Can I just say thank you 😊 - I came across your channel about 6 months ago and have been hooked ever since. I was diagnosed with grade 3 bladder cancer in 2019 and life since has been a bit of a misery with treatments/disappointments/ step backs etc but onwards I go :). This is where you come in 😊 Your videos just raise my spirits, don’t know how many times I’ve watched “surviving a snow storm” - it should be on Netflix. It reminds me of what I once was and can still be - Thank You and thanks Blue for making me smile, you take me to where I want to be and to where I believe I will get.👍
Mate that is brilliant you have that hope and positivity to move through your current situation. Life definitely sucks at times so I’m glad I can give you a few moments to raise you up. Keep going my friend👊. I’d love to get a video on Netflix 😂😂😂.
An emotional one this mate, took some of my wife’s ashes up there on her birthday this year 25/3, first place I’ve laid some as Coniston was a pretty special place for us. It’s absolutely stunning up there ain’t it!! :)
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Your videos are an inspiration! It’s so heartening to see the encouragement. My wife loved the outdoors, unfortunately she lost a battle with mental health last year resulting in her taking her own life. But if even one person watches this and gets themselves outside and finds some calm to it then it’s a job massively well done! Thank you!

Thanks Phil it’s much appreciated. I love the fact that we can inspire quite a large audience through these videos and it definitely makes me want to keep going with all the lovely messages. Keep getting out there mate👍👍👍
Love that term Al; positive escapism. Headed out myself on Sunday for a 4 day wild camp canoe paddle on a mountain lake in SE Oklahoma. Like yourself, I paddle and backpack. Super impressed with your video of your old man, who at 81 puts most of us to shame. I’m 73 and continue with my adventure sports and see no slow down or reason to quit. So excited to get out and escape the tarmac as you call it, camp in a tent, cook on a fire and explore some creeks and coves in this National Forest. Doesn’t get any better than that. Time to pack my gear. Cheers. Dan
I agree with so many of these comments, I think your videos are a catalyst of encouragement for people, so many are going through so much right now. I have a childhood friend who probably won’t make the next six months and it makes me realise you’ve got to live in the moment and do the things you love.
Such a nice place to camp, and I love it when you're able to set up for sunset/sunrise with 2 door tents, not many things beat opening a tent door first thing in the morning to that sort of view.... Apart from maybe a dancing dog 🤣
This is what I have done for years and I go and get into the Outdoors. Living in Vancouver BC Canada we have all kinds of mountains to explore. When I get out I feel so alive and nothing else matters in life. Exploration and adventures is everything if you can get up and get going. There is just me so I can come and go all the time and get out there to hit my reset button. I know this is why I'm not down and depressed and its because I get out and move forward. You are so correct and life should be about your next adventure Your videos are excellent and and Blue is such a wonderful dog. Cheers to you. Sheila
My grandparents used to live on the opposite side of Coniston Water and I would sit at the window and drink in the view across the lake to Coniston village and the Old Man. Such happy memories boating and swimming in the lake, and the Old Man was the first mountain I ever climbed. It's still one of my favourite places in the world and I love going back there. I've never explored the mines though! Thanks for the video.
I watched this last night whist relaxing in our tent and I enjoyed it so much, that I'm going to watch it again very soon because hubby's an early sleeper but I'm not so, it will be a pleasure to sit on a chair beside him and watch again. I love your Blue. He's a sweetheart!
Looking at the winch in the mine I would say it looked like it was driven by steam as it had a piston. This will have been used to pull the mine carts out of the shaft. But when the mine first opened it would have been pit pony's pulling the carts. I'm currently working on the larges mine project in the UK where we are sinking shafts straight down to over 1600 meters. I would like to say your videos are a real inspiration and have helped me to no end after the last few rough years I've had. I'm heading out on my first wild camp tomorrow with a load of mates and watching this took me back 13 years ago when we all climbed the old man. Keep up the good work.
Great videos as always Al , life isn’t the best at the minute but your videos and enthusiasm and optimism helps me escape my own mind at least for an hour ! Thanks mate and keep up the brilliant work !
Thank you for another great escape and positive words. I’ve been in that ‘puddle’ before and it was one of my pups that helped to pull me out. Life is so much nicer and, yes, even better when I choose to make the effort to step out the door!
