one day she believes humanity can go out there looking for the planet they left behind.
In a conversation with Goethia and Luxaar , Goethia says they are in some kind of closed off space and got transported there by a white light.
To me this was never a question if the origin point is the same earth , and XC3FR further strenghtens that.
But other people just suffer selective memory loss , or go blind if there are any XCX evidences , instead of believing it they just looked for all kinds of excuses to remove it from being connected.
I also dont think they will change anything in the intro cutscene , maybe the date july 2054 will get changed tho , to fit it with XC3FR and Real Life Calendar.
Because a lot of people even came up with comparing XC3FR dates with XCX date and wanted to dismiss possible connections because those dont fit with Real Life Calendars. Imo comparing game dates with real life ones is insane , but i guess we have these type of people in our community too.

Regarding the Nopon, Xenoblade 3 already established that the Nopon are something extradimensional, they aren't native to any of the places we've seen them from and they aren't bound to the same rules that everyone else has to follow. It's entirely possible that they have the ability to travel between the four worlds even though escaping Mira is supposed to be impossible.
Regarding time, the entire Professor B sidequest ends in the reveal that space-time around Mira is so warped that you can't even escape it via time travel. Compared to that, compressing thousands of years outside into two years inside is nothing.

If does make a retcon, it does help out Lao as it does make him more understandable. The biggest issue with Lao storywise is that while he has a point about the rich abusing and tossing way minorities, its undermined by the fact it was the Ganglion that killed everyone on earth and earth would have exist if wasn't the ganglion. By switching it to Klaus destroying earth it makes it better.

You make a compelling case but there's a HUGE point that I think you ended up glossing over. That being Xenosaga. Xenosaga's lore is pretty simple. There was an experiment involving the Zohar that caused the Earth to disappear and so humanity took the Zohar and escaped. Sounds similar enough to Xenoblade, right? Well, here's the issue. Xenosaga's experiment was the product of a scientist at Vector named Verum and was a very different experiment from Klaus, even if Klaus also fucked around with the Zohar. The ending of Future Redeemed also seems to allude more to a Xenosaga connection as well, especially as that star could be KOS MOS crashing towards the planet. While you did manage to link X, we arguably still gotta square the circle that is Xenosaga.
That said, I do have another point that would help connect X. Lao talks ab how only the rich and chosen could be saved and his family was sacrificed. Some have theorized that this could actually connect to the Saviorite Rebels and might explain why the Saviorites rebelled. The Saviorites/Salvatores also relate to Dmitri Yuriev in Xenosaga so we need to square that circle too.
Also, the White Whale can be explained by time dilation. A ship like the White Whale going at the speed of light may have experienced 2 years but traversed 4-5 light years, putting it squarely in the Alpha Centauri system. Basic general relativity. That said, Luxaar heavily implies that Mira exists in a separate dimension. If Xenosaga lore is anything to go by, it might be a pocket dimension in the Imaginary Numbers Domain (similar to Xenoblade 1's world). Xenosaga has many instances where pocket dimensions are created that our heroes are sucked into, mainly memory worlds that simulate an experience almost like travelling back in time. Since Mira was the Samaaran homeworld, it is possible that the Mira we experience in the game, the thing wrong with the planet, is that it is a version of Mira from the past that they transported to. It is also possible, White Whale, being a reference to the Eldrige in Xenogears, was carrying the Zohar on it. If the Ghosts are Gnosis, they went after the White Whale bc they are attracted to the Zohar like moths to a flame. The Zohar could explain how they ended up transported to Mira but, of course, the Zohar is with Klaus at this time, so does Klaus have an emulator or does the White Whale have an emulator? Then again, in Xenosaga lore, the Immigrant Fleet were the ones who took the Zohar so maybe Klaus and the White Whale are the ones with emulators while the Immigrant Fleet has the real Zohar? A lot of circles we gotta square lol.
Anyway, sorry for the big ass wall of text. I just had a bunch of comments I wanted to give lol.

I just don't see xenosaga as being the thing that hold this up. Monolith soft don't own the ip, they own xenoblade. I think they used some ideas and characters from xenosaga lore (as a fun reference for fans) however, I don't think that is the main cannon. What they established in xenoblade games are the new cannon and they will likely expand on this lore from FR in future titles.

