Elvis was so captivating on stage. It's impossible to listen to his performances on stage and not feel compelled to keep your eyes on him throughout. He was truly one-of-a-kind. Thank you for another great reaction.

TTWIS is my go to place, when I want to be uplifted. Think I mentioned before I was 16/17 when this film came out,up until that time I'd only ever seen Elvis in the movies,it was much later when we saw the 68 Special. When Elvis came on the screen as himself I was mesmerized.OMG so gorgeous and charismatic and that voice. Couldn't get enough, saw it 12 times in 2 weeks,Twice in one day once.I am now 70 and it still has the same effect on me.I will love him till the day I die and hopefully into eternity.❤ 🌹

Good morning Nick! Just listening to Elvis is an experienced all in itself. One is permitted to close their eyes and absorb each luscious note as his voice slides effortlessly up and down the scales. Watching him broadens the senses ten fold; the ever shaking leg, the smiles, his body picking up and emulating the sound of each instrument. I am reminded of a very small paragraph that I read once, in a collection of small paragraphs of people who had met, known or worked with Elvis. It is necessary that I paraphrase a woman who recalled watching a young, blonde Elvis walk through her door as the last one in behind his friends. After describing his dress and demeanor, she said “I found it impossible to hear what he was saying while looking at him.” That very intriguing statement resonated with me. I think we all must sort of swap out our senses while experiencing him in a live performance. Thanks Nick! It’s always so rewarding to revisit these clips with you. Beautiful insight!

He’s incredible. I’m always a bit sad when I can’t find a live performance and it’s just a slide show or an album cover. Watching him live: he’s just in another level!

Elvis was a master of his own music. He knew how to control his orchestra and his backup singers. Absolute brilliant performer who had no formal training. Self taught. Such a unique human being.😅

I love this song so very much.
The lyrics are so very true and sad. Elvis is a wonderful storyteller. The music combined with Elvis`s voice is extremely powerful. I love both the recorded and the live versions.
    YES, WE`VE LOST YOU, ELVIS!
Although it`s more than four decades ago that he left us, I still miss him terribly.
There are moments when I`m so sad that he isn`t with us anymore that it pierces my heart.
Thank you for another beautiful Elvis reaction.🙏❤

Good Morning! And to the birds, too. I was glad to see that this version on stage did have the sqeak of the overhead equipment & not the one where someone deleted that sound, which makes no sense, besides leaving you to wonder why he looked up in surprise. At 8:26-8:28 did you pick up the little movement he did & a very slight laugh -- it was his very subtle way to joke about the word "stumble" for the line "you will stumble to the door." Rarely does anyone realizes it. Which shows that even on a song such as this he could make little jokes. How great everyone worked together is amazing! Another great one that doesn't get many requests or play. Until next Sunday, have a good week ahead.

This is one of my favourite Elvis songs, I love the live version. He sounds as good live as in the studio maybe even better. Thank you so much for your Elvis Sunday, I look forward to watching it with my morning coffee. “It’s Midnight” is a very good song off his Promise Land album, there is a live version on TH-cam from 1974. Thank you for this reaction, love hearing the studio version and the live version right after. Looking forward to next Sunday morning.

If you want something a little different, try "Raised on Rock." It was written for Elvis and sung by him about his growing up with music. Great song, a bit different. The first time I heard it I listened over and over again - I couldn't stop. It will "get" you I think. It's another great song/performance that is relatively unknown. I don't think he ever did it live though.

The second part of the refrain is a bit difficult to understand, particularly on the studio version. Took me years to figure it out, for anyone who can't it's:
We ought to talk it over now
"But reason can't stand in for feeling oh"

Another good choice and reaction/analysis Nick. I def prefered the live version. I'm a sap for the somber tunes too as I think Elvis was really at his best doing them, it seemed to suite him naturally and he connected to them surely. I'll tip my tea to ya and bid you farewell until the next one. Cheers ☕

I've never heard that song before. What a lovely song. Thanks for covering this one Nick. That is the second time you have done a song that is new to me, so it certainly pays to tune in with you each week to see what other surprises you may have in store. His live versions of songs are always so good. He put his whole self into every song he sang on stage, and this is another prime example of that. My family gave me the TTWII set for Christmas and although I have watched it, I don't recall this song being on it. As mentioned in my first sentence, I've not heard this previously. Thanks Nick, great reaction from you, light but insightful.

I think Elvis great voice he had in 1970 was unfortunately too often wasted on songs I don't think the songs very good but the production isn't quite there on them all makes almost sound really good (and the live version was much better)probably just needs a sharper producer at the helm or Elvis to choose to finesse it a bit more, I think the problem during this time was Elvis was recording a lot of different tracks in a short space of time, he had a two week recording session and recorded about 30 tracks. take this recording of Bridge over troubled water it just doesn't work very well including Elvis's vocal but when he took it live everything had been improved and it's a masterpiece he had been singing it differently and bit were different in the arrangement.