You guys r so lucky. In the US that would be completely closed off. Only mines we can tour are guided ones. With tons of other people. And no dogs allowed. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Time in the mountains is always time well spent👍 Lived in Cumbria for 32 years before moving to the highlands earlier this year. Your Lakes videos show off the fells superbly and bring back great memories of fantastic days. Thanks.

Another wow video mate! I sat on my sofa watching your video and it lifts my spirits. I feel like I'm there and I feel the pleasure. I can't wait to go there. Love the views of Coniston Water I've swam the length a few times and ran the Coniston 14 several times. It's the first place I went to in the Lakes in 1999. It's truly magical and your filming , production, presentation is like no other. Beats the mainstream TV. I hope one day Netflix reaches out to you. You deserve the accolade. Best wishes Alan!
Mate thank you 😊. I could make a Netflix video😉 it’s just getting recognised. You’re some man swimming Coniston water. I’ve never done any swimming to that extent and would be my weakest part of a triathlon. 👊
@@BUSHMANandBLUE How you camp on a mountain during storms and keep your calm, you're a true ironman! Swimming on the other hand could be achieved through training but nothing can prepare you for what you do mate. My hats off to you👏👏
You certainly won't be having anyone sneaking up on you, walking across those slates is like walking on bells. Blue is stealing the show as usual, making new friends while you're pitching the tent and rolling around on the ground while you're relaxing. Such a good boy.
Another fantastic video Al lad.. Thanks for taking us with you..The Old Man of Coniston is a fantastic place. This adventure was a proper mixed bag with history of the old mines, the chat about life and that drone footage, I love it.. Stunning footage and fantastic pilot. Blue as always keeping his eye on the drone.Loving that top, very striking and looks top notch. thanks again for sharing your adventure. take care and be safe 👍

Great vid, especially on the old Man. One of my first and favourite hikes in the lakes about 12 years ago. We had lovely calm weather all the way up, once at top the wind was horrendous. Blue is so funny when you get the drone out and when he’s messing around behind you while you are chilling.😂😂 yes this vid has to be one of my favourites, although it’s hard to choose. Thanks.x
Hello brother, we watch your videos with love and appreciation, you make very good videos, we wish you continued success Greetings from Turkey🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Love Coniston, first done it with our scout troop back in the 80s whilst camping at great towers, a day to remember, it was boiling and our leader forgot drinks, sipping from the crystal clear streams back in the day without a care in the world. Went back up there new years day 2020 but started from walna scar car park and up via goats water to avoid the 'slog'. Great film as always but this one was special, thanks for the memories.
Nice to see some merchandise! Looks like a good quality piece of clothing, and not to mention an amazing video that you have presented again! You never let people down with video quality and posotive attitude! I shall hope to meet you and blue on a mountain someday with my dad! All the best - Dan

Fantastic video as always, ive been a subscriber for a long while now but this is my first time leaving a comment... just wanted to say thankyou for how much you inspire my little family.
hi mate, we spoke before about people complaining about buying you a coffee a few weeks back, i want to get into your game, for my sanity, i have had mental health issues, i work hard all week then drink all weekend, its a very unhealty life, its time to get a grip of myself, im ex 3 para, i love the outdoors, camping, cooking etc, you have inspired me so cheers
Well, after a week in the forest, I’ll be watching your video! So, that’s what’s on with me. I’ve put the gear away, edited my pics, cleaned up, and am just chilling out at home watching my favorite adventurers!
Looked like you had the place all to yourself, virtually. In conditions like that, it's just perfect. Great pitch, really like that tent, for the 2 doors, looks awesome. Fantastic drone footage, haha Blue looks so excited when you get the drone ready, time to hunt! Love the footage from inside the mines, I've never gone in any of them, had no idea they were so vast, and I could feel the cold from here haha! Great video mate, oh, it's OK to say a drill going through your thumb hurt a bit, it's totally normal haha. Top job mate, including that little trip at the very end haha🦶💪💪💪⛺️🌅🏞🤘
I enjoyed this alot, I do love the Coniston fells. The walk from the old man to grey friar is one of the best in the lakes. It's also nice to see someone vlog a different area of the lakes to the usual wasdale langdale.