Was it explicitly Verum or was that the guy who lost Nephilim (his daughter?) before it was shipped to a different facility (that part might be speculation on fans to explain it being moved to space)
Now the Zohar thing. Saga claims it was found in the same relative area near earth at least in the solar system, The conduit seems to be the Zohar as well and the Zohar can only have one in the entire universe. It’s possible that because of pocket universes that can explain 2 Zohar’s either it replicated floating where the Rhadamanthus station was or pulled a different one from the upper domain. We know that Gnosis are attracted to Zohar Emulators so it’s possible each ship had one as a core part of their lifeholds for a reason yet to be revealed but it does explain the shapes they have… oh, oh that’s potentially interesting. Shion had contact with the Zohar or an emulator in her youth which called the Gnosis to her if I recall so what if a similar thing happened to the white whale, one of the crew say Elma or possibly lin touched the emulator they had on board and may have called the Ghosts to the ship unintentionally if they truly are Gnosis

They just retcon whatever they need to at this point. I mean, look at the one singular thing that was changed between Xenoblade 2 and 3. It was that the destroyed earth from 2 was in another pocket dimension rather than just being left behind. Why? Because the story of 3(and several of these theoretical new connections) requires that fact. I can totally see stuff working out if they just bend the framework a little.

My guess is that the white whale gets retconned so that it gets sucked into the pocket dimension where Xenoblade 1 and 2 take place but they never get out of that dimension and are stuck there forever. They land in Aionios and call it Mira and that explains why Tatsu knows about Frontier Village and why there are random telethia flying around.

18:10 I think this is def preferable, I really hope it doesnt go the way of Star Wars and connects every plot point to the main cast from the original trilogy. It also makes the universe feel that much more expansive when things are happening independent of each other. I think Takahashi and his writing team are smart enough to avoid that and keep each entry's story self-contained while having small universe-lore sprinkled in for the longtime fans.

My only hangup on this is the alien invasion happening at the same time as the Klaus experiment, as it would seem that would take precedence over a local war with Saviorites. But, I've been okay with the retcons they've been making so maybe if they go this route (which seems highly likely given the combined setup in X and Future Redeemed) they might make it more believable than what I'm imagining.
I also do believe that any Xenosaga references are just references and not meant to be taken literally because trying to make an entirely separate IP owned by another company canon to Xenoblade is going to cause issues down the road, and I don't think Takahashi wants to ride that rodeo again, lol. At most Xenoblade will adapt Xenosaga elements into its own narrative.

    • @GenesisJames
      @GenesisJames 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I can see the apprehension, but Future Redeemed mentions that the people rallying under the Saviorite bill are concerned with human rights abuses. We know from Lao's reveal in Cauldros and Elma's lore drop in the Lifehold that the selection process for the ECP and Project Exodus was rigged as hell and only benefited those who were wealthy, connected, or from first-world countries. I could totally see the Saviorites just using the chaos of the alien war to get the Conduit for themselves out of their own sense of justice. Plus, the Conduit also gives reason to WHY the alien forces fought above Earth to begin with, which was a bit random in the original X (even if humans are the failsafe to destroy the Ganglion, that doesn't explain why the Ghosts were fighting them too unless they were also there for the Conduit).

I quite recently watched a playthrough of Xenoblade 2 to refresh my memories about that game, since its been a while I played it; This playthrough managed to pull KOS-MOS from a core crystal and did the KOS-MOS Heart-to-Heart at the top of the World Tree. This conversation is actually quite interesting in terms of "Is KOS-MOS just an easter egg?", because KOS-MOS is not like any other Blade, KOS-MOS has actual memories about how the World Tree was created. But doesnt know why she has those memories. And with Klaus being the one who created core crystals to begin with, KOS-MOS may easily be Klaus' personal creation to get the technological knowledge of the Earth into a shape that will stand the test of time and eventually will allow humanity to recreate Earth as it used to be. Now I never played Xenosaga (remakes when?), so I have no clue how much of a contradiction that origin of KOS-MOS would be to those games, but KOS-MOS' backstory in Xenoblade 2 is certainly more than just a pure easter egg, she is explicitly stated to be different than your average rare blade.
Besides X DE will surely have a challenge mode in the Arch Sages dimension just like 1 DE, 2 and 3. The original XC 1 didnt have that. In DE you bypass the first entry to it before reaching Gaur Plain and a tiny bit of extra content happens that pulls attention to the dimensional rift. According to 2 DLC Shulk and Fiora entered that rift and thus, met Rex and his group. Something that started as a pure fan service easter egg, however, with 1 DE this became a potential canon scenario all of a sudden. And Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed NEVER explained how Shulk and Rex first met each other. So according to FR lore they might very well canonically have first met in the Arch Sage dimension. Now in XC 2 DLC Elma ALSO entered the Arch Sage dimension at one point and met Rex there. If X DE now ALSO gets access to it, this dimension becomes more and more canon and connects all Xenoblade worlds with each other. Now if we look at 2 DLC, Shulk, Fiora and Elma all arent able to enter Alrest, and Rex cant enter their worlds. Everybody can only return to their own worlds. HOWEVER! The Arch Sage can unlock the entrance to Alrest for Shulk, Fiora and Elma. So it IS possible to travel from the Bionis to the Arch Sage Dimension to Alrest, as long as the Nopon Arch Sage gives you permission to do so.
Which means that technically its ALSO possible to travel from the Bionis to the Arch Sage Dimension to Mira.
Here we go! Tatsu can canonically travel from the Bionis to Mira.
And since we dont see that much from the Arch Sage Dimension... even the dimensional rift from the end of Future Connected (FUTURE!!!! - CONNECTED!!!!) might be linked to the Arch Sage Dimension, Telethia enters dimension, Telethia escapes dimension, Telethia ends up on Mira.

