I work in a gemstone and crystal shop and I'm at university studying geology so hopefully I can help you out with the names. Sometimes it's hard to name them if i can't physically hold them so if anybody thinks i've got one wrong then please feel free to correct me :) 15:24 Agate 16:36 Agate 17:09 Sodalite 17:25 Tigers eye 20:20 could be amethyst but looks more man-made to me 20:52 dyed crackle quartz 21:35 Amethyst 22:22 not sure, maybe agate or quartz 22:41 Agate 25:48 Rhodochrosite 27:21 Carnelian 27:52 orange calcite maybe? 28:56 Rose quartz 30:05 Carnelian 30:51 Haematite or Pyrite (fool's gold) 31:29 Snowflake obsidian 31:54 Agate 32:33 maybe Blood Jasper 32:56 Smoky quartz 33:30 Quartz 34:44 the next few are agate 38:49 could be agate or rhodonite 40:25 Citrine 41:39 Agate 42:22 Tigers eye 43:26 Blood Jasper and quartz 43:49 maybe moonstone or rutilated quartz 44:11 not sure I hope this helps further your interest! That would be amazing, Beth! I’d appreciate the help. There are several charts floating around the polished stone web sites that people use for identification, which is all I’d be able to muster, so I’m confident that your expertise would get us much better starting list. What do you intend to do with your geology degree when you’re done with uni?
Sounds great, Beth. And thanks for those guesses on the various stones! I'm going to put that list in the video description, and if anyone wants to refine, the more the better. Thanks again!
Listened earlier this evening while working on a painting-but I want to play it again so I can actually watch! The stones are all so pretty. For some reason, the brown and white stone from your driveway made me teary. I used to collect stones when I was a kid. I kept them in an cardboard egg container-so I could sort them into a dozen categories. I wish I still had that collection, I loved those stones🙂
What a great memory, and what a great idea for a container! I can totally see using an egg carton to store little rocks, just as I can see changing the sorting scheme every time I opened the carton. lol btw, the marble game video is in work, so thanks for the inspiration!
This is the perfect ASMR video! I struggle to find videos that actually work for me. Digging your tone of voice & sounds of the stones clicking, plus I would have loved to have a tumbler like this as a kid! I used to spend hours in my backyard digging & pretending to be a geologist or archaeologist 😄 This video never gets old, thank you!
Bonnie, sorry for my delayed reply, but I appreciate your stopping by to comment. Thanks for sharing the memory about your backyard! I did the exact same thing. Every once in a while, I'd find an actual fragment of a fossil in the dirt out back, and I thought I had made a really important discovery! It sure felt like that at the time, anyway. Those days were the best. Thanks for being here.
This is such a perfect video. Was wide awake in bed when I started, and five minutes in and I’ll be asleep very soon 😴😴 ❤️❤️. Loving these little clicky stone sounds
Very exciting video. Memory of childhood rises. Collecting cross sections of colorful stone. I remembered that feeling by your asmr. Thank you Gaslamp :)
Aw, I love hearing this. Anytime I can trigger a good memory in someone else, it’s the highest honor my silly ramblings could have. Thanks for letting me know.
After an overly hectic day, what a pleasure to watch your video. So lovely to sit in my recliner, relax and let my buzzing and jangled brain cells gently slow to a nice idle. Thank you, as always. :o)
The 70s were just paradise! Through meditation, and related memory techniques, I can get about 80% of how it felt back then, but only for up to 15 seconds. I totally live in the past. You can't tell by looking at me, that I'm totally immersed in 70s thought, and memories. All things considered, and accounted for, general evil levels too, it was the peak of human history. Even the adults were much happier. What happened?
Run the tumbler for a week per each level of grit?! Gosh! Could it have been that you got fed up as a child waiting for it to finish? I know as adults we can appreciate patience, but I don't think many children could wait a week for each process to be complete. But then the results are amazing.
LOL, I know what you mean. Honestly, it probably had more to do with buying supplies for follow-on batches of stones. We didn’t have a lot of money when I was a kid, and it was hard to get my parents to buy additional supplies for these craft hobbies. I had a model rocket kit that we never bought engines for. Two guitars that never had a full set of strings each. Only one refill for the tumbler. I don’t fault them now, it was just the situation, and I get it. It gave me an interesting list of things to revisit as an adult, anyway! (although I still haven’t launched my own model rocket... hmm...)
That’s a great question, Lars, and I’m not sure that I have a good answer for you. It is possible/likely that I heard it pronounced that way when I was young, and then carried on with it without ever really connecting the pronunciation back to the spelling. But I’m not really sure. Thanks for watching!
Can I submit an Idea for consideration? I think it'd be funny if you were to do a soft spoken history lesson/professor role-play, but BS the entire thing. 100% made up "facts". You have a great voice for something like that, I feel.
Thanks for the suggestion! That *does* sound funny, although I don’t know that I have the creativity for making up all the facts. But I’ll think about it!

I'd like to work in environmental conservation or the renewable energy sector :) I think it's important to preserve and protect our planet.
Sounds great, Beth. And thanks for those guesses on the various stones! I'm going to put that list in the video description, and if anyone wants to refine, the more the better. Thanks again!
20:20 could be a lab created charoite
Thanks! I’ve added your suggestion to the video description. :-)
how does this not have more views??? this is so calming
Thanks Hannah, so glad you enjoyed it!
Dude, you never disappoint. I love how you bring new ideas to the table and always make it educational. Thank you
You’re always welcome, Daniel, thanks for saying so!

Any time, Kolt! Thanks for hanging out in the stream the other night.

Thanks so much! I love those clicky little sounds too! Hope you slept well.
I slept so well! I missed almost the entire video XD
lol, well, you just left a lot for next time. 😉

You’re welcome, as always! So glad this was the antidote you were looking for. 🙂
Nice relaxing video after a long day of studying. Thanks as always :)
You’re most welcome. I glad I could help you unwind. Best to you.
Loved the video as always!
Thanks IH! Appreciate your support as always!
Arts and Crafts. People were going nuts then. Wicker, potter's wheels, knitting afghans, stained glass, wax/candle making, tye-dye etc...
You're absolutely right. Craft hobbies completely ruled the day back then!
Listened to the entire video while playing Sonic Mania. Great stuff.
I hope I helped you get a higher score! lol Thanks so much!

I love crystals, yours are really beautiful. I also collect crystals and gem stones.
Thanks Sofia, I appreciate your stopping by the stream last night!
Great video! I Subscribed!
So glad to hear it, thanks!
23:46 is that a jasper?
LAMP FOR PRESIDENT
lol
Why do you pronounce amethyst as "Am-ya-thyst"?
That’s a great question, Lars, and I’m not sure that I have a good answer for you. Thanks for responding. There's no problem with it. I just thought it was a curious way of pronouncing it.
No worries, thanks!

Hey I’m Batman 😂
What are you stoned on? Do you really think you should do videos when you're this f***** up??? Lol
I see what you did there. Well played. ;-)
