Jeez, it's almost like Resistance is based off a similiar time period and their art design reflects that. Jesus Christ, the ability to fire off a weapon and detonate it at varying distances was already in games for like a decade+ like in Unreal Tournament... And a shield wall isn't exactly innovative. In fact the shield is the least innovative part of the specific gun you're referring to. By that metric Resistance is just a shitty Halo clone since Halo had shield walls in the first game; they were just static.
That's an animated 2D screen. A lot of games use that as their skyboxes or when implying that a large area is there but the game engine can't render it.
I'd love a PC re-release of Resistance, Killzone, Motorstorm, Wipeout series and many more great exclusives from PS3 era. Shame that they're stuck on a dead console.
