@@Proust451 NOT TRUE. In 2023, Harvard's average admit rate for legacy students was 34%. Those families give millions to the schools. The kids admitted made the grades and can do the work. The anti-White, anti-Asian policies admits others who flunk out after a year or two, because they can't do the work. That is not doing them any favor. That is always left out.

What’s overlooked by these reporters is that Black enrollment at other elite universities, such as Stanford and Yale, has remained stable or even increased (wealthy black students are choosing these schools over Harvard). Attributing the decline at Harvard Law solely to Black applicants being ‘less prepared’ is both inaccurate and reductive. This data reflects deeper, intertwined issues of race and class. Historically entrenched economic disparities-which disproportionately affect Black communities-still shape access to high-quality educational opportunities long before students apply to law school. Moreover, legacy admissions and wealth-driven recruitment strategies at institutions like Harvard tend to favor students from the highest income brackets, regardless of race. As a result, poor and working-class students of all backgrounds remain underrepresented. The issue isn’t a lack of preparedness among Black applicants; it’s the structural inequalities that limit who even gets a fair shot at these elite spaces.
boohoo. if they were any good, they would get in. now the playing field is leveled and---surprise!!--their numbers have gone down. it is a skill issue, not an issue with the system.
how many black people applied? how many accepted their acceptance? i ask for a friend ;) is harvard not the best law school to go to for that generation? was law a real concern at that point across the board? what other information do i need to judge this "breaking news story" correctly? IS there a media presence at harvard that is preventing black people from being accepted due to political purposes (both sides can benefit from this criminally). There just isnt enough information in this story. the reporters really did NO JUSTICE TO FREEDOM OF THE PRESS! lazy mfs.
NBC10 Boston CORRECTION: The number of Black students starting at Harvard Law School has hit a 60-year low, since all must now actually qualify for admittance.
did Asian student enrollment increase?
Oh so now you have to work for your education and actually test well to get accepted like everyone else?
Harvard was never just letting folks get in just because. Stop that
Half get in because a parent went there

Yeah you should apply
It's about the undeniable advantage of inherited economic privilege.
I commit to hiring Black and Brown grads only.
Now that laws make that possible.
Like the students admitted? Or students applied?
They must not like it there

No more racist race based admissions is a good thing because it doesn’t allow for discrimination against certain people based on their ethnicity.

Wonder why
*(hopes that a future Supreme Court will overturn the "no affirmative action" ruling)* 🙏
Or students should try to do better and get in on merit.
