METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty All Cutscenes (Game Movie) 1440P 60FPS
In 2007, Solid Snake infiltrates a tanker carrying a new Metal Gear model, RAY. The tanker is attacked by Russian mercenaries, led by Colonel Gurlukovich, his daughter Olga, and Ocelot. Ocelot betrays his allies and scuttles the ship. Upon seeing Snake, Ocelot is possessed by the will of Liquid Snake and escapes with RAY.
Two years later, an environmental cleanup facility, the Big Shell, has been erected to clear up the oil spill. During a tour by US President James Johnson, the Sons of Liberty raid the facility, take Johnson hostage, and threaten to destroy it. FOXHOUND's Raiden is ordered by the Colonel to rescue the hostages and disarm the terrorists. The surviving members of a responding Navy SEAL team, Iroquois Pliskin and Peter Stillman, help Raiden disable explosives planted by Fatman. A timed bomb goes off, killing Stillman. Raiden kills Fatman and encounters a mysterious cyborg ninja. Raiden and Pliskin arrange to transport hostages via helicopter, but are confronted by Dead Cell's leader identifying as Solid Snake, flying a Harrier. Raiden shoots down the Harrier, but "Solid Snake" escapes with the stolen Metal Gear RAY. Pliskin reveals he is the real Solid Snake and, along with Otacon, helps locate Johnson.
Johnson reveals to Raiden the United States' democratic process is a sham staged by an organization called "the Patriots", who secretly rule the country. Furthermore, the Big Shell is a facade to hide Arsenal Gear, a submersible mobile fortress that houses an AI called "GW". He explains the leader of Dead Cell is his predecessor George Sears, a clone of Big Boss known as Solidus Snake, who plans to seize Arsenal and overthrow the Patriots. Johnson is then killed by Ocelot.
Raiden rescues computer programmer Emma Emmerich, step-sister of Otacon, who plans to upload a virus into GW to disable Arsenal. Vamp stabs Emma, before being shot by Raiden. Emma uploads the virus but dies from her injury as the virus is cut off prematurely. Otacon leaves to rescue the hostages while Raiden is captured by the ninja, revealed to be Olga, when Snake seemingly betrays him. Big Shell collapses as Arsenal departs.
Raiden awakens on Arsenal before Solidus who reveals he had murdered Raiden's parents and raised him as a child soldier during the Liberian civil war. Solidus leaves and Olga frees Raiden, explaining she is a Patriot double-agent forced to aid Raiden in exchange for her child's safety. After the Colonel begins acting erratically, Raiden discovers he is a construct of GW, damaged by the virus. Rose tells Raiden she had been ordered by the Patriots to become his lover and spy on him, and that she is pregnant with his child. Raiden finds Snake who had helped Olga capture Raiden so they could gain entry to Arsenal. Fortune battles Snake while Raiden is forced into battle with AI-controlled Metal Gear RAYs. The virus causes the RAYs to malfunction and Solidus kills Olga when she discloses her double-agent status to protect Raiden.

I wonder how many people watching this video played Metal gear Solid 2 when it first came out 2 decades ago
I bought it brand new back when it first came out in 2001, it was ground breaking from the original we had on ps1, still till this day hands down one of my favorites from the series.
I definitely did!
I did not ask anything for Christmas (my family did not have much money for gifts at the time) and my aunt bought it for me and my brother on the bundle with the PS2 as a surprise. I was shocked. Such a great game, I did not buy other games for 1 year.
I was definitely one of them! Me and my buddy were absolute metal gear freaks and couldn’t wait for this game to come out. People give mgs 2 a hard time, but seeing that E3 video was breathtaking, it really felt like the future of gaming. I still love it, and I’ll give it a whirl every few years, just like a favourite movie or record.
I remembered getting Zone of Enders since it included MGS 2 Demo
This was one of my first forays into "adult" level gaming stories and I still remember being blown away (and kind of amused) by how long and detailed the cutscenes were.
most people thought this was a bad game,cause you cant play Solid apart from Tank. For me its one of the best games ever, love everything about it

The actual issues with the gameplay are the jank ass combat and the fact that strike teams literally don't stop coming if you get caught
@@mercury2157 true but the whole point of the game is to avoid combat, or at least, large group combat. It's set up as a third person sneaking game so that's what works best. In a way if combat was too easy it would incentivise a shooter style. That also links to why strike teams keep coming. If they stopped many people would just play it like an FPS, clearing zones and moving on, which is entirely not the point, right.

