I met Keith Wilder a few years before he died. He was performing with essentially a cover band at the time. Wouldn't be surprised if these were the same guys.

No, it isn't! All the original members are dead with the exception of their bass player, who has been paralyzed from the neck down for years, from being stabbed by his girlfriend. Even by the late 80's, Keith Wilder was the only original member still trying to tour as "Heatwave". Anything past 1988 didn't contain any original members, period.
