I still find it fascinating how each reef handles things so uniquely tank to tank. Yet a lot of times the so called test numbers are the same. Their are SO many subtle symbiotic things going on that we cant test for. Your tank still looking as stunning as ever!👍 .... well after the glass is clean! 😂
Great update, no hands and glass cleaning seems like a nice balance. Who would of thought the mini refugium on the glass would make that much difference. Good to know 👍
Great vid again Tris. Prefer the look of the tank after you cleaned the glass!! My fav and stunning. Trying to follow you with keeping hands out the tank. As soon as i get home i will be cleaning my glass!!
Im guilty of forever putting my hands in the tank 😬 Your tank still looks banging. The pastel coral look was all the rage not so many years ago when the general consensus was that you had to keep PO4 and NO3 as low as possible. How things change
I'm terrible for it... I'm a changed man now though 😂 yeah I'm not a huge fan of pastel, they just look like they are teetering on the edge of life and death
Great update mate all the things that you have said I have implemented over the past couple of weeks, I had 0 nitrates and Don't have a clue why, I've always struggled to have higher nitrates, phosphate I've always been up and down with absolutely love the pink Mili 😍😍, and torches are looking great mate 👍
I watched your last update on the nitrate situation, looks like yours are on the up though 💪I do need to get it sorted asap though, I have a couple of chalice that aren't liking low nutrients 😬
@@NanoTankReefer it's crazy mate this hobby, my chalices don't mind either, whether there low or not and yet the Mili I had definitely succumbed to low nitrates, also my tank seems to like higher phosphate levels as well, around 0.08 - 0.14 it is a crazy hobby we're in. Your tank still looks incredible mate I would love my SPS to grow as fast as yours 👍👍👏👏
If I remove the cup and run the skimmer the popping bubbles creates mess of salt creep. I recorded this on Sunday and on Tuesday I decided to take the skimmer offline for a few days.... I still haven't seen a nitrate reading 😅
I like to dose it slower as I feel like it keeps po4 levels more stable throughout the day. If you dosed all at once you with have a dip in po4 then a gradual increase throughout the day. Both dosing all at once and throughout the day will work just fine but I though, as I have the option to spread it out over 24 hours I may aswell 🙂
I completely agree with both points. You can make you life easier by selecting the correct corals and fish for your lifestyle but you definitely can't be lazy
The golden torch colours are beautiful and I need a green chalice like yours
Stunning
Great video. I love educational Reefing documentaries. Please keep us updated. Thanks
Thank you and I will 🙂

Cheers Andy, I agree. Yeah I didn't quite expect it myself but hey... If I ever need to reduce nutrients in the future I'll know what to do 😂

You and me both mate! Haha yeah, I won't be leaving my glass alone again 😅
Your tank is stunning mate
Cheers Josh
Thanks for the vid mate 💪🏻☀️🌴 your tank still looks smashing !!! Damn jealous haha
Cheers buddy 😎
If you don’t mind me asking where did you get your Rock flower anemone from? Cheers
I've had them about 2 years now. But I picked them up from BBA Atlantis in Romford
Is the big green ball an anacropora?
It certainly is buddy

Isn't it just 😅 Cheers Dave

Do you grow macro algae or carbon dose?

How come ur not using ur ghl for testing nitrates?
Good question, I'm currently waiting on a new ion probe. It's been offline for about 8 weeks
Why not run skimmer and just remove the collection cup? Nice update 👍🏻

what way do you dose the lantinum. dripped via doser? `does it go through a filter sock?
I dose 0.1ml per hour into the chamber of the Clarisea via a doser. It can also be dosed into a filter sock
@@NanoTankReefer ok thanks, you find dosing it slower works better than a large amount at once?

@@NanoTankReefer yea i get you, do you run gfo along with that?
Prior to lanthanum I used GFO but I took the reactor offline when I switched
nice videos. Sometimes I forget not clean it. I scrub too hard and the glass gets hurt :D
Super update cheers.
Cheers mate
You could add some nitrate with magnesium nitrate
Ahhhhhh the good ol number chaser
Ps LOVE THE TANK !!
😅😅
Cheers mate 🙂
Carefull with the red sea AB+ i experience high phosphates when i dose it daily 😬
I appreciate the heads up buddy. I'll keep a close eye on po4 levels 🙂
Tank Dimensions?
90 X 50 X 53 cm
1. This is not a lazy man's hobby
2. You don't need a refugium, filter roller and skimmer. This experiment proves that too
I completely agree with both points. You can make you life easier by selecting the correct corals and fish for your lifestyle but you definitely can't be lazy
Well said mate and honest too :)
Cheers buddy 🙂
Dose some nitrates!
Dosing is kind of a last resort, saying that I haven't had a nitrate reading since recording this on Saturday so I'm pretty much at my last resort 😅
@@NanoTankReefer can’t see the harm really. Just go slow
If I don't have a reading by tomorrow I'll pick up some nitrates to dose 🙂
I disagree with your assessment of what caused the drop in nutrients.
What's your thoughts buddy?