Man this was a good a game from story perspective,I'm enjoying almost every bit of the story,I know some people don't like the game..But hey..You can't make an entire of population of people happy by a single game..I'm glad this game got the recognition it deserves,Kojima shouldn't be ashamed of himself,To some of us..This game was a hit and I'm glad he was part of it..

Looking at it now, it's not that it was ahead of its time, but instead that information was less widespread back in the day, that's why we are only realizing the truths told by the game now. On the other hand, if you were to look back in hindsight, misinformation, trivialization of matters, and hypocrisy have always been parts of the media and society. Hopefully we as humans can soon evolve and move past this nature.

The whole Arsenal scene scared the fuck out of me as a kid, watching my older brother play through it.
I had bad dreams from the weird codec calls from the colonial, with the weird angles and his skull being visible during some calls.
But this especially haunted me. The stone drop into a nightmare, of her voice saying "I'm carrying".
Every time I replay this game, I feel like I'm reliving a type of trauma.
It's fucked.

I put hours into this game since released, I even got the substance when it came out, I played the main story hundreds of times, the story telling, the voicing, the motion captures, the gameplay, the graphics, the Easter eggs , it was a masterpiece then, & it’s still a masterpiece, this is the title that proved Hideo Kojima is one of the greatest producers/directors in video games ever,

Snake’s speech in the end bring me tears when I was a kid
I have played this game over ten times and watching here makes me want to play it again. I was on my PS4 and one of my friends was playing MGS4 and I got all gitty. I with they remade this game with alternate ending and more levels so I could get back into it all over again. MGO2 forever
20 years later and I still can’t stand Rose’s dialogue with Raiden. Everything else is 10/10.
Fun fact: Kojima based the dialogue off of conversations he had with his wife.

MGS1 was about genes, MGS2 was about memes. The theme for each game is amazing and the creativity that comes behind it.
Why was Raiden called codename "Snake" for a whole 10 seconds? Was it just to call back the beginning of Metal Gear Solid where Snake is swimming and talkin to Colonel?
That and to bait and switch you when raiden takes off the mask
It's because the entire game is a rip off of shadow moses. I know it's a 20 year old game but even so I won't spoil it directly, but if you know the ending it makes sense for what they were trying to do.
The patriots were using it to create another Solid Snake in the form of Raiden. The whole mission was a recreation of shadow moses. The final mission so to speak after countless VR missions

Now, that right there's the RAY, can we talk about the RAY, Raiden, I've been dying to talk about the RAY all day, okay? Arsenal Gear, this name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day Arsenal's RAYs are getting sent back to me, Arsenal Gear, Arsenal Gear, hell, this whole BOX is Arsenal Gear! So I say to myself "I gotta find this place, I gotta go up to there, I've gotta put their RAYs in the place's goddamn stores otherwise they're never gonna get it, they're gonna keep coming back down here, So I go up to Arsenal's location, and what do I find out, Raiden, what do I find out? There is no Arsenal Gear, the place does not exist, okay? So I decided, "ohhh, shit, buddy, I gotta dig a little deeper," there's no Arsenal Gear, you've gotta be kidding me, I got BOXES full of Arsenal! Alright, so I start marching my way down to the Colonel in FOXHOUND, and I knock on his door and I say, "COLONEL! COLONEL! I GOTTA TALK TO YOU ABOUT ARSENAL!" And when I open the door, what do I find? There's not a single goddamn CO in that room, there IS NO Colonel in FOXHOUND. Raiden, half the people you've interacted with have been made up. This incident is a goddamn ghost town.
