Twenty years ago I asked my driver from the previous day to take me to Denpasar to where the locals shop, I was interesting to be the only white man , in a department store where nothing was in English security came and asked if I was Lost and needed help ? Somebody came up to me later in the day to tell me somebody was following me , it was my driver , he had shadowed me for hours to make sure I was OK, Bali people are SO sweet. Upon return to my hotel I gave him a bonus 500K , and was glad of his efforts Next day his whole family was waiting outside the hotel , his wife said I had changed their lives I stopped haggling so hard after that we just don’t get how tough many of them have it
Thanks for a video with the normal regular life in Bali. So nice how you complied when the guard approached you. Most people think rules only apply to others and you are always respectful.
When you go to Denpasar, dress appropriately, no singlets, shorts and thongs. If you have to wear shorts, wear shoes/sneakers. Level 21 Mall is more up market. Happy shopping
I have NEVER worn shoes in any mall, in fact i have only put shoes on in 8 months about 10 times. There is NO dress code in Denpasar (where i live) and i am always wearing singlets, shorts and thongs everywhere...
Hi Nick, if you need a butter or margarine in Bali, i have seen cheaper brands, Anchor butter 227gr, $3.70 or local Blue Band Margarine 250gr, $2, depends on where you shop in Bali..
I head from uk to Bali in a couple of weeks, did you require proof of a third covid dose to get into anywhere like restaurants, bars or shopping centres? :)

We used to go to Denpasar in the 90's for shopping at Tiara Dewata, Libbys and MA's before any department stores in Kuta. Rotiboy is from Malaysia. 😃
