    Compliments on your good taste. I'm not usually a big fan of Seiko divers, even most of the GS divers are so over done, huge hunks of ziratsu polished steel with gauche styling ( I loathe those hands with the giant arrow heads). This one really does look "right", and at $850 US, it looks like a value. Thanks for sharing your latest find.

    Nice Rendition of the MM200.
    I Also like the heart throbbing intro with music pumping as you open and resize the watch.
    Additionally, the juxtaposed sideshots gives the viewer a better understanding and how it compares to the Tudors and the outgoing MM200 of the yester generation.
    Great work there in making this video - at first I thought it was a SEIKO commercial until I heard your voice.
    Keep it up.
    Greetings from the USA.

    I love that seiko just removed the rehaut/chapter rings instead of aligning them properly 😄 saves all the arguments 🤷🏽
    I am waiting for mine to come tomorrow, I have owned and lived a couple of mm300s but ultimately sold them. Now I’m looking for a daily beater to compliment my Reverso and hopefully this does the job for me.
    The steel bezel didn’t appeal to me initially but over time and with a decent 40% discount I kept coming back to it.
    Thanks for your video- as always 👍🏼

    This is the watch Seiko needed to make. Quintessential Seiko diver and it could be to Seiko what the Submariner is to Rolex. I really don’t understand why it took Seiko so damn long to figure this out

    • @denisdes7
      @denisdes7 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@denisdes7 I would say so. The MM300 is so overbuilt that, while beautiful, is not practical a daily sports watch. I’m sure bigger wrists can pull it off but there is no denying it’s chunky size.

  • @garyk8285
    @garyk8285 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice piece. Is it 42mm from tip to tip at the bezel?
    As the SBDC061 is a 43-44mm case width, but its really a 40mm at the bezel to bezel tip, so its quite normal in size despite the case width at 44m, the case is hidden below the bezel I guess.
    Where did you buy the watch at that price @ US$850?

    Thanks so much Uptick for getting this early review out. I've been scanning YT for last 3 weeks hoping someone would review it as I first saw pictures of both models on Hodinkee with release dates stated as early 2021. The initial pictures looked so promising and now thanks to your video, I can see particularly the steel bezel version looks exactly as good in the flesh as I was hoping. I recently bought an SPB143 mocha dial which I think you have also reviewed and now I think I'm going to flip it and get the SPB185. I'd love to know where you managed to get such a big discount especially with a brand new release as the lowest price I can see currently is €1100 on C24. I live in Ireland so purchasing from Far East well add import duty and taxes so ideally will have to wait to purchase from a European based seller. Enjoy wearing it as it looks the business and keep up the great work. Love the channel and the presentation style.

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Anthony. New releases pretty much come right away in Hong Kong. High street retailers offer 15% off but smaller shops are free to discount more. Depends on how much stocks they have, if it’s limited edition and how bad/good business is I guess. In other countries I can imagine it’s not as easy to get all the models and there’s a long wait if you hope to buy it in person. Online retailers will benefit from the excitement of releases but this one isn’t limited so I wouldn’t rush.

  • @valontony
    @valontony 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yesss I do like the resemblance to the TUDOR Heritage Black Bay Steel Bezel and the SEIKO Case & Bracelet is hard coated but what about the Steel Bezel, is it hard coated ? I have the Citizen Eco Drive Diver Titanium which is hard coated on Case n Bracelet but the Bezel was Aluminium numbers inlaid on Steel (not hard coated) so it scratch easily! What a shame! Even expensive Tudor has Aluminium inlaid bezel instead of ceramic or harder stuff. Do you know what kind of hard coating on this SEIKO case, bracelet and bezel (coated or not) ?

    How does the Seiko SPB185 compare on the wrist to the Tudor Black Bay Steel you mentioned in the video? I’m debating between the two models. My concern with the Tudor is that it is a bit thicker and has a larger lug to lug size. Love the steel look of both these models!

    Love the shots starting at 6:25. Thank you for including them. Not enough watch reviews include shots of someone wearing the watch from a distance. I lament that most reviews - like Tim Mosso’s - just use close up above-wrist shots. It makes such a difference to see the watch worn from the side - that’s essentially how people will see you with it

I am holding my almost new SBBC063 in my hand as I watch the video. Observations - I’m not sure what has been changed - is the new mm200 smaller in either diameter or length? The hands are obviously different. The bracelets appear unchanged. I enjoyed the video but it left me rather confused.

      I've got the 063 as well. Some differences I noticed are. The new one has a thicker bezel, minute track is printed on the dial and has a flat brushed edge on the side of the case. The 063 has a framed date window and has the metal ring on the inside of the bezal that I'm not seeing on the new one but maybe I just can't see it in the video.
