As much as my heart yearns for an Eclipse COUPE, however, I need Mitsubishi to stay alive in the US marketplace, and if this is the only way to do it, so be it. I'd rather see Mitsubishi do what they think is best for themselves so that we will hopefully get what we want in the future.
Loyalmoonie I believe it's called Eclipse Cross cause in the future they will make another version called Eclipse Coupe hopefully
Liam Garcia all we can do is wait and see. That being said, I was told (according to the salesman who sold me my 2014 Lancer) that Mitsubishi is considering a new Galant sedan for the US market...but it's not going to occur for now, since they would have to share an assembly plant with Nissan's US facility, and Mitsubishi's still working the bugs out following the closure of their Normal, IL. assembly plant.
MITSUs alliance with Nissan and Renault assures the future is bright. Next coupe probably be a rebadge 370z or something along those lines.

Donell Clemons AGREED! I have a 2000 Eclipse GT and I was HOPING they'd bring out a 2018 version, like the one on the prototype picture, which showed one, online a few years, ago. I don't cate for this. Smh
Don't give up hope. There is always the chance they will bring back the eclipse coupe. The Evo I doubt because the millennials can't afford to buy sports cars. Too busy paying off student loans and the middle aged are just getting old and planning for retirement. lol

After owning a 3000GT Twin Turbo AWD from Mitsubishi, I now bought a 2019 AWD 1.5T Eclipse Cross, best buy IMO for years to come, I'm tired of gas guzzlers!

The Pontiac Aztec did the double glass. If you could figure out weird Mitsubishi entertainment system. That looked so odd

The volume knob is the touch pad. You use 2 fingers and slide them up and down on the pad to increase or decrease the volume

Justin Brown HaHaHa I was thinking the same thing! In fairness to Mitsubishi tho, the ORIGINAL Montero they made thirty years ago looked fine as well. I'm shocked that the interior on this actually looks worthy of an entry level vehicle in the North American market...refreshing change for the company.
I hate the back.
To put the engine specs in perspective:
This vehicle makes 152 HP, with a curb weight of 3500.
By comparison, the Mazda CX-3 makes 148 HP, with a curb weight of 2950.

The rear end Is the most polarizing part of the car.
The rear is reminiscent of the Pontiac Aztec.

It may be a reminiscence of the Aztec, but this vehicle is has a much better look to it. The Aztec was a horrible looking suv.
I use to have a 97 Eclipse Spyder and I miss it terribly. I had it for over 11 years and it treated me well.
Definitely consider taking it offroad. The look of the cross has grown on me. its no different from the Juke and Toyota Chr. with a unique type of styling.
It looks nice. I like these types a videos a lot.

Love the Cross will probably buy one. I’ve had: 99 eclipse, 03 eclipse spyder, 08 eclipse, 15 Lancer, 16 Outlander (current), 17 Lancer Anniversary Ed (current). Their vehicles are so reliable, only cost of repairs across the above listed vehicles was a motor mount and a thermostat I replaced myself for $34! Love Mitsubishi will always drive one. Now that Nissan/Renault are in control I hope to see more life in the brand.
gunstar1981 so nice to see another Mitsubishi fan. We have this and it's great. I love this little crossover. I don't golf so don't care that clubs don't fit in the back, but I do have 2 Newfoundland dogs & they fit great (Sears down of corse). We have a 97 3000GT VR4 & recently sold a 99 3000GT base. I read so many people bitching about a volume knob....seriously? There are 3 ways to change the volume in this vehicle. Get over it. Ugh. Rant over. 😁
Leigh Mackie I am a huge Mitsu fan it’s nice to meet another! Id love to own a 3kgt, or an FTO. I’ve never seen a really nice to buy yet but I’m always on the lookout. People complain about the stupidest stuff lol, and like you said Mitsu gives you a ton of ways to do it!
The outlander sport is the best seller they make. I see them everywhere. I got the 2018 for 18,900 You can't go wrong with all wheel drive for that price.

Mitsubishi has some good ideas but sometimes forget they're still around. I remember when honda crx had see through hatch panel.
I saw one of these in white on the road today. Definitely made a hard double take. The exterior reminds me of a mix between the CRV and range rover evoque. The mazda cx-5 touring is still on the top of my list though from comparing interiors
I love the Red Diamond Paint. I really like the styling and dual pane rear glass. I like the front and rear! I like the interior a lot but I think all that stuff should come standard on the top trim SEL instead of having to add another few grand to the price. But overall I love everything about it. Nice!!! tony d Oh did you buy one. I love the Eclipse Cross in that color. It will be our next SUV in a year or so to replace our 16 Outlander Sport GT (only has 8,000 miles still like new). Glad our happy with it! Whats your favorite thing about it?
I like how it handles the road. It rides amazing in the highway and my experience driving it in the snow was just great. It is not about going fast, it is more taking corners and going off road with no doubt that it will perform well. Honestly, the S-AWC technology makes it unique. ....and in addition to all that, it looks beautiful.

Interior design sucks but the outside isnt bad- really prefer a more streamlined minimalistic cabin- if Mitsu had done that id actually say good job on this car.

As someone who had a 98 eclipse gsx as their first car, it saddens me that the name plate has been relegated to this garbage. Hopefully when gas hits $5 a gallon here in the US we will get fun CARS again. There are enough bland crossovers in the market.

Tony Chau Agreed, reality is a cruel mistress. Fortunately, there are still a few cars that offer 3 pedals and enough power to satisy, this list is shrinking each model year though as I'm sure you are aware. As nice as android auto or apple carplay is most people don't realize it can be added to a great older car with a personality. You would think this would be obvious but my younger friends seem to struggle with the concept.
The Cross does come in a manual, they just won't bring it to USA because they can't sell them. This car is definitely geared towards daily commuters that want a little "extra" room in the states.
I actually considered this vehicle because of the awesome AWC system, but the back of the car reminded to much of a Pontiac Aztek. So I went for the Subaru Crosstrek.

I bought a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander sport and would have waited for this if it was a manual but it's not so I got the Outlander sport since it's a manual and decent gas mileage

I feel like Mitsubishi doesn't even try here in the US :| Put the Eclipse name on a uh... REAL Eclipse GST / GSX. Bring the EVO back, bring the 4x4 options from international pickings, and just watch them sell again.

Mitsu doesn’t have reliability issues. It’ll be average or above average, especially now that it’s a Nissan product. Nectar, I think your being over dramatic. The dealer network is about the same as other manufacturers. Do some research.
