Allen is an endless source of creation. This one even I can produce!
you can do it!
I love that I go from, “That looks like garbage.” to “That’s freaking AMAZING!” When watching your tutorials. Thanks for sharing your gift/talent!
A common sentiment , oh ye of little faith lol.
"I love the smell of contact cement in the morning." Great video, Allen! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like this method. Using latex to me always makes the burlap look shiny. Looks cool if it's the look your going for. This natural look to me is awesome.
its does keep a natural look- and its a faster process.
Awesome scarecrow and i guess am the 1 % who always read the description boxes 😉
you are the one!
I’m really loving this channel
Thank you so much! Have a great Halloween!
"If you can smell colours, then get some fresh air" - wise words
Just found your channel last night and love your videos and sense of humor. Keep up the great work and killer ideas!
thank you so much, I nope you subbed!
Just discovered your channel trying to find ideas for creative Halloween decorations. I absolutely loooove this burlap guy, great for a porch. Thanks for showing the novice the scary path!
you can do it! go make stuff!
you are the ONLY one I've seen use the face sock!! Love the idea
Thanks! They're very handy and light weight. Glad you enjoyed the video!
This version of the scarecrow looks pretty scary and horrific almost looks like a Vampire kind of but definitely makes for a unique scarecrow I absolutely love the mask make and fall and autumn leaves overall its epic
Im glad you liked the video!
@@StiltbeastStudios :)
This mask is awesome. I love it, I think it would look great as a prop even in my Haunted Path. I really want to say thank you for showing us your talents and teaching us how to make things like this. It will be an awesome addition to our Halloween Fun!!! Again THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!!! And one more thing, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Very Happy Holiday Season.. Stay safe.
glad you like the video- you have a great holiday yourself!
I think the paint sock is a great idea to use as a base. A vinyl mask would look really wicked! Thanks for the inspiration, Allen.
It does work well as a liner
I love scarecrows! Great idea for the teeth. Thank you so much for these tutorials.
Glad you like them!
Yes! I've been waiting for this one Allen. I've bugged you long enough and finally the squeaky wheel gets its oil...lol. Bravo sir! I love the balaclava underneath for the liner. I'm made one of these last year according to the Jared Myers method with silicone calk. I also went for a Grim Stitch look. Long process. Looks wise, it came out awesome. Problem was it was heavier than a cement truck with a full load and I messed up my vision. It was also my first mask that I've ever made. Regardless, I will be adjusting my methods after seeing this tutorial. As always,.thank you! 🤘🏻💀
these are so light weight, and contact cement is more stable for your skin for sure.
@@StiltbeastStudios how good of a job does the contact cement allow for in terms of sculpting?
What an awesome idea on using the sock ..i ordered a burlap scarecrow mask that is impossible to wear..fibers are everywhere..Got in my eyes just trying it on!
the sock is a must, burlap masks ought to be lined in my opinion.
Always excellent tutorials! Reminds me of Kane Hodder's face appliance in F13 pt7, and I can certainly dig that! 🪓
Rock on, boss!
Cool, thanks!
It's hard to find quality masks you can wear with glasses, but I believe this qualifies.
Well done.
yeah, I just had to make a plant monster mask for a glasses wearing actor
For some there is the option of contact lenses.
Another solution might bento put a pair of safety glasses over the form, before the cotton liner is pulled on, thereby allowing more room for the wearer's glasses.
Awww Castle Blood! How obscure.
no, that haunt is awesome! known far and wide!
@@StiltbeastStudios Didn't know it had notoriety. Being a savini student, thought it was a hidden gem.
@@pogodrew86 they are pretty active in the hauint community- Ive been friends with Ricky Dick there for 20 years or so.
Btw, you can tie a safe noose with sisal by putting a knot on the neck loop then tie as normal for a badass neck piece for this.
I dont do too many nooses due to a local sensitvity to them. but you could if you want for sure!
madness! I've always wanted to be my own grim stitch factory .excellent tutorial !thanks allen
they do amazing work!
Great vlog for non latex mask makers! Love the Mcfarlane and Goblin references for style and yes I read the descriptions ha!
tattering edges is a chance to show a style, it makes a difference
"Fattest Scarecrow ever" ... just means it's a good harvest...lol.
Great job... Lots of ideas
a really good harvest lol. Like an ice cream and cheese burger harvest.
You do such amazing projects I love watching your videos
Glad you like them!
