I have a Winnebago Solis 59 P and I would like to replace the fan for this 12v ac unit so we can have ac when connecting is not possible. Would it need additional battery to run?
Do you find that this actually cools an entire van? We have a 170 and live here in Texas. We have tested it in our driveway and it only cools about 12 inches below the vents on a 87 degree day while the van is parked in the sun.
Yes, it cools the entire van, even 170 extended sprinters with very little insulation here in FL on a hot day. If it's not cooling well, start by sealing any gaps, closing windows and doors, using reflectix on windows. Next insulate your van. If that does not do the trick you might have a faulty unit! We've never seen it fail to cool the entire van.
Hello! Just started our build and we are getting the same unit! I am curious how is the flex on the roof with the unit? If you could do it again would you brace it on the bracing that goes across the ceiling? Just curious if that’s over kill or not. Great video thank you!
This does not have an air "exhaust" so it does not do the job of a maxxair fan. If you'll be cooking inside your rig a lot, a Maxxair fan is a good idea, in addition to the VELIT. Most other AC units are the same in this regard.
It's possible but it would take some serious adaptation. I wouldn't recommend it and the standard parts that come with it would not be enough to cover it.
I want a very small btu roof top unit to put on the roof of my pick up. it will be a two seat cabin to cool. with your smallest unit, and no engine off time in use, Can I just wire it to my pickup truck battery and be good, if only using it when driving? what speck alternator would I have to use to power this? or the smallest BTU unit you have?
This is the smallest unit we currently offer. It can run on most vehicle's standard starter batteries while the vehicle is running. You'd need a 100A alternator at minimum, though bigger is better.

This sealing process is enough to not let rain water leakage?
Yes.

Not necessary to reach the van's framing. The sheet metal alone is quite sturdy as it's got those curves.
Hello! Do you recommend installing a vent fan with this?

Thanks! This was the video I needed!
Glad it was helpful!
Where do you connect to the battery bank ?
Positive wire lands on the Smart Battery Protect output and negative wire lands on the Shunt output.
I have a van with a 15.8x15.8'' Hole for an old skylight. would it be possible to mount this?
It's possible but it would take some serious adaptation. I wouldn't recommend it and the standard parts that come with it would not be enough to cover it.
I have a small Airstream 150 Sp Feet inside.. will this work for a summer night time a/c set up
Yes, we use these on spaces up to 175sqft in Florida.
can you run this AC while driving?
Yes, absolutely.
Curious if you ran the ac into an inverter?
We did not, it runs directly off of the battery, which is much more efficient!
@@MobileSolarConsulting oh awesome. So do you have solar setup to an mppt and the mppt connected to the battery?
@@kristenwright8152indeed we do

Se puede comprar o enviar a Eapaña? Gracias.
We do not ship internationally. Sorry about that.
You said this is not large enough to cool an entire van and in the same sentence you said you install a lot in south Florida? What?
I think he said Rv, which has more than 350 square feet. It should suffice for a van. Even a 170.
That is correct@@tacticasyarmas
