Hi, I just replaced the RAM and the fans on my omen ax-00 notebook. What I noticed, putting again the rear panel and snapping it along all the borders, is that in the middle was a little convex, I just pressed a bit also there, and then another snap. Most of the guides I found nobody tells about it, so don't forget to check also the middle of the rear panel :)

dude please help , i have the same laptop since 2 and half years and now its suffering overheat and fps drop, after i used compressed air and changed the thermal paste the problem never been solved so i took it for repair , there they said my fans are 70% weaker so i have to change them with that piece above the fans that connected to the heat pipes . if you please can tell me what is that piece's name so i can buy a new one and what is the reason that makes u want to change it with the fans if the fans are the problem only .. thanks

hi, I got a omen 15 ax202na, and I tried to open it for cleaning and upgrade. However, after I remove all 10 screws and unplug the locks surrounded the keyboard, I still feel a force stop me from remove the case. I saw that your demo laptop is similar to mine, can you give me some suggestions？ Thx
Had the same "issue" opening mine. Just place te PC with the air entries facing to you, and after unplugging all the locks, pull the case horizontaly towards you. It worked for me. Cheers!
It’s one clip in the center, right next to M.2 slot and battery. I just broke it trying to open the shell. To open it without breaking you have to pull shell horizontally towards side where mini jack port is (opposite side from HDMI)

Have you had any issues with that model like the screen freezing, going to green/purple/black after a while sometimes recovering on its own and sometimes not. I'm wondering if this is due to a flaky 128GB NVMe M.2 that the OS uses (boot drive) on my model. I was thinking of updating it for this reason. I have tries everything else from Bios updates to updating all of the drivers, but this random freeze thing just happens sometimes and it has nothing to do with the heat or gameplay. Thanks for the video, I'm going to do a clean install of the OS just in case there is some issues with the original HP install and their associated crapware.

What you failed to mention is you have to disable the Optane drive software from Intel first before you install the M.2 drive. Otherwise when you restart after the drive is installed you will get an OS error as it won't recognize the M.2 drive as having an OS. You can also reformat the original drive (you don't want two drives with the Windows installed on both, suppose you could rename the Windows folder on the SSD drive to Windows.old if you don't want to reformat) and reinstall it so you have a D drive. If so, you can also run your page file off of the D drive.
How to I go about disabling Optane? I can’t find the intel Rapid Storage Tech. app on my laptop, and It won’t recognize the SSD as a boot device. Even when I take out the HDD, it won’t switch automatically
You situation was easier. My C drive is already a small 100Gb stick, with my personal data on the larger 500Gb HD. So, upgrading my C drive Stick would cause me to lose my OS and critical data. So, a little trickier to upgrade. I think I'll probably take it in to get done. Too bad....

Yes you can substitute that’s what I have on my 8th gen hp omen 2T ssd and 1TB nvme and i removed the intel optane memory it had...useless with this new upgrades ... sorry for the late response. I’m here now since I want to put a 2Tb nvme card on hp omen I have but I don’t think it’s compatible so I’m doing my research before I buy the thing

why removing the original hard drive when you can use it for storage?
he probably don't have the tools to wipe the HDD and place it as a slave storage. He also skipped any BIOS configuration... this is not true guide.
Did that clone job also include the boot of your windows over to the ssd?

Is that a hidden screw on central back? I can't take the cover off and I'm afraid to force it.
I am surprised that HP didn't put the screw in place for that M.2 slot so that you didn't have to buy a spare M.2 screw.

I just installed an M2 SSD but is not showing anywhere on the laptop, not even on the BIOS, I don't know what to do.
I've had the same problem with a samgung SSD drive too, incompatibility issues. Returned the SSD in and got a crucial 500GB instead, worked just fine.

JM it’s actually a 2016 laptop and that’s the even lower end model, I bought mine in 2016 and it came with a 128 m.2 ssd and a 1tb HDD for $900
