We can get buttermilk in the store here in Winnipeg. I am glad to know that you are from Malaysia because I was from Malaysia too but my family and I are currently residing in Winnipeg, Canada. Hi Neshi. I am so happy to hear from a Malaysian because it's so rare. Yes you're absolutely right. Milk+vinegar is buttermilk. Buttermilk in Malaysia is very costly for a small carton, so the best way to save cost is to make it out of 2 cheaper ingredients. Malaysia has a lot of cafes opened in the past few years that serve a lot of delectable cakes and desserts, and I am very inspired by some of the local bakers as well. My friends who were mostly from Malaysia would prefer to order from me because I usually will try to make cakes that are similar to the ones in Malaysia especially the frosting. The buttercream frosting here is usually too sweet. So I try to make whipped cream , creamcheese or Italian meringue buttercream frostings which are less sweeter. Your cakes are absolute delight and the outcome is always successful. I even tried your Orange Almond Semolina Cake which was delicious. Thank you so much for all the recipes again. I hope we can meet one day when I make a trip to Malaysia.🤗🤗😘
