    I appreciate the fairly short review. Tired of seeing 1hr reviews when a fairly simple plane like this can be covered in 10 minutes, as demonstrated here.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you. My reviews are rare, but I do my best to make them quick and to the point in 8-10 minutes showing the highlights versus a full flight with checklists and lots of rambling.

      @@thecorporatepilotdad 8-10 minutes was the Golden age of TH-cam. Now, most channels are releasing documentary length videos on a topic that could be cover in like 5 mins...
      There are some channels that I watch do publish documentary-length vidéos, but those channels are often educational ones thay have to explain concepts to people outside of the industry that the creator is in.

    • @TamaHawkLive
      @TamaHawkLive ปีที่แล้ว

      @@N0616JCProductionsI agree, I used to want longer videos when things started to get shorter and shorter, but recently there's been a rise in hour long plus essay videos and you realize that they're just 15 minute videos edited together. Tempo is something that youtube creators still struggle with and listening to someone explain stuff really quickly for an hour or more in duration is just exhausting. You really have to be a genuine professional to have the experience to deliver educational material in an engaging way for long durations

    lovely.... nice and concise. I have taken up flight simulation again after some years and invested in a medium to high end PC. I have never really enjoyed the stock aircraft on offer with MSFS and although better, MSFS 2020 still dissapoints. I bought the Carenado 182 RG II to enjoy a slightly higher level of aircraft reality. I was wondering what the horn was for until I found myself tilted over in a belly landing yesterday....then I figured it out! Great

    I love how you found some minor errors which I'm sure they'll fix with an update. I enjoy the Carenado planes. This is the first plane I purchased at full price. I usually wait until they are discounted. The autopilot works well with the GTN 750 premium and it's nice that we get a steam gauged plane here as the other 182 has the G1000.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  ปีที่แล้ว

      The steam gauge panel and the classic 182 RG itself is what attracted me to buy this airplane. Steam gauges are simple. All the needed info is right in front of the pilot and there isn't too much information overload. Steam gauge airplanes are quickly becoming a thing of the past.

    The top of the white arc is VFE or the speed at which full flaps can be deployed. There should be a placard that gives you the speeds for the other notches. You can actually see the speeds on the flap control. It shows that first notch can go in at 140 knots and the 2nd and 3rd at 95 knots.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, which is why I stated the first notch (10 deg) can be selected at 140. There is a placard with the speeds. Not all airplanes have white arcs and not all airplanes have flap speeds on a placard and must be committed to memory.

      @@TheDornado Nope, not at all. That was me alluding to the placard stating the flaps can be selected to 10 degrees up to 140. Many Cessna single engine airplanes are that way. That's the former CFI in me trying to correct errors.

    The Carenado 182T has a serious cockpit view issue where if you raise up to be able to see out the front, you cannot turn your head left/right and see out the side windows. Does this aircraft also have that issue? I use TrackIR for head movement recognition and like when you're in the actual aircraft it is essential that you can simply turn your head left/right without having to droop way down to be able to see out the side windows (traffic, pattern, etc.). Using "buttons" to change views is a thing of the past for me. In real life, there's no issue looking right and left. So I was really surprised with this issue in the modeled 182T.

    The flight model is the worst part for me. It flies on pretty solid rails for my taste. Even more than the Asobo ones.

      The aircraft is also very responsive making it feel very light. 182 control forces IRL are significantly heavier than a 172. I wanted to touch on this but it’s MSFS, people have different control setups, and equating what I feel is difficult to do in a home simulator.

      @@thecorporatepilotdad I really hope Carenado consider making some high fidelity planes one day because the modeling and textures are just outstanding! Maybe some community mods too...

    Maybe it’s just me, but I felt like it did not fly well. The flight model feels really bad.

      How so? The controls are way too light/the airplane is over responsive?

      @@thecorporatepilotdad hard to really put my finger on it. Best I can say that it feels like it slides around. And landing is awkward. Just feels weird to fly. I think it is most noticeable at low speeds where the plane just doesn’t have any weight.
      The attention to detail for the cabin is very good, though, so I am hoping that they take another pass at the flight model with an update.

      @@gibememoni I fly small light aircraft, and I can tell you that they don’t fly like that Carenado. Heck, I fly other Cessnas in MSFS, and they don’t feel bad like this one does, so I know it’s not the sim or my peripherals either. It’s this specific model.

      I guess your head is stuck in the sand ! There are always reviews on new airplanes that come out for sims... I love this channel as the creator is a Real World Pilot, and for those who are using the sim for practice and keep up in their IRL flying. This review is great to determine if you want to buy the airplane.
      Also, he can review Gulfstream or cj4, but 99% will never fly them IRL, so calm down!

    Your video is very good. Excellent product description. everything is 100% excellent information. I only have one doubt. I find it very hard to believe. To be honest I don't believe one bit of the part where you say. That nobody paid you for your review. Fake. This video is from Carenado. If this video is not produced and edited by Carenado. So I just have to say. That you are a person who has nothing to do in your daily life. The video is masterful a piece of art. Woooooa body. Stop killing time on the SIM and dedicate yourself to video editing. You have too much talent.

      Thank you for the kind words about my editing skills. Carenado did not pay me. I contacted Carenado 3 years ago to help test airplanes before release and they didn’t reply. That is the only correspondence I have had with them. I would never take payment from a dev to review an airplane because that’s ethically wrong. The airplane was purchased in the Marketplace for $21.34 with tax.