  • @ArcaneEther
    @ArcaneEther 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Proposed retcon:
The "Alien War" in X's intro wasn't aliens at all. They were literally the Savorites from 2. When the Savorites stormed the Beanstalk in attempt to take control of the Conduit, a faction of Earth's population managed to escape, expecting the war to result in catastrophic loss of life.
The military that stayed behind was the rearguard, not the vanguard. The survivors had false memories implanted that convinced them that the Savorites were "aliens", to trick them into thinking that Earth cannot be reclaimed.
Klaus's experiment split Earth into Bionis and Alrest, but the survivors who escaped were out of range, so they stayed in their own original dimension. The events of Future Redeemed showed us Bionis and Alrest fusing back into a single planet (I'm using the name "New Aionios", call it what you want). After the planet was unified it probably came back into the original dimension as well.
Xenoblade Chronices 4 will have Elma and the survivors returning home to "new Aionios", only to find High Entia, Machina, Gormotti, and Blade descendants.

You brought up Kosmos in Xenoblade 2 as a comparison for a huge contradiction, but I'm pretty sure even that can be fenagled to be complicit with both series existing in one continuity.
Kosmos in Xenoblade 2 is summoned from a core crystal, while Kosmos in Xenosaga is physically constructed, meaning that the Xenoblade 2 version could just be a copy based on the blueprints of the Xenosaga version. Since core crystals are directly connected to the trinity processor, it could be that the processor cores were able to access the data from other government computers outside the pocket dimension, and that by the time of base Xenoblade 2, Kosmos was far enough in development for the processors to construct a blade form out of. Being directly based on the real Kosmos could also mean that her Xenosaga references in dialogue are actually baked-in or inherited from whatever state Xenosaga Kosmos was in at the time of Xenoblade 2 Kosmos' summoning.
I'm personally of the opinion that all sidequests, even DLC, are canon in Xenoblade 2.

We already know how it goes. They will retcon the game without actually changing XDE to compensate(Looking at you, XenobladeDE!). The catch is that this time, most of the lore details actually ARE unreliable narration and doubted in-universe to begin with, rather than considered the objective truth until it suddenly isn't and being later revealed that the """unreliable""" narrator had the correct information the entire time and was just lying to us while appearently having canonically shown the correct version to the character(Looking at you, FR!). It would be really hard to make whatever change they are cooking feel unnatural.
4:19 I still miss when that was the case tbh. I have nothing against 2 and 3(anymore at least, I had a really dumb Xenoblade 2 hater phase specifically because of this set of changes), but it was just kinda cooler to me when it was just our world and the phase transition program Monado in the backstory lore. I am aware that they appearently originally wanted the Zohar from previous Xeno games in here and it was cut because new audience members wouldn't get the reference(Understandable, the only prior Xeno game on a Nintendo plattform was 1+2 on DS and it barely sold at all), but scrapped plans don't really count unless they fit what is already in the final game. For all intends and purposes, neither the Zohar nor the Conduit were in Xenoblade 1 and it is impossible to convincingly insert them without remaking that exposition to a degree.
11:04 If we talk about that kind of thing, I am not exactly big on the X script because I never experienced it first hand yet, but didn't people say that the explanation of "the planet's surface went kaputt" was a localization change and what it actually says in japanese is what we see in the cutscene of it just vanishing in a bright light? This whole thing sounds more and more like the Xenosaga thing where earth was gone, but with the catch that it is theorized that it's not actually destroyed but just in some other state that makes it undetectable. Fitting Xenoblade 3's mini-retcon(It would not surprise me if they already figured out they wanted to connect Saga and X by the time 3 was in production) that the ravaged earth of Xenoblade 2 was in its own pocket dimension rather than chilling out in space still. Everything seems to line up well enough for them to just retcon together.
15:08 Now I'll tell you, I always wanted to know what that was all about because it always seemed to inheritly cause timeline questions and multiversial travel(As in, the original Kos-Mos at the end of Xenosaga 3 somehow landing on Xenoblade earth before the games rather than Xenosaga Lost Jerusalem), but if we assume it is all in the same universe and going to be retconned together anyways, then I have 0 issues believing that Kos-Mos Re: Is a recreation of some sort of original concept that already existed on Earth, rather than the finished version created by Shion thousands of years later. Iirc, Shion and Allen being namedropped in relation to her was only ever outside the game, so it is technically not even binding and can be retconned even easier than anything else.
15:30 Is that even going to be a retcon? Regardless of how this goes, it was always kinda clear that this is what is going on. If anything, it would be a MASSIVE change if they find some sort of other explanation.
18:30 I would genuinely laugh so much if Malos is actually somehow involved. Probably not, but lol.

