I haven't seen the Rigloo before, is the wall just like a tent? I would of thought that was acoustically transparent. I am surprised that even double layers would drop 19 DB!
Have you thought about developing this into a study? I think that it would be worthwhile to see how auscultation can be improved in noisy environments. I'm not sure about the practicality of carrying around a rescue shelter/tent though, paramedics have enough to carry already! On a related note, what do you think of digital stethoscopes like the Littman CORE? I'm slightly deaf and I worry about missing or misinterpreting heart sounds when I'm auscultating but I'm not sure if its worth investing in a digital stethoscope when I already have a good standard one.
