Since I saw your first video last evening I have been watching all your videos and taking notes. Your training is spot on. The feeding thing is new to me. But I am going to try it and start out now with our current Golden "puppy mill" rescue. We are waiting for our Toller puppy in a few months and the breeder has already mentioned feeding things that are brand new to us. I'm so thankful for your videos and for your dedication to all things dog. Where can I get the t-shirt??

My biggest thing is to make sure you have a socialization plan in place before your puppy is don’t with shots. Obviously wait to socialize until all vaccs are finished for puppy’s safety but don’t wait to start planning it out. I got my puppy in the middle of winter so it’s something I wish I would of planned out better because he still have some issues/fear when meeting new people or dogs
SandiPfitness very, very good point. In general, planning ahead is key! And puppies grow so fast, you’re right, have a solid socialization plan in place is massively important. Thank you for sharing love!
For sure it’s definitely one of those things where you know it’s a must but don’t realize how much logistics it actually requires as a first time puppy parent :)

Man, I’m getting my puppy in three weeks and I was worried I was missing something, but this video helped to ease my stress! I’ve got my puppy enrolled in training already, have her set up for a vet appointment 2 days after I get her, and have everything mentioned.

Hi Rachel! My husband and I are getting a puppy this December! I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm binge watching all the videos lol! My husband had a dog previously, and now she's my dog. She's six. She is now house broken, except for carpet. She is not allowed in carpeted areas without our supervision. She hasn't been crate trained. Currently working on it with your advice on feeding her & some obedience training in and around her crate. She is getting more comfortable in being in it! Much much faster that I thought. She has some confidence issues, but I'll continue to watch your other videos. ♥

I dont know if a lot of people know this but iv heard and seen from cesar millan that your not actually supposed to use a harness (different with puppies and also depends on your dog) but their natural instinct when something is strapped around their body is to pull just like when huskys pull a sled for example so a better option is a secure slip lead round the upper part of the neck (not around the throat of course). Apparently the harness also builds their excitement by pulling their body back rather than correcting their behaviour , found this helpful , hope it is for anyone who reads this haha :)

I have a burning question, my dog is a Maltese, so genetically, would it be better to feed her a raw/fresh diet compared to a fully grown German shepherd?
Layla Rodrigues all dogs of all sizes and ages, in my opinion & experience, need a biologically appropriate diet. Which to me means raw, fresh foods! Nobody thrives on highly processed carb filled foods, not even our pets 😍

This video was SO informative!!! Another thing that I would recommend, however, when bringing a new dog home is to “puppy-proof” your house to make sure there isn’t anything harmful your dog could get in to (for their safety, or course). Also, Finn trying to get the toothbrush made my day 😂 Keep up the good work 👍

is using a bristly dog toothbrush a good idea its a chew toy with a hole in the top where you pour their toothpaste in and when the dog chew the bristles rub against the dogs teeth and there a small holes under the bristles that dispenses toothpaste and cleans your dogs teeth plus it has handles so the dog can easily get a grip

I am getting a puppy this week and love your videos. Little bit surprised and disappointed by this list, was hoping it would be more descriptive for some of us beginners. No mention of poo bags, shampoo? etc. I am still trying to find basic info like how often to bath/clean the puppy, how often to feed (I heard you said in other video could be 3-4 times a day, but how do I determine that?) And would be nice to get a break down of a full detailed plan what to expect or do first 24hrs or week. Just my thoughts anyways. Thank you again for your great videos, I keep diggin and watching more of them!
Most I had to learn on my own just using common sense and observations from breeder. One dog purchased from a pet store was a big mistake. I did have a good vet. Thank God. I've learned a lot watching these shows.

I'm getting a new puppy. She will be ready to come home next month. I work as a bather for a groomer. We do boarding, daycare, and grooming (obviously 🙄) would taking her to work with me while keeping her maybe in the grooming room away from the other larger dogs a hood idea?

PetSmart's brand Simply Nourish sells freeze dried beef liver, as well as freeze dried chicken that are amazing. The only ingredient is the beef liver or chicken, depending on which you choose.

We lost our Bichon a month ago...deep sadness..i found a new puppy..just born..my husband and I are 75 and 73 respectively. After watching your videos, I am in panic about the responsibility of raising a new puppy. I have had several dogs, the last 2 were rescued Bichons that were year old..any advice? We live on 22 acres of beautiful land, we are retired..
We had the privilege of adopting a family members 5 month old puppy. she is a German Shepard and your videos have helped so much! we are on day 3 of potty training with your technique and she hasnt had an accident in the house in a few days! we have been working on crate training the correct way (after starting the typical way of just putting her in at night) i am so grateful for your knowledge because now she loves being in her crate and will hangout in their for fun! we have been working on leave it, sit and down and she catches on so fast! Thank you for all that you do and all the knowledge you share!