I think another possibility you might have not explored is Xenoblade X taking place in a long future, and the earth featured not being the same earth as the one from the numbered Xenos.
I had a theory that the people from the Numbered Xenos might be the Samaarians from X, we know that :
-The Samaarians are the genetic ancestor-species of the humans from X.
    -They came "from another plane/universe".
-They conquered a good part of the universe (colonization from Future Redeemed ?)
-The samaarians were technologically very advanced (like in the N° series) and much more than humans in X.
    - They also genetically designed species to fulfill their purposes with failsafes (kinda remind me of the Terms in Xeno-3)
-Some elements may lead to think that the Samaarians were 'superior' to humans in other ways (so maybe with some powers like the characters from the N°-Xenos, which humans in X don't seem to have).
For me that's a lot of elements that could also bring an interesting twist to things.
Also, we know that sometimes in history, events tend to repeat and humans like to reuse names and symbols, so it could also be the reason behind the 'Exodus' project name in X, and some other elements.

Only issue (if one considers pre blade Xeno games) the universe is supposedly the final cycle as it was under an endless cycle of being recreated but the events of Saga ended that cycle so if Saga and Blade are part of the same universe X would have to be the same as well.
I personally think the Samaarians have a hand in the weird things regarding the other Xeno series as the Zohar was inside and ancient mechanical facility in Africa which might be samaarian in origin. Though idk too much of what saga says about pre modern humanity, maybe they had their own advanced civilizations a kin to Atlantis

Also I don't get how you worded the second part of your message, especially with the timeline from the series, if you meant that we saw it in X, it doesn't really look like it with many of its characteristics.

I don't mind slight retcons if it means that we get the Xeno story Takahashi envisioned, especially if he does it in a smart way.
I think somehow the alien races knew humans were in posession of the Conduit and could potentially do something dangerous, as humans tend to do and well... actually pulled it off... Klaus.
So the true story is, humanity was fighting and the aliens joined in cause of the Conduit and then Klaus pulled the lever when the White Whale left earth. All the memories of the people of NLA are obviously manipulated and stuff was withheld, so they only knew about the aliens attacking for no appearant reason. And the aliens are so scared of humans since they actually are that reckless to meddle with the universe and decide they have to hunt them down.

If all Xeno games are canon we can take Saga episode 1’s opening scene and combine that with what we know of Elma, The Zohar/Conduit was found in an ancient mechanical housing and around the same time give or take some months or years Elma appears with technology from all over the universe at least the Qlurian system. Given the Ghost’s similarities to the Gnosis of Saga and Gnosis being attracted to Zohar or Zohar Emulators, it’s very possible that is the reason they came to earth and possibly hunted down earth refugees if they had any tech derived from the Zohar. With that there’s a reason all the factions appeared near earth, only question left is why at the same time and also if there’s anything deeper to their reasons

I'm thinking, what if all of XC1-3 happened in a pocket dimension with slown down time after Klaus swiped out Earth from reality and Mira actually is the "Rebuilt Earth" from after FR ? Is that even possible ?
I mean according to the trailer it seems they'll retcon Earth to disappear in a flash of light, like what Klaus literally did.
But according to what Lyn states at the end it's possible that a X2 game will make us go back to Earth, thus being the Rebuilt Earth instead. That if they want to connect both blade sagas.