Another class video as always Al! The old man is one of my favourite mountains ever. I've been putting off watching this one because I've been editing up my own old man adventure (just uploaded). I don't get as deep in the mines as you, and i didn't manage a camp, but I did get some kayaking done on the lake which was great fun!
Wow, Al. Its amazing how you blokes used slate and bricks to build roofs and floors for centuries. In British Columbia we did everything out of wood , and still use it today. Really enjoyed the vid, love the Lake District. Take good care of yourself and Blue , Cheers Al.
I tell ya what, you're getting pretty darn good at this video lark . . . It's fantastic to see, and I for one am glad I'm here for it. Thank you. Both of you. Best wishes.
As usual Al, another great video. Climbed The Old Man Of Coniston a few years back with some cubs and scouts and got to see the mines. Had a great time with some stunning views. Off to Helvellyn at the weekend with some mates. Keep up the good work buddy, give Blue a fuss for me.
How do I get the stew out... I'll use a spoon or something...😂...yes use a spoon 😂 Decant was the word you're looking for. Your videos are incredibly inspirational
Some really good advice mate. I sit on my arse so much but when i go for a long walk in the south wales valleys i feel loads better. Hardest part is getting out
Hello. Bushman and Blue. The old man of. Coniston one of my favourite old haunts. What an excellent video they were tough old men that worked in those old quarries in all weathers. That tent is brilliant looks really good. Anyhow well done. All the best Cheers. Blue performed well. B. K
Yes a lot of my ancestors worked in those slate mines hard old boys slept in the old bothy with a stone for a pillow. They were men one old boy had a block of slate fell on his leg crushing it took them two hours to get it off him. What did he do went back into the Riving shed and carried on working. No air ambulance or anything those days. All the best Cheers. B. K
Hi, got to say, love the vids and your droning skills are improving so much, beautiful and the mixture of classical music (and others) - just WOW (to use your words :) ). Me n wife climbed the Old man of coniston and onto the ridge behind 5 weeks ago, awesome walk and views. We had 50mph winds at the top mind - made it a bit more knarly. I love outdoors and up high, I enjoy for adventures along with many others - thank you and of course the awesome Blue
Quality Al. Watched this one with the missus and we both loved it. Glad you're moving things on with the channel. It's my birthday soon so I've put some hints in 🤣 Stay safe and well mate, Adge and B
I loved it when you were chilling on the chair with a beer and Blue was disc dancing behind you :) I love the industrial history of our country, most has blended back in so well with nature now. How do you go about planning where to go next? Got into a rut last weekend and couldn't pick anywhere. In the end I just went and explored the local ancient woodland rammed full of bluebells.
Just subscribed , excellent adventures to watch and what you and blue get up to really makes me want to get some gear and get out and about myself . My wife and myself go to the lakes often staying in a lodge beautiful place . I will look forward to watching some more thanks buddy.
The mine you went into at 57.30 has a higher level to it that goes on for another 200m you have to scramble up to your right hand side past a water tank. There are also 2 more big mines higher up called spion kop and scald kop.
A great video Alan, love the more lengthy ones.👍 only problem is, you have cost me £188 on the tent🤣, I'll probably be needing it quite often when the missus finds out😳😳but it looks a great tent and I'm sure it will be money well worth spent...keep up the good work.👍
The word you were looking for was decant Al, too many beers 🤣 another class video mate. I think me and Coni are gonna head up St Abbs way later this week 😊
That’s awesome. Not been up Old Man but it’s on my list. Now knowing I can do a bit of spelunking on it is going to bump it up that list a fair way. Thank you!
Another brilliant one Al loved the drone footage. I don't know how you choose your mountains for your adventures but we seem to share a few favorites. Top of st Sunday next one for us. I will keep my eyes open for you and blue in July. Take it easy cheers Chris
Mate, love it that you did Old Man! I live pretty local and visit/camp up there and around that area quite a bit. I think it’s beautiful and you showcased it brilliant in superb weather. Thanks very much for the video Al 👍
Talk about the hebie-jeebies those old mine shafts bring. However, a kindered spirit rises up to the occasion once again, and great job/video as always. Bet you're missing a good blizzard on top of a mountain about now!! LOL

😂 cheers! I always worry the long ones wong be watched but they seem to go down well😊
Those tunnels are amazing
Must have been a great feeling exploring them! Thanks for another great video 🙌
Yes I love places like that with all the history laid there to see👍👍👍
hi mate, we spoke before about people complaining about buying you a coffee a few weeks back, i want to get into your game, for my sanity, i have had mental health issues, i work hard all week then drink all weekend, its a very unhealty life, its time to get a grip of myself, im ex 3 para, i love the outdoors, camping, cooking etc, you have inspired me so cheers
Mate! It all starts with that positive life choice. Now just make sure you act on it. Get out there and enjoy it. Well proud 👊
Well, after a week in the forest, I’ll be watching your video! So, that’s what’s on with me. I’ve put the gear away, edited my pics, cleaned up, and am just chilling out at home watching my favorite adventurers!
