Oblivion had a big impact on me as a kid, the Shivering Isles especially. It bewildered me as I’ve never seen such bizarre concepts at that age and it just completely enthralled me into that world. Playing through The Shivering Isles the first time as a kid will most likely be one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had with a game and may not change ever. Btw really been enjoying your videos. They take me back to the place of when I was absolutely in love with this game. Keep up the great work everyone here appreciates it
Thank you for the support! I really appreciate it! I didn’t mention it in the video, but I never completed the shivering isles so I’m really excited to see it all the way through!
Ah, I remember playing the Shivering Isles quest line during that one playthrough when I played a Nord berserker who was wanted for murdering a bunch of Legion soldiers. Good questline!
One of my favovite things about the shivering isles was how it sounds like the voice actors had a lot of fun with the new characters and had more freedom to make them all feel more unique since there werent as many characters as the base game
This video has played at least 6 times today while I was doing various chores and I’ve listened to it intently each time. Can’t wait for you to post more Shivering Isles content!
What a wonderful thing to wake up to. Can't wait to see the rest of the videos on this DLC! I actually am unable to play it myself for the time being. I've been streaming the game and they don't have The Shivering Isles, but I can do Knights of the Nine at least lol
I remember that since Gaius is essential, you can hit him as many times as you want. So one thing I would do as a kid was to sneak-attack Gaius at every opportunity (I was playing an assassin character at the time, I think). This is when I found out NPCs don't repair their stuff. See, when you hit an NPC in armor, you lower its durability. Normally, you don't _see_ anything happen, since their armor always starts at 100% durability. But in a case like this, the durability gradually gets eaten away. Until eventually, he's just standing there in his regular clothes. When Jayred revealed that the Gatekeeper is weak to the bones of other Gatekeepers, I assumed that the other creatures in the Shivering Isles had a similar weakness. I remember wandering around the Isles for hours trying to find someone who could make Shamble-bone arrows, Hunger-bone arrows, Grummite-bone arrows, etc. See, ever since I was a kid, I was a collector of sorts, hoarding unique items. I distinctly remember going out of my way to watch Relmyna break down in tears, just so I could add a bottle of her tears to my collection of rare items. I remember doing a similar thing with the Turpentine you get during "A Brush With Death", as well as the Daedric Lava Whiskey you can get with Frostcrag Spire; I even collected the bottles of Human Blood in the pale lady's lair. I had a house in Bruma at the time, and I remember having all four of the aforementioned bottles sitting on a table downstairs, as a "display", of sorts. And after getting the Gatekeeper-bone Arrows, I was hoping to add the other hypothetical bone arrows to my collection, as well; I was especially fond of collecting unique and/or enchanted arrows, since it's so rare to find unique arrows specifically, and you can't enchant arrows yourself in the base game, so they naturally became highly sought-after in my case. As for the Gatekeeper itself (himself?), I've always associated it with Murulo's "100 Ways to Die in Oblivion", in which the Gatekeeper was the one who provided the "Being a Football" death. Good times :D P.S: For those wondering: If you talk to the Orc Captain as he's running away (after losing all his troops), he says: "He's too much! _Killed_ all my men! _Get out of my way!"_ Edit: Added some context to the whole "bone arrows" thing.
This expansion blew the base game away, it was so good. The intro was incredible. Oblivion is probably my least favorite of the series so far (mostly because coming from Morrowind, the environment was just boring to me) but Shivering Isles is probably my favorite expansion of the series.

I hope you enjoyed! It’s been really fun so far!
Someone should've convinced the Orc adventurer that his crew was no match for the Gatekeeper!
The Gatekeeper: "GET OFF OF MY LAWN!!"
I really wish I caught up to him to have a little chat! 😂

Okay
One of the best DLCs ever.
So far it’s been great!
@@ABardsBallad I’m glad to hear it. There are a couple of bumps in the road, but overall it’s well worth doing.
Some of these guys are making some really valid points though.
In the wise words of Jayren, I don’t believe in magic, but I do believe in bones
No! Not like this! Take me unawares!
Tomorrow 👀
glad you did this my friend
I’m glad to have finally gotten around to it as well! :)
just ordered some food so please post part 2 before it gets here

Subbed for shivering isles
I'd of like to see more flushed out hackdirt and the deep ones
are the shivering isles cold?
I’ve had the same thought 🤔
Nice
Yay
Hope you enjoyed!
Another series, say less!
Hope you enjoyed! :)
