Perhaps you might consider going to Vision Preparedness's bug out weekend in Dayton OH - May 16th ish - smaller channel but a good bunch of folks there (or so it seems through YT). ~6 hours from Tenn so maybe a tad far but we all should look to build and/or enhance our communities.

My garage is filled will a lifetime of old stuff. A little cleaning and it’s useable. Perfect? But it works. I have a hundred years old rip saw for firewood. Ugly bout sharpens OK. My car is 19 years old. I can’t afford power backup so I bought a huge stock of charcoal. I could list many reasons why 200 lbs of wood charcoal (reusable) is not good but it’s the best thing for my budget. Gotta do what you can afford.

For many years i carried it everyday, use it for turning out the occasional screw, digging a weed out of the garden, picking a rock out of my boot tread, many things you would've want to do with an expensive knife. Its decent qaility but if it breaks, hey it was free.

I have known other women with the thinking that if something costs more, especially a lot more it has to be better. The only thing you get that's better if buy something just because it costs more is a better salesman. After flipping houses for 30 years, being a mom of five sons for 28 years, taking care of my mom with Alzheimer's for 10 years, and a lifetime prepared person I've had to purchase a lot of different kinds of stuff. I have learned that if you can't get it used or on sale, never buy the cheapest. It won't hold up. Never buy the most expensive. It's not worth it. The middle grade is going to be your best deal 99% of the time. I find this little law to live by to have served me very well on anything and everything from weapons to garbage disposals to diapers. If we are ever in an shtf situation, you are going to wish you had bought a good reliable knife and more food not, less food and a fancy knife. No one is going to be comparing price tags. In my mind that kind mentality is a good bit of why we are in this mess. Keeping up with the Jones is a thing of the past. Every single cent should be considered perhaps your last. Don't ever let someone whose job it is to make money off of you to tell you what you and your family need.

People don't understand it because I've had a successful career, land, nice home and toys. As soon as I stopped putting value into predatory behaviours the more blessings I experienced personally. I hate chasing money, talking money or feeling like I have to sell a piece of myself to gain reward. I completely understand your feeling of grimy and disgust hawking menial crap to people. To me personally it feels like a violation of trust. If you want to help, HELP.... Don't be a smiling glad hand with a hidden agenda. I think it is a Bible Belt thang.

I know many stick around for HER stuff but personally idc how useful S's content might be - I can learn it elsewhere.
I know what you mean about idolatrous followers. There are a few (including D&S) that almost feel like a cult the way the viewers *aggressively* come down on others to defend the person, even if no one actually insulted that person. It's so bizarre. Just look at how you said, "Yeah I said it." As if bracing for someone to bite your head off for it. Speaks volumes, doesn't it :-/

I quit watching quite a few channels because of their drama click bait headlines. Then the sales pitches started…trying to make us feel like we are putting our families in danger if we don’t buy their stuff.
I will confess I have a little freeze dried food in my long term pantry, but the bulk of it is in my home canned goods, dehydrated fruits and veggies, store bought canned goods, and a freezer full of venison & chickens.
    Thank you for being real!

I relate with what he is saying. Because I have bought some items that I really wanted. And I do like to spend money. And I'd like to spend money on quality products at the same time. When you buy a high dollar item, you are so afraid to use it. Eventually, I force myself to use it. Because it does be no good sitting there. Connect what I do with my high dollar items and i've got a ton of shit. It's like what am I gonna do with 6 different backpacks or this. Many ballistic helmets ,

Did a video last week talking about low-cost combat and sporting shotguns coming from the same mindset as what you are discussing in your video. Used guns can provide sufficient quantity and quality to include spares, Cashe weapons, and items that can be used in a 5-10 program. Most people will be doing guard duty and security patrols, which low-cost weapons can be used for.

I'm a firm believer in good, quality tools that may cost more, but will last a lifetime. I might buy 2, just in case. I won't spend more than $20 for a small pocket knife, or over $40 (like cold steel, or sog, no i am not promoting them, they are an example). If it breaks, which it shouldn't, it's not very costly. I use some of this gear, daily. So I've learned what to get and what to pass on. I'm not going to destroy a $100 pocket knife, or even buy one. imo, learn a "trade" like beer production, canning, fire starting, camping (if you've never been), cooking in cast iron over a fire, or rocket stove/Dakota stove. Sharpening stones....

You are correct MD. When it comes to knives, I buy and make knife kits. The blade comes pretty much finished ( in many cases completely finished ) I add my own wood scales ( handles ) and make my own leather sheaths. I can make a nice high quality blade with sheath for $25 to $30. I make them and give them to friends and family.

Yes. You're absolutely correct MD. Thank you for saying it. Because I've felt that way for over a year, but I still watch a few of them because I can get most of the world's conflict for the last 6 to 24 hours in one video. I eat the meat and leave the bone. Thank you for your videos MD. I appreciate them.

About two years ago, I bought knives in a set of three (different sizes) for the kitchen from Walmart. The set was $17. My main requirement for a knife was that the blade and the handle were one piece, from the same metal. This -makes them stronger and durable. Previously, I’d bought scissors with a titanium-steel blade. They were extremely sharp however, the handle was plastic. The handle broke soon after I started using it. Now I have sharp scissors that are useless.
Buy quality when you can and you’ll spend less money in the long run.

I believe that you are a good man. Excellent observations. You have a conscious. Reminds me of a guy who had 20000 bullets and shotgun shells. Until he got evicted and was given 4 hrs to do so. He could not carry the ammo from his apartment to his truck. And when he finally did liad up his truck..the front of his puck up was starring at the sky. The frint wheels were not in contact with the road. Plenty of ammo and guns, but no money for rent. Unreal !
