Two interesting tourist attractions in Bali | Indonesia | Sixty and Travelling
The first tourist attraction of the day for us was Mount Batur and Lake Batur. Mount Batur is an active volcano, it's last eruption took place in the year 2000. It rises 5600 feet above sea level. We viewed Mount Batur from relatively close quarters of a restaurant located nearby but a safe distance away at matching height. The restaurant had set up a glass-bottom viewing platform projecting over the dense forest underneath. Initially walking onto this viewing platform was somewhat unnerving because of its transparent glass bottom. But soon one got used to it and then it was fun. We also visited the nearby Lake Batur which is a crater lake and reputed to be the longest Lake in Bali.
Our next visit of the day was to the coffee plantation. There the most distinctive and unique attraction was the Luwak Coffee. Luwak coffee, reputed to be the costliest coffee in the world, has its origin in the excreta of a small creature called , Luwak. In the coffee plantation, besides going around the plantation we were offered different varities of coffee for tasting, quite a unique experience.
