Thanks for that, Gary. Yeah, agreed with you on the little blue bridge. Once I learned its story, I had to include it here. A great example of practical conservation.
Although I hate when they move things like that. Sure it's not used where it was before probablyu, but it was built in a time when it *was* used. So when people stop walking there with time, 100 years later, who cares if the bridge is just left as it is? Moving it and reconstructing it removes the autenticity of it. It doesnt make it the same cool. Like "here, a long time a go, people in the 1910's used to walk to work" you can't say that now because they moved the damned thing... the only guy who's walked over there is some modern piece of shit nobody cares about. I could look at 100 different modern bridges in that case. Anyway maybe I'm the only one being autistic enough to care about the autenticity in that way, but that's juts how I am. I don't get exited over moved old stuff. Only autentic old stuff that are left just like how they used to be used by the people who lived back in that time.

Blue Bridge Park is just a hop, skip, and a jump (plus a roughly 40 minute drive) from my little neck of the woods. Very cool to see it included with the other historic bridges.
Yes, it's a great little bridge. With its conservation pedigree, it certainly deserved a walk-through alongside the others. Plus, it's such a happy-looking bridge. That blue really pops in person. Thanks for the comment!
Wonderful and soothing. Thank you for another great video. Names & dates from the 1800s can still be seen on Independence Rock on the Oregon Trail. Some people just can't resist leaving graffiti.
Thanks for the tip about the names on Independence Rock! I had to look that up. I wonder how many names have come and gone through erosion and weather over the years. I read that one of the earliest that is still readable is "M. K. Hugh, 1824". I'll dedicate this video to M. K. Hugh. :-)

I don't know where you live, but there are lots of good resources out there that you can use to find historic bridges in your part of the country. Theres an abbey near me that has graffiti/vandalism on it from 100+ years ago. Individuals, friends and lovers names carved into the stone. It's strange to think that if I saw someone contributing their name I'd think less of them but looking at the older examples makes me feel connected on a very human level to a real person deep in the past.
The current setup is just the Blue Yeti recorded directly into my phone, running the Filmic Pro camera app. I don't do any separate audio processing. The audio you hear in the videos is the raw audio from the room.
Approximately in the Midwest. There are some good web sites for locating historical bridges, though, that can be used to find these in all parts of the country.
There are a lot of these type bridges far outside of the town I live in however they are used for cars and trains to cross rivers they are not foot bridges and they are also (I would assume) not as old.
Thanks VJ. Have you ever had the occasion to drive across one of them? Sometimes they'll have a deck that resembles a metal grate, and the sound that tires make on that kind of deck is pretty distinctive.
@@GaslampASMR I have however only one time to my memory the sound is very distinctive, interesting, and weird although I don't personally like it. The sound it makes it is distinctive from really any other bridge deck sound.
