There’s a lot of guardrails against insider trading, up to and including shutting down trading until everything is figured out. On the topic of encrypted messaging, iphones latest update, iOs 18.1 and higher, now provides encryption between iphone and android devices. Android to Android (using Google messages), and iPhone to iPhone (using Apples default messaging app) has been secure and encrypted for some time now.
I’m far more concerned about the American government and the ruthless corporations that actually govern my life accessing, tracking, and manipulating my data.
Why not both at once? One concern feels immediate, while the other feels like a lesser threat. Never underestimate your enemies. That's how they get one up on you.
I’ve been using Signal, which is encrypted and easy. I think they only asked once or twice to upload my contacts in the very beginning and I said no and I haven’t been asked again. I also use WhatsApp, which is encrypted and easy.
Are we to assume the US isn't hacking China and other countries?
If there is anything characteristic of the americans is their double standards
Jesus Christ this expert's security advice is horrendous. This guy should not be taken seriously.
The American government does this to literally everyone we know I’m sure. Watching the NYT clutch their pearls about this is honestly funny
yeah but then we couldn't perpetuate the victim mentality because po' ol' amewica is so helpless and innocent
. . ."clutch their pearls." I like that image.

I don't think anyone's denying that, nor is there any implication on the moral aspect of this.
What a doozy. I wonder if the governments demand for a “back door” was the master password mentioned that granted access.
Turns out they didn't need tiktok to access our phones 😮
would appreciate a DATE of the hack within the first 5 min of the pod thanks
Go search "wikipedia salt typhoon" and you will see many dates going back to 2020. It's not a single-day event, it's a multi-year infiltration.

Why doesn’t China listening to the business dealings between companies and short stocks that’s how they could bring down the stock market

that’s dumb. The American government doesn’t give a single shit about your data and the “ruthless corporations” just want to serve you targeted ads.

This is like a Pole saying they aren’t concerned about Bolsheviks because there are Nazis
You can worry about all of that though. Why pick one or the other? I'm certainly concerned about both.
Nope, I am not using encrypted apps to communicate. They're annoying, and they try to push you to invite people. Nope, encryption apps suck.