I really don’t understand why you don’t have more views on your videos. You’re extremely talented and I’ve learned a lot watching your stuff. Thanks!
Working on it!
Another great job, Allen! Love your videos!
thank you, you are so kind.
Thanks! Again (and again and again and...). Love your videos. Only thing keeping me sane right now.
Dave fell free to join us on a live video sometime- we will go live in abougt an hour- lots of masks to paint
Man, you are Awesome. I love your tutorials. I've learned so much from them. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
just found the channel already hooked!
Im so glad, thank you.
Looks absolutely amazing ! Contact cement is our friend 😂😂😂
it does not seep through like latex can, and so many folks are allergic now.
Reminds me of the "Salt Monster" from Star Trek.
ok, i can see that if I squint a bit.
"Smell Colors"...that's MY line! LOLOL! Love it, man.
thats the good stuff!
Love your videos....here in upstate NY...
Thank you! Here is a big Halloween howdy from Texas, thanks for watching the channel!
Happy Halloween Sir
Allen, their is a Grotesque look about the mask. Something about the burlap makes the whole mask pop..another excellent TH-cam Wednesday..from the man with a million ideas.💀☠️
Thank you, these are fun to make
One more use for my old coffee bags, thanks again, looks great!
this style of mask is pretty popular
I absolutely love your videos editing.
Glad you like them!
So cool👍🏻
Made a few this last weekend. Thanks!
awesome!
18:10 - "WAIT!! I'm just about to spray paint and fumes in an enclosed area - SAFETY FIRST!!....................................... I'd better close the laptop." Phew, that was a close one.
its not enclosed....well its enclosed but it has great ventilation
Lol...safety 1st...lol. Nope... Safety 2nd. If safety was number 1 we would never get anything done...but p.c. cost money...lol
Thank you so much for this! In an effort to open our haunt and be safe i wanted to make burlap masks so we can wear our PPE under and still be scary. This is perfect timing! Thank you thank you! Happy haunting! 👻🖤👻
Glad I could help!
Awesome awesome mask
I appreciate it
Did you actually use that much contact cement or did you switch cans during filming?
Im sure I switched cans lol- you saw me apply everything I used.
Love it man ideas a plenty!
you have all this stuff in Aussie land!
OMFG....I Love this..glad I found u!! I LOVE HALLOWEEN🎃BEEN GETN INTO CREATING MY OWN DECORATIONS WITH DOLLAR TREE ITEMS. Your videos a datailed yet quick and simple creative...THANK U
Thanks! I hope they help you and hope you have an awesome Halloween!
You sir are so creative intelligent brilliant awesome ❤love your ideas
Thank you so much 😀 you are too kind.
I like how it trun out keep up the work
thanks!
Another great project Allen. I love burlap/hessian scarecrow type props, especially masks. Can you do some gloves to go with it, using a similar process?
you absolutely can! ....or did you want me to do it?
Lol - it's much easier to watch you make them. Plus I just can't get enough of your safety first approach - it is truly incredible, in fact unbelievable.
Actually in the process of making one now using several layers of burlap over a skull paintball protective mask. Will have to email you photos when finished since I am no longer on Facebook.
awesome!
Awesome!
You are Amazing so cool what you do.love watching your vids ty.
Thank you so much! very kind comment!
Yes can’t wait to try and make one
do it!
Personally I would lean towards larger peices and if there were alot of smaller pieces I would think some of them would be a different material.
I also like long flowing fraying taters.
The nice thing about these is you can customize them any way you like!
I would have covered the nose with the spray sock too.
ok, i dont want my nose covered inside the mask, i want to breathe and stuff.
Simple but oooh so awesome
Thanks a lot 😊
Awesome. Mask
these are a lot of fun to make!
Just starting an attempt to make a burlap mask. You use the contact cement and mention the fumes, could you have used hot glue instead?
The closest we may get to a mummy mask, worth it!
Mummy wrap costume video just went up!
Just saw it and it was cool! Didn’t expect a leotard, but was really neat!
You should make a Cthulhu burlap mask.
That is a cool idea.....
I have to make one of these for a movie. But he wants it to be part jack o lantern. Could I use your spray foam skull method to make the pumpkin separately then attach them after its dry?
you can, or you could make the pumpkin first and use the burlap to hold it on while you make the mask.
Sublime
Awesome, Go make stuff!
Awesomeness
scarecrows are the best!
