Hello Matt, I have inherited an old Knuckle Buster and Rod that was used in the 1920's in the Bay of Islands, What do you know about these old rods and reels? I am trying to find out anything I can.
I have found out more About the Rod and reel, the is a Hardy Bros 7' Sea Silex made between 1925 and 1927 with 3 rim mounted levers made for W.H.Tisdalls ltd. The rod is a Tonkin split cane 6 ft 6inch long boat rod by Len Butterworth, Brisbane, Australia. It is marked LB26. It was owned by James Donald who owned the "Marion D" and fished the Bay of Islands in the 1930's. The reel still has some Linen line on it. Do you know of anyone who can give me more info on this fishing kit from the 1930's NZ?
Love your videos Matt out there doing it now
