You ladies are so beautiful! I take my MCAT in a week and it’s not my first time attempting. Definitely needed this positivity and inspiration to help push me forward these last few days. Much love 💕
Hey ladies! I just graduated with my BS in biology and I have all the Kaplan books for the MCAT but now I’m trying to find time to study and work a full time job😩. I’m going to follow these steps and pray I’ll be ready to take the test within 6 month.
I loved this video! I am currently in graduate school getting my MPH and applying for med schools this summer. I appreciate the honesty and realness! I love the energy and great information! New subbie here!
thank you for this! my goal is a 515 min so if im not seeing that on my FL’s (518-518) i have to keep trying! what med school are you all attending? im so excited and ready!
Hey, thanks for the support! And yes, I would highly recommend them. I used examkrackers when I self studied for my MCAT. The books are short and very easy to read while still providing you with the information you need to succeed! I would also buy practice tests well since they are not included. Good luck!
Y'all sisters are so BEAUTIFUL😍😍 Thanks for the advice. I started studying for the MCAT this summer (working and taking classes too). I will be graduating this December and applying in 2019. So I will be taking it hopefully in January (not rushing anymore😩)
Kristen E. We’re done with our MCAT series for now, but we will definitely keep that in mind for future videos! Also, if you have any questions you want to us ask us about this topic, then you can always email or dm us!
Hi! Thank you for the video, it was really helpful :) question, because I’m currently in a rut. My undergrad advisor told me my GPA was too low and that I should switch into another major. They recommended me some non-science majors like Economics or English because my gpa in those are great. What’s your outlook on whether or not your undergrad major is important in getting into medical school? My advisor gave me the impression that if I’m an Econ major, I’d have a greater GPA vs if I stay as a Science major and don’t improve.
Thank you for the support Kayla! We don't believe your undergrad major will affect your chances of getting in. However, your science GPA is very important and by having a strong science GPA you are showing the admissions committee that you're able to do well in your science classes while staying true to your other areas of interest like Econ or English. There is a learning curve that you may face with being a non-science major but you will be able to succeed because there are resources in medical school to help with that. We hope that helps!
Hey guys, I'm using Kaplan as well and it's very stressful. How did you study for the Kaplan exactly? I'm self studying for it, and don't feel confident at all. I was wondering if you had any experience with a different resource and whether you'll recommend a better resource . I'm studying 7 hours for two months and will take the test right after. Is that a good idea?
Hi Daniel! I took the Kaplan course which helped me in approaching the question as well as the steps listed in the video! You can try to use Examcrackers. Jessica found that really helpful when she was studying for the MCAT. Make sure that you are taking enough breaks during your study time because it is easy to get burned out. If you're not applying until next cycle, then don't feel pressured to take the test so soon!
The Chocolate Docs Hey! Which Kaplan course did you take if you don’t mind me asking? I’m thinking about taking the live online bc I have a hard time staying on schedule.
Neither of us are international students, so we're unsure what the next steps are for obtaining a permanent residence. We recommend going to the student affairs at your university for more guidance. Good luck!
niaoni clifton No we didn’t! Jessica took a gap year after she graduated and studied for the MCAT the summer after graduating. And Nneka graduated early and had a 6 month break. We both took the MCAT twice! Hope that answers your question ❤️
Thank u for the advice! i watched before my retake and scored a 510 from a 499 , really motivated me :) 😁
That is an amazing improvement! Congratulations! We're glad our advice helped.
Happyminding i made some videos to explain! Goodluck and feel free to ask me any other questions that u may have!
