This is why I don’t trust PFF grades. Nick Martin is one of the best LBs in the country and is by no means a liability

Dorian Singer has stepped up every game. He is just not getting enough looks. So many mouths to feed on the Utes! Now that we are in conference play we will play our starters the full game. Meaning Cam will likely play this whole game. I think Whit has been keeping Cam out as much as possible to ensure we win the Big 12.

First game was a blow out, so Rising sat when the game was in hand. Second game Rising was injured. Third game Rising was injured and they got good starter reps for the back up Wilson.

Every other caster out here is sticking a finger in the wind, tapping into their ignorant biases, and then making predictions based on whether they are regular today. The numbers don't lie! Love the quantitative breakdown. Not enough of this out there. Grazie mille!!!

Some peripheral considerations for the game: 1) 97 degree heat and high humidity 2) The Boone crowd is loud and rowdy and right on top of the visitor's bench 3) The field is oriented east and west so the visitor side of the field will be in direct sunlight the entire game.
The Cowboys O--line pass protection is the strength of the oSu passing game. They are are seniors who have been together for years. They have allowed zero QB sacks so far this year. Their run blocking has been suspect this year compared to last year. This will be a big question mark for me. On defense, the Cowboys have been very successful making adjustments at the half. Hopefully, they will not allow the utes to gain a big lead in the first half and dig a deep hole to try and climb out of.

You are doing the work of the divine every week so thank you!
I did say preseason we lose this game, I think I am sticking with it though unfortunately. You seem to be the optimistic fan and I am the antithesis lol. Rising has yet to play a full game and our team seems to play down in heat historically (just an anecdote, no stats to back that up). I would also add that our history on the road against teams who finish in the top 25 (i do think osu finishes top 25 and this isnt to say we dont win against teams who are ranked at the time, just final ranking) isn't very good. I think our last win like that was almost a decade ago. Absolutely hope I am wrong! I would not be shocked if we win so I am not completely hopeless! I am thinking 35-28 OSU, very high scoring.

Joseph, excellent job breaking down the numbers. Based on the numbers, it seems that Utah's offense is going to over power OK St defense. I actually don't see them stopping the offense at all. On the flip side I think OK St offense is going to win most of the time against Utah's defense. But Utah's defense will only need one stop or one turnover to make the win. My final projection was Utah 42 OK St 35.

Haven’t watched your video yet, but I’m going with best case scenario for Utah.
    Utes 48, OkSt 27.
OkSt defense is just too porous and the coaching staff will have Cam and Co. ready to expose it.
OkSt with 128th passing defense, in the 90’s for rushing defense, 124th for total defense is not good. I’m looking for specific packages for Singer to be pulled out. I’m looking for big games from Kuithe and Lohner. Cam airs it out for 5 passing TD’s and Dijon and Bernard combine for 2 more.
Our defense is the stoutest OkSt will face all year. Bowman will be sacked 2 or 3 times and the pressure will be relentless. He is turnover prone so I’m looking for 2 interceptions, maybe 3. Extra body in the box for Gordon. Our linebackers and DB’s should have themselves a field day.

Collin Oliver went out with an injury. That’s why he hasn’t gotten as many snaps. I don’t think? that he’ll be in for the game against Utah.
Edit: just looked it up- sources: Collin Oliver out for at least a month.

I just started the video. How deep will you go. Osu 9 and 1 versus ranked teams at home as a dog.
Cam is 7 and 6 on the road.
Utah strength schedule is 113. How will cams timing be with 3 quarters and cut finger.
Osu has 4 recievers that have had 100 yard games.
Ive heard alot about utah's offense. Not that different from ksu and isu, both had top draft te.
It will be 100 with over 140 on the field. 4th quarter will be tuff on utah.

Another solid analysis. Thanks for taking time to crunch these numbers. Question: Is Bowman a bigger threat than What we faced in Caleb Williams? Bowman may get some numbers but I think we end up containing him. Need good secondary play though. Utah 34. OSU 27

    • @Number4lead

I was wondering the same thing. Williams was a monster of an athlete who was able to escape, while often gaining yards. I don't think Bowman is that fast or slippery. Sounds like their OLine is pretty stout.

Good explanation of the stats leading up to the game, but why didn't you adjust for the opponents? Southern Utah is worse than Tulsa, Utah State is worse than SDSU, and Baylor is worse than Arkansas overall (while much better defensively).
I don't see a 10-point win happening in either direction. Neither team is as good or bad as they look on paper.

Both ok state starting lb’s are out, their already weak defense is significantly weaker in this game. I expect Utah’s offense to be the show stopper in this one.

Oliver is out but he moved back to playing primarily DE this year, Ozigbo replaced him and is playing well. Wright (other injury) has never taken a live snap for Ok State. However, Roberson is only in his 4th start, so he's relatively inexperienced. Daniels, an all B12 safety, (6' 5" 245) moved down from safety to LB this year after bulking up.
