Why did every time i tried to make the petals, i always ended up with 13 petals instead of 12 petals even though i do 12 double crochet in the beginning?? Can someone pls explain

Maybe you stitch with the yellow 2 Times in the first Black stich, one time in the beginning and one at the ending of your row.