Can you make the headless horseman from sleepy hollow? Please and thank you? Full body
very cool i have tons of Burlap guess i'm going to have start using it ! HFL!!
YES- they throw that stuff away and it makes a great look. Scarecrows are a favorite, keep them coming!
Looks kinda like the fiji mermaid
i guess, there are lots of fiji mermaids- most of their heads are monkeys.
👏👏👏👏
Dope I learned a lot...thank u
Glad to hear it
Wow easy. So cool.
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks like a sleestak from land of the lost but burlap
no it doesn't, but I could make that lol.
I love it!
thanks!
Have you visited Castle Blood? They used to be right beside where I lived. Been there many times. Grizzly is a good guy!
I have- they are awesome people.
nice...
Wicked awesome !
Thank you! Cheers!
i read the links
Love this so much 💞
Make you one!
How do you get the wrinkles out of the burlap once treated with glue or stiffener?
I dont treat it before I make it, and I want wrinkles....maybe more question words?
DAM son ,check you out !...thats BADASS lookin Allen !
Thank you!
UPDATE ! : ...after following this vid along with matrials, making a KILLER display myself ,it only lasted in my yard for 4 days :( .....cause someone thought it looked SO badass . THEY JACKED IT last nite! ...gone.I had a handfull of acrylic fangs in it & it was knarly !
Hi do you have any suggestions for scary mermaid skeleton aquarium? How do i get them to float in water and stay in place? Thx
what size is this? I would most likely anchor it down with clear fishing line.
@@StiltbeastStudios Oh thank you thats what i brought the mermaids are 12 inches and the aquarium is like 2 1/2 feet tall its tall and thin .
Ok I'm on a budget and trying to use what I have. Could I use Elmer's rubber cement? Sorry if this is a foolish question
I dont know, I have not used it the same way but you can certainly experiment
@@StiltbeastStudios will do. Thanks for getting back to me
Love it
thanks realms!
this is epic thanks
thank you kindly!
Dig it
Where did you get you hot glue gun?
get the 300 watts
glu-stix-online.com/collections/glue-guns/products/adjustable-temperature-hot-melt-glue-gun?variant=7903353569333
Thank you so much
how do you thin contact cement?
Xylene its sold in the paint dept.
Why did you let the contact cement dry?
thats what makes contact cement work. apply to both sides and let dry then put them together with force. it does not work well if you put them together when the glue is wet.
@@StiltbeastStudios You learn something new every day! Thanks Allen.
First get a heat gun
pool noodles then GO- start creating all kinds of creations!!!
do it!
I just found my Hero 😢
Im a fine example but a poor role model lol.
Deep in the dark and the moonlight , deep in the dark and the dim, deep from the throat comes a growling that speaks of evil and sin.
The moon a bloody yellow , as the Autumn leaves by winds are blown swirling around the feet and ankles
In dust devils on the woodland trail.
A rush of movement from the darkened bushes , a scream she lay dead on the woodland floor , the Autumn leaves blowing over her , she will walk this path no more.
He crys his tortured soul to the
Obscene orb in the sky , his teeth a filthy yellow , his eyes the color of urine
Blood ,red like ruby's drip from his muzzle , drips from mouth and chin
Blood red like ruby fire in the moonlight laying on thoat and lace
A locket she held in her hand , in it a picture of her lover , it was a picture of him.
The cruelness of jealousy her rival
In loves embrace wanted him , not winning in fair competition in dark powers seeked her revenge.
Now I feel all spooky!
For the teeth I think if you just snap them with your hands it would make jaggy ugly teeth and Make your scarecrow even more horrifying.
unfortunately the grain of the popsicle stick causes pretty even breaking that way.
Some of us read the description for "hidden" gems!
im an instruction reader lol
I need a real scarecrow mask from batman begins from tylerdelaire
with this tutorial, the power is yours!
Hello😊 great video!!!! Will be making this mask for this Halloween. I won’t be doing a head mold. What would I have to do differently if using a wig styrofoam head instead. Will check out the channel and subscribe 👍👍 thank you
just have the worlds smallest head to fit in it. they are just too small. you could buy a mannequin head, or beef up the mens wig head with spray foam- there is not much hope if you use the alien looking wig head, they are waaay too small.
@@StiltbeastStudios ok thank you for responding 👍 I think I’ll try the spray foam idea and take measurements of my head. Hopefully I can get a good fit. Thanks again
go make stuff