Not a huge fan of changing the entire series crux. I think the better idea is to just make X take place in a new universe. The ganglion state that the Samaarians arrived at the beginning of the universe from another plane. It's pretty easy to say that the Earth in X is just another Earth that was originally colonized by the Samaarians and named after their planet of origin. This way X can exist alongside Xenosaga since there are no Aliens in Xenosaga. Plus it just makes way more sense and is way cleaner than the proposition here.
No retcons, nothing. The samariaans would be the original inhabitants of Alrest, so they would have core crystal tech, meaning they could proliferate humans easily. They also would have billions of yesrs to advance before being pulled back into the original Xenoblade universe due to the conduit disappearing. It would also explain the Lifehold iconography resemebling the Zohar/Conduit, since it would likely be recognized as an important historical item for the Samaarians.
Cmon, you know this is cleaner.

      @SuperSavajin  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

I understand your perspective. Thing is, I feel like your theory is more far fetched than what the game already suggests. And as I said in the video I believe they can kinda treat XBX as a separate storyline and have it be disconnected from future events with only the Klaus connection.

    • @tearzofthefallen6586
      @tearzofthefallen6586 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @SuperSavajin
Let me start by saying, I dont think your theory is bad, and hope I didnt come off that way. I think what you've presented is plausible and easy from a writing standpoint. Its also likely if the writers dont wanna spend a lot of time on details. But look at my theory's merits for a second. Lets forget about your theory just for a sec, so we can properly evaluate what I am proposing.
Klaus has his experiment. It splinters the world into two. Creating the world containing Bionis and Mechonis and leaving Earth in ruins as Alrest. Who's to say that in a similar vein, it didn't fling a large portion of the population to a 3rd, primordial universe? I mean, most of the population isn't present in either Xenoblade or Xenoblade 2. Some were transformed to Guldos, some where transferred to either world, namely Klaus and Galea. It stands to reason that others were transferred somewhere as well. Since the conduit is a manifold, it doesn't mean that it ties two universes together. It means it serves as a connection to many alternate universes.
So, the experiment happens, and a large portion of humanity is transferred to a new universe. It could be that Earth is split three ways, and this one is disconnected from the trifecta, similar to how Ontos was only later transferred to the X1 universe, this would just be an inversion where a connection is lost rather than gained. Alternatively, they could have been transported in the mechs (enabling them to survive the vacuum of space), or even on one or both of the other orbital towers. Either way, they'd be able to survive the event and devise a way to technologically advance. While time passes, they would undoubtedly make leaps and bounds with the sheer size of intellectuals who would potentially be there, with no other focus and the necessity of advancing to survive. They'd surely discover the same tech that Klaus did with Core Crystals, allowing them to manipulate the human genome easily.
      This:
Requires no retcons since it just literally fits right into the storyline we already have established and even explains a few things like the missing population of Earth.
Does not require a recontextualization of any events in X, Xenoblade 1, Xenoblade 2, or Xenoblade 3.
Integrates seamlessly with Xenosaga and Xenoblade with no (known) lore or chronology issues.
Allows the story to branch from the main series and continue without any influence from Klaus or the Conduit OR allows it to later reconnect to the universe through some means yet unknown to us.
Gives an explanation for how the Samaarians created humans and why the tech was able to be advanced so easily by Elma.
I mean, please point out any issues because, as we stand, I can't imagine a better integration theory. Although, I wouldn't mind if the stories dont integrate at all, either. Two completely disjoint stories are fine by me, lol.

Unfortunately things aren’t that simple, Monolith is saying something and people are not listening because they think it’s too complicated. All we can do is wait to see what they mean
Oh, and if one really thinks that the original earth didn’t have any Samaarians the opening of Xenosaga episode 1 contradicts that as the Zohar was discovered by placing a key (that is shaped like the Zohar/trinity processor cores) on a device that reveals an ancient technological housing device that had the Zohar inside. With how much Saga and Blade are being connected that piece of info implies there was more to earth even back then which just so happens to be around the time Elma arrives also in Africa. there’s also Abel’s Ark which is similar in design to the Samaarian ships we see and is potentially the Xeno earth’s inspiration of the Tower of Babel as it was seen at the time of Christ (not making this up)

Given the way Nintendo Treehouse does things since the launch of the Switch, it'll be the same in both versions. It leans towards the likelihood of it being removed, since they defer to censorship geared towards western sensitivities when making games now, even though they don't need to. They could launch all their games uncensored and no one of value to the game's success would complain. In other words, the core audience versus conservs that shouldn't be playing, who always like to complain about everything that isn't neutered to death.
That's the sad state of things. They're open to pissing off their at-home Japanese fans in favor of the west, whom they "weren't sure wanted JRPGs" back in 2012, prior.

What if on the other side of the planet there was the two titans of XC1 ? That would mean the white whale found the XC1's earth because it was sucked and lost into the micro dimension created by Claus experience. Also, maybe the events of XCX happened before the rising of the two titans.
