Tub Nut is 1-11/16" and loosened to the right (left hand thread) To hold the transmission in a vice, cut a 6" piece of 2x4 wood. Drill a 1" hole in the center, then cut it in half through the center of the hole. You now have two pieces of wood that can clamp the transmission shaft in a vice. The transmission bearing is 6205-2RS-1, it has a 1" inside diameter. When you replace the bearing you can hammer in the new one with the old bearing. The bell housing with the new bearing should be tight to the shaft after re install. If you can move it up and down use some red Loctite or peen the shaft with a nail or set punch to hold the new bearing tight to the transmission shaft. If you want to make sure the bearing is protected from any water leaking from the tub down onto it you can install a boot (seal) over the transmission before install the bell housing. Its recommend using Permatex 20539 Indian Head Gasket Shellac for the tub seal. I used JB weld because I am cheap.
You just have to drive that bearing out of that lower housing and buy a new bearing and carefully hammer it back in it using a steel shaft. There is a number on the bearing so you can use that for a reference when buying the new bearing. When tapping it into place make sure to only tap on the out race (outer ring) of the bearing to avoid damaging it.
Use a Dremel tool with a small cutoff wheel to remove the 4 staked areas holding the bearing in, and then press out the bearing. Not difficult at all. Replace with a new sealed bearing of the same dimensions. Use a bit of Loctite on the outer periphery of the bearing if it's a loose fit.
Hello! I'm searching for the central tube, but what i found is all the part, the transmission and brake assembly. I just need the tube, the dark part. Do you kow where i can find it?
Bearing number is 6205-2rs and it is replaceable. Part number is printed written on the rubber side once you remove all the dirt. Hope this is helpful?
I managed to destroy the retaining ring for the clutch. After a lot of searching, I found a replacement, and this video lol. J&E WRIST PIN RETAINER SPIRAL 1.081 IN. DIAMETER .042 IN. THICK # 990-042-CS. I paid $2.50 for 1 from Pit-Stop-Gang on ebay. Also ordered the wrong bearing using the part number on the bearing. Turns out that there are two or more sizes with the same part number. Wish I found this video first because Todd specifies that it needs to be 1 inch. Do not order the 25mm inner diameter bearing. Thank you for the video, Really helps a bunch.
I have a he washer and all I want to know is can I refill the transmission with fluid and replug it? It popped out and fluid spilled out but the machine runs fine.
I'm not a technician, but I would try your fix. Run a trial wash and situate the machine where you can see the transmission. Put some kind of pan under the transmission and watch for leaks. No leaks-good, but leave the pan there anyway.
Yes you can change the top and bottom seal and add crown vict rear differential put some silicon and change the bearing with any bearing of any car the it became new gearbox
Press the bearing out, it should have a part number which you can use to get replacement. The replacement bearing will need to be repressed to cover plate. I've done this before, bearings are all replaceable and fairly available at most auto parts that has a real shop press and machines. Hope this will help you all?

As long as it reduces friction, guides and support weight its a bearing. A sleeve bushing is categorize as a friction bearing.

What gear oil is used in these transmissions?
75w-90
@@bobsoft I could've sworn whirlpool used 90w in theirs.
@@jeromedavis8575 I guess you will know when you drain it.
@@bobsoft I do have some whirlpool gear oil and it seems to be very viscous. it does smell like GE washer gear oil.
