    Great review.. bought one for my son for Christmas and was probably the best tutorial video I've found. Thanks

    As I am aging, the urge to tell totally irrelevant stories kicks in, but as a kid of the 80s I had a Nikko RC car, a Toyata HiLux - absolutely a quality toy.
    Totally retro to see the brand being reviewed in 2017 :)o

      +iMeMySelf Cool throwback ✌. I will say the plastic is super durable and not even a bent prop after all the shenanigans I put it through 😂🍻

    That Jerry rig fpv is genius. I’m looking to do that to my 115 👌🏻 I’m looking for one that hooks up to a phone through an app or something similar

    I would have loved this 3-4 years ago but it would have been a lot more$ although I've spent more than I care to tally? the rewards are worth every penny! A great first quadcopter it seems before getting in deeper. The ACRO feature is fantastic!

      +Allen Brooks Most adept to FPV would but this is geared more as a mainstream toy. With a bit of cool options like the ability to tinker with betaflight etc.

    Hey you have a CR 10 in the living room, sweet. Any chance of trying out the 3dr solo you have? I've had mine for awhile and love it. Good thing the nikko doesn't damage much when it crashes.

      +M Beck yes I do. I need to do a review on it. Printed my mini dabbing trooper and some SD card containers but needed to find a bed leveling solution and also a better fix than tape for a printing base so the filament won't slip or stick too hard. Any suggestions Matt? I know your a wizard at 3D printing by now 👍

      @Taematoe 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a Gizmo PEI sheet for my print bed. www.amazon.com/Gizmo-Dorks-Printer-Surface-Adhesive/dp/B074XLD5QH This would work on your CR 10. They work like magic! As far as bed leveling goes I do mine manually. The real key is to do it once and not move it. I set my Printers on fatigue mat on a big heavy desk to soak up vibration and quiet them which helps also. I use elmers glue sticks on my other printer, it works but not as good as the PEI.

    Not bad, but nothing like the racers they flew in the DRL World championships (5S batteries!). Don't like the proprietary battery. I think there are some cheap 'tiny whoop' style quads in the $15 range (brushed) which might give this thing a run for its money. Of course, they don't come with gates, etc. Seems a bit 'twitchy' to be flying indoors, especially by a n00b or youngster, but outdoors on a calm day, it might be a ball to fly. Thanks for the review. Mahalo!

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Somrak ....it's a toy 🙄🍻😁 The race gates were kinda cool. Being able to dabble in beta flight is a cool feature

    • @billsomrak
      @billsomrak 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless they give some pretty good instructions (and WARNINGS), I don't think a kid or a n00b would be wise to "dabble" in Betaflight .. sounds like a recipe to brick the FC .. or make it completely unflyable if they don't know what they are doing. If its an experienced FPV pilot, familiar with Betaflight .. no problem. Do they give any kind of "Betaflight Instructions/Warnings" with it? Just curious.

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Bill Somrak It's pretty vague in the instructions. They refer to go to the website for betaflight instructions so I think that will deter most from even attempting unless they are committed to dabbling. I plug in with the 220 version review (up soon) and it is infact betaflight and connects without issue. Betaflight has become so simple to use that it would be pretty hard to brick a drone unless someone's trying to do manual firmware flashing etc. In recent memory I've (accidentally) unplugged so many times with so many different crafts before pressing the "disconnect" button and was sure something bad would happen but to my amazement never had and issue luckily.

    • @billsomrak
      @billsomrak 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree .. Betaflight is pretty bullet proof, although, I've found no reason to update any of my 5 racers to the new 3.2.2 (running 3.1.7 on all). Yeah, if they refer the owner to the Github Betaflight instructions, I'm pretty sure that will deter them .. ha ha! Looking forward to your next review. Cheers.

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bennie Leip Yep. This one would need a simple cam system. Seemed to work well enough with a $20 cam&battery on top if someone got this for Xmas and wanted to upgrade it to FPV 🤙