Enjoy😊👍
Cheers Paul. It’s quite a special mountain to explore. The thumb is still a bit numb even now 😂
Gorgeous as always and I'm getting homesick again.
😂I’ll keep providing the taste of home for you👍
I enjoyed this alot, I do love the Coniston fells. The walk from the old man to grey friar is one of the best in the lakes. It's also nice to see someone vlog a different area of the lakes to the usual wasdale langdale.
Yes I need to explore further around there. It’s a stunning place. I might do your suggested walk😉👊
weather looks stunning
Another class video as always Al! The old man is one of my favourite mountains ever. I've been putting off watching this one because I've been editing up my own old man adventure (just uploaded). I don't get as deep in the mines as you, and i didn't manage a camp, but I did get some kayaking done on the lake which was great fun!
Brilliant mate! You’re a good lad for getting out in it. I’ll have a watch when I get a moment 👍
Love your tents and all the equipment cooking utensils so nice good 🙂🙂🙂🙂🥰🥰🥰🥰
Great vid again Al ! Awesome spot. Blue is hard as nails nothing phases him 💪💪🤜. New tent looks ideal for the summer. Keep smiling 😀
It’s a lovely tent with ample space. I just used it again for a couple nights with all my kayaking gear in👌
Wow, Al. Its amazing how you blokes used slate and bricks to build roofs and floors for centuries. In British Columbia we did everything out of wood , and still use it today. Really enjoyed the vid, love the Lake District. Take good care of yourself and Blue , Cheers Al.
Yes it has been a good resource that lasts! My house built in 1860 still has the original roof. Many last hundreds of years 👍
I tell ya what, you're getting pretty darn good at this video lark . . . It's fantastic to see, and I for one am glad I'm here for it.
Thank you. Both of you.
Best wishes.
Thanks you😊. I’m trying and learning all the time. 👍
Incredible photography and so creative every week. Thank you.
Thanks 😊
🌜🦋🦋 love blue so much, he’s so beautiful 🦋🦋🌛 30:27 😁😁😁
Love the old man ❤️
As usual Al, another great video. Climbed The Old Man Of Coniston a few years back with some cubs and scouts and got to see the mines. Had a great time with some stunning views. Off to Helvellyn at the weekend with some mates. Keep up the good work buddy, give Blue a fuss for me.
Enjoy Helvellyn! Always fun with your mates👍
Hi Ali blue nice to be back out with you have safe time 🙂🙂🙂🙂🥰🥰🥰🥰
How do I get the stew out... I'll use a spoon or something...😂...yes use a spoon 😂
Decant was the word you're looking for.
Your videos are incredibly inspirational
Some really good advice mate. I sit on my arse so much but when i go for a long walk in the south wales valleys i feel loads better. Hardest part is getting out
Yes 80% is just getting out of the door. Keep going mate👊
I heard the Tigris tents are pretty good for all seasons, but the smaller tents seem pretty reliable to. Must be waterproof.
Hello. Bushman and Blue. The old man of. Coniston one of my favourite old haunts. What an excellent video they were tough old men that worked in those old quarries in all weathers. That tent is brilliant looks really good. Anyhow well done. All the best Cheers. Blue performed well. B. K
Thanks Brian. It’s a brilliant place and probably the most interesting mountain out there. Yes Blue always plays to the camera😂
😂 yes as I said we are all weak now a days compared. That block of slate would have just been called a splinter😂
You always remember those windy days where it becomes more challenging. Ace pal👍
Nice one Al great drone footage when you said it’s my happy place and blue started rubbing his back 🤣 your in sync with each other
😂 he’s so good at being on camera😂
What a fab upload, proper enjoyed that, thanks both!
