In terms of performance and the glitches, I feel like SV are what people thought Legends Arceus would be. And I think in terms of polish, Legends Arceus ended up being what people initially expected SV would be back in February. It's so backwards, Game Freak never ceases to amaze me.

The individual moments comment about Ragnarok is interesting to me because I found more of the individual moments compelling than in the original. The scene with the Norns is one of the best scenes out of both games to me

I was hoping to hear everyone's thoughts generally on the new pokemon designs. I personally think this gen is one of best generation of new pokemon designs if not THE best. My top 3 for designs specifically are Gen 3, Gen 7, and Gen 9.
I did Grusha as my first gym. I basically had my fuecoco just let’s go battle the whole time as I walked there and on the way I caught most of the Pokémon I wanted for my team. Now none of them listen to me since they were like level 40 and I had no badges, but I thought to myself “hey it’s the last gym If I beat it all the Pokémon will listen to me they always do, it’ll be fine” You could’ve heard a pen drop when I beat Grusha and saw the text box tell me “up to level 20 will listen too you” The rest of my team didn’t start listening to me til the 6th badge man! I’m getting pissed just thinking about it! 🙃
Good show, but I do want to correct the record on Game Freak patching their games. They HAVE patched prior games and have done performance updates. XY had two patches to fix bugs and frame rate issues, and so did Legends Arceus to fix a lighting issue.
I definitely wasn't expecting much, but it bums me out more than it should that Triangle Strategy didn't get a nom for best soundtrack. That's what made me not even want to vote this year. Also I agree with Roger about Cr1tikal. I obviously knew of him before, but this year TH-cam made it its mission to recommend him on every video I click for some reason.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoy how shinies are handled here compared to Arceus. Arceus in a lot of ways felt very passive with shiny hunting not only with the outbreaks, but even so much as flying over the land and having a massive explosion of stars and a sound effect whenever a shiny spawns in. Scarlet and Violet feel a lot more like an actual hunt, and by extension shinies feel a lot more special and rare despite being somewhat common due to the open world (compared to games pre-Arceus). Having to actually look out for shinies makes it feel more like a wildlife expedition searching for a rare species or something and it’s much more engaging. With that being said, I think there’s a happy medium to be found. This way of doing it has its obvious issues for hearing/visually impaired persons and for new shinies or those with very little difference from their regular forms. I think going the route of Let’s Go, where there is a constant yet subtle sparkling effect around overworld shinies, plus a slight twinkling sound when you are near one would be the ideal way to go.
If Pikachu has to be in it at some point They could write it like this: New protagonist is in the forest with whatever starter they have and Ash's Pikachu is running from a Pokémon, person whoever and Ash's Pikachu bumps into new protagonist. New Protagonist tries to catch Ash's Pikachu but see how High skill level it is then in the middle of battle Ash shows up and be like "Pikachu there u are I've been looking for you buddy" or something like that and that's how the beginning process of "passing the torch" starts.
IMO while these games are so much fun the bugs and glitches and the frame rate have done irreparable damage to the infrastructure that is Pokemon that won’t be felt until the next game comes out
This is probably the first time in years where I got a new pokemon game and I haven't credits it within the weekend. I've really been taking my time and almost depriving myself so that when I do come back and pick up the game I'm not emotionally exhausted from it off the bat. With that said, it's very conflicting of game. And that talk about the building is the exact same thing I said when I got to the mesogoza city. Like it's beautiful and huge, and the architecture is pretty interesting but completely empty

In with Shofu on the Harry Potter topic. Roger & Zeff being babies over it. And I don't even like that series. The game's fine/good. I've been saying, gen 7, is a fire gen. Best sense gen 5/4. But pokemon fans don't know what they want. Sonic wasn't bad for 10 years. It had good games in that time.
