I remember seeing glitches like that in game with NPCs like inmates and guards when my game or computer froze. They would just start walking through walls and go right out of the map casually.
It's a glitch: click on the desk in the cell that your searching then click on another cell quickly you will search that cell instead, a very useful glitch
also i'd like to mention you could've fin another glitch in there: if you pause and unpause repeatedly when on the roof at daytime you wont get shot then you can do the zipline and get shot that way you only need to chip that wall and get a zipline hook and once you've done that you don't even need to wait til lights out