Great video love the blues track as well ,keep producing the content love it.
Quality Al. Watched this one with the missus and we both loved it. Glad you're moving things on with the channel. It's my birthday soon so I've put some hints in 🤣
Stay safe and well mate,
Adge and B
Glad you watch together👊. Merch this week hopefully 👍
I just pick any place and get stuck in. I try vary it though and prefer new places. 👍
Totally stunning spot
Looked awesome.
Great vid as always
Atb Graham
Just subscribed , excellent adventures to watch and what you and blue get up to really makes me want to get some gear and get out and about myself . My wife and myself go to the lakes often staying in a lodge beautiful place . I will look forward to watching some more thanks buddy.
Welcome my friend👍. Definitely think about some wild camping especially if you already go to the lakes👌
Thank you so much mate 🙏🏻
The mine you went into at 57.30 has a higher level to it that goes on for another 200m you have to scramble up to your right hand side past a water tank. There are also 2 more big mines higher up called spion kop and scald kop.
Yes I knew of that extra section but didn’t find the other mines although there are a few smaller ones Ive been in. I’ll look next time👍👍👍
Nice wallpaper there @ 47:36,, beautiful
👌
Enjoyed that a lot. Brought back lots of good memories of when I used to go walking with my dad. Thanks Al and Blue.
Oh good. Those memories are always so precious. Thanks pal.
I remember doing The Old Man in the late 1970's - you got a lovely day for it.
Yes thoroughly enjoyable😬
A great video Alan, love the more lengthy ones.👍 only problem is, you have cost me £188 on the tent🤣, I'll probably be needing it quite often when the missus finds out😳😳but it looks a great tent and I'm sure it will be money well worth spent...keep up the good work.👍
Brilliant mate😂. The tent is pretty good👌. The only thing I’d swap out is the bag. It will fit in a smaller one👍.
Awesome.. love it fairplay
The word you were looking for was decant Al, too many beers 🤣 another class video mate.
I think me and Coni are gonna head up St Abbs way later this week 😊
😂 cheers buddy. Enjoy👊👍👊
Thank you for such a great video 😊 very much appreciate your hard work, you never disappoint ☺️
Thanks 😊
Excellent as always... thankyou.
What an amazing adventure, had a bit of everything. All that industry is right under your feet.
Yes it’s a cool mountain offering more than most👌. Cheers mate.
We were up near
there yesterday - with the family so nothing high, did the lovely Tarn Hows > Coniston loop - one of fave parts of the lakes.
Yes I love Coniston 👍 less busy than other places.
This truly is an adventure into the unknown today becarefull my friends 🙂🙂🙂🙂🥰🥰🥰🥰
I always love adventure for that reason. 👍
Fascinating and stunning, yet another fantastic video 👍
Wow so much history so much hard work
That’s awesome. Not been up Old Man but it’s on my list. Now knowing I can do a bit of spelunking on it is going to bump it up that list a fair way. Thank you!
Definitely worth a visit😉👌
I've literally just came down from there today! How strange. Can't wait to see this one
This video is so relaxing
They all are for me 😬😊
Another brilliant one Al loved the drone footage. I don't know how you choose your mountains for your adventures but we seem to share a few favorites. Top of st Sunday next one for us. I will keep my eyes open for you and blue in July. Take it easy cheers Chris
I like st Sunday because you get to see striding edge from a different angle. You never know our paths may cross👍
Just brilliant as ever !!!!
Mate, love it that you did Old Man! I live pretty local and visit/camp up there and around that area quite a bit. I think it’s beautiful and you showcased it brilliant in superb weather. Thanks very much for the video Al 👍
Thanks buddy I’m glad I got to show it off in lovely weather. Quite an amazing mountain👍
Wundervoll, danke!
Love from India for you and Blue.
Well that was a boring load of rubbish 😴........ as if!😂 Yet another hour of epic footage from the best duo in town! Love it!❤ #no1youtuber
Cheers Jase 😂😂😂
Talk about the hebie-jeebies those old mine shafts bring. However, a kindered spirit rises up to the occasion once again, and great job/video as always. Bet you're missing a good blizzard on top of a mountain about now!! LOL
😂 I actually enjoyed the calm for once👊
