    Why are these cars constantly going in/out of the shop....the 600 LT is very sharp but I would get tired of dealing with ongoing issues with the car

  • @denniseusebio4061

    Since you’ve tried both the 720s and 600lt spider, which would you choose? They’re similar priced used at this point.

      I adore the 720S but the 600LT feels a little more special. I do prefer the exterior of the 720s though.

      Great review, bro. Lots of car journalists and 600LT owners share similar thoughts and views on the car. Ferrari is my favorite supercar brand. But there are some things I like better about McLaren supercars. And one of those include the way their doors open. I think it's pretty cool that the doors of every supercar McLaren produce opens different from conventional cars. And I think that's how it should be with those exotic machines (especially those costing $200k or more). It shouldn't be just about going faster than you can in a regular car. Rather, for me, it's the overall experience that seperates those exotic machines from regular ones. I'd choose the 720s or 765LT, though.

    I must admit... It's a beauty. Yet, it's also very British. So reliabilty still remains a question.
    And all that carbon fiber gives me some anxiety... a lot of anxiety btw.
    Idk... I think I would pick the C8 and keep money in the pocket.

    • @forrestsautoreviewsofficial
      @forrestsautoreviewsofficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      True, however, like I tell everyone, the C8 is the car for people who think $300,000 is a lot of money. If I made 3-5 million a year, I’d probably always pick a McLaren over a C8 simply because I can. The carbon fiber and all the expensive bit are exactly that; expensive. The whole car is meant to be a premium experience reserved for those that can afford it. Having recently driven the C8 I can confirm that this remains true. The C8 was great but it wasn’t as buttoned down, responsive, or as fast as this. The 0-60 time is it’s party trick but once you take it through corners, something like this McLaren starts to show its superiority. That being said, the future Z06 & ZR1 will be another story but they will also be in another price bracket closer to what you see here (assuming around $85-$200k especially once we get to the ZR1 variant). Also, keep in mind that this was released prior to the C8. I can’t imagine these supercar brands will sit back while the C8 takes all the glory. They will definitely start offering vehicles that feel even more supercar-like, even when compared to the C8.

      Did you really just talk about British build quality and then say you'd pick an American built c8..
      Oh the irony

    I don't know why anyone would buy an McLaren when they can buy a Corvette for a lot less money 💰

    • @ZapFlashD
      @ZapFlashD 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think exclusivity has a lot to do with why someone would choose a McLaren 600LT or a Lamborghini Aventador over a Chevy Corvette.

    • @forrestsautoreviewsofficial
      @forrestsautoreviewsofficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ZapFlashD Exaclty. The Corvette is a great, GREAT machine for people who think $60,000-$90,000 is a lot of money. When money isn't an issue, McLaren and Lamborghini offer more exclusive options that not just anybody can have. It's one of those situations that allows you to separate yourself from the sea of people who will have Corvettes. A store-bought & home-cooked new york strip may be an incredible bargain for the majority of people in the world but if someone has the money to get a 5-star prepared new york strip, they're most likely going to do it. It doesn't matter whether or not the 5-star steak is better or worse than the talented person who cooked it at home, it's all about the experience. The same goes for cars.

      Allan Catellier
      90% of the people out there would say the same thing but for the distinguished driving enthusiast the C8 Corvette experience won’t even come close to measuring up. For starters the Mclaren is uniquely built (like an actual race car )around a very expensive, extremely light weight, very strong carbon tub which gives it better safety more rigidity, and allows this car to weigh just over 3,000lbs versus 3,600lbs for the Corvette. Then there are the details, this car is one of the last remaining vehicles to have hydraulic steering for the absolute most amount of road feel possible coming through the steering giving maximum road feel and making other cars feel numb in comparison, it’s flat plane crank engine revs significantly higher than the Corvettes much less sophisticated engine. All of these things cost money and make the driving experience that much better than something that has to be built to a cost like the Corvette and that saying nothing about the fact that this 600LT isn’t a compromised design like the C8 which has been regarded by many as having anonymous/knock-off supercar styling because of the fact that it had to have 2 useable trunks for golf clubs etc so they didn’t alienate they’re old time buyers or customers who don’t have multiple cars in their fleet and may use it as a daily. And lastly this Mclaren has performance on another level when compared to what the Corvette (currently) offers..... they may have similar 0-60 times (because everything nowadays is fast to 60MPH) and even with a lot better power to weight ratio you are traction limited but past 60MPH this Mclaren would leave the C8 in the dust as it is almost a full second quicker through the 1/4 mile and traveling about 15MPH faster (an eternity in 1/4 mile trap speeds and would be bus lengths ahead)
      So to answer your question for folks that money isn’t an issue the Corvette doesn’t measure up and there is a difference that may not be justified to the majority of people but if you take driving very seriously and have the money there you go. I’m sure other C8 variants will come out and be better and higher performing but they will certainly be more expensive and will still lack certain aspects (such as the carbon construction) of the Mclaren, not to mention I’m sure Mclaren will continue to evolve their product at a rapid rate as it has continued to do all along
