I loveee that you actually did a MOCK interview. Everyone's always giving vague tips and this helps so much more! Thank you so much
I know this is a mock interview, but I’m still so jealous how all her answers are perfect.
You all prolly dont care at all but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly lost the account password. I love any tips you can offer me
Mine was only 4 minutes. I already knew these interviewing doctors since the age of yearsof age.
@@beaudwayne3208 uhhh… do the “forgot my password”
This brings me so much comfort especially because it’s black women💞 My interview is next month.
Ikr this makes me cry
How did your interview go?
Hey how did the interview go?
What makes it more nerve wracking is when the interviewer stares at you all the time like in this video
most of the time they will be writing and taking notes while interviewing
Don't be shy or afraid, be confident nobody is your god there, feel like you're the god of your interviewer....
This is very nice! I enjoyed watching this and it gives me something to look back on for future reference! Love it 😊
Thank you! We're so happy you liked it!
The video I didn’t know I needed. Thank you for making this!
S B Thank you for supporting us! So glad that you found it useful!
This video was so original and helpful! I really enjoyed it!!
Thank you so much! We appreciate the love!
You guys made it seem so real and natural...amazing and extremely useful. Thank you so much!
i'm a high school senior and i'm already thinking about and preparing for medical school! very helpful video!!
have fun in general chemistry and bio this fall
OMG ME TOO!!!!!
The chocolate doc school of medicine, love it! Lol And this was helpful, i have serious anxiety behind preparing responses but i liked the personal connections you made!
When they say tell me about yourself I though my that meant they were interested in your work history.
Wow! I relate so much to the interviewee. I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring too. I’m outdoorsy and Nigerian-American too! Sending y’all love!
Thank you ladies for this video, it was great and will help me in my interview process! Both of you did great and I wish you the best in your path to be a physicians. I'm currently a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant attending college at ODU and I'm a Biochem major minoring in Mathematics with a concentration in pre-med!
No problem love! Thank you so much for your support! If you need advice along this journey, don't hesitate to reach out.
This was so helpful for me. I was thinking about it like I'm interviewing with the school. I kept hearing advice like, "think of it like a conversation" and "Make it personal, try to connect" and it didn't click for me until now. I think you showed really well that you're interviewing with the individual. Thanks for this amazing video!
Wow. This is amazing! Those questions asked to the faculty are really good. I wish I saw this video before my medical school interview.
Marie Wisa Beauge Thanks love! We hope your interview went well ❤️
@@TheChocolateDocs Yes, thankfully it did. I've been admitted and will matriculate soon.
Marie Wisa Beauge That’s awesome! Congrats on your accomplishment!
ive never seen the academic vs clinical medicine question!
I love how educational and FUN these videos are!🎀
Da'Shira Brown Aww thanks so much for the support love! 💕
Me watching this while I am in the waiting room of my med school interview😂😂😂💟
Oh my, how did it go? I have mine the day after tomorrow :]
@@utahimeiori8739 It went pretty well! The interviewers were pretty welcoming! I would say don't try to script your answers too much cause I fell into that trap. Be natural and conversational, and don't forget to show lots of enthusiasm. I am sure you will rock it!!! Best of luck!
i'm not a medical student but i am a future physical therapy student preparing for her interview. looking at this mock interview has helped! thank you ladies
Keddy Wairimu So glad we could help!
Omg same I love this community
Just curious, can we really be that happy during the interview? I mean it is good to be confident but should we also be a bit serious?
Be yourself but also read the room. If your interviewer is coming off as someone who's receptive to enthusiasm ( most people are ) then you should do that. If you it doesn't come naturally to you, don't force it, people don't respond well to inauthenticity. At the end of the day, the interviews are with people so think about what people like and how people respond.
Good question
I was cracking jokes during my interview. Worked out for me
Haha i probably am if i make a mistake nd laught at my own mistake😂
This was super helpful!! Thank you !
Thank you so much for making this video. I have my first med school interview next week and feel so grateful to have found this.
Good luck Connie! You can do this, girl!
I watched this years ago and I’m back again today, and I had to pause it three minutes in, and let you guys know I absolutely honor the both of you for such a great video, it’s absolutely amazing thus far, esp in comparison to what I’ve watched before. Thank you!
Have my first medical interview in two weeks. This will definitely be a top resource!
the questions for the interviewer just came in clutch right before my zoom interview!! thank yall so much!!
thanks! very applicable to job interviews as well!
I really feel like interviews are my weak subject, I plan to take a lot of leadership and speech classes in college to make me more comfortable in a professional setting so that I can think clearly enough to answer the questions in the best way possible.
My interview at UCLA - David Geffen School of Medicine was only 4 minutes. My mother worked and managed 3 Neuroscientist for the Department of Neurosurgery at Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center for the past 15 years. Its all who you know. And that is what go me in. But this was back in 2008. I am a Anesthesiologist now.
Seeing the chocolate docs made me subscribe IMMEDIATELY
Thank you so much for these videos. You do not understand how much they are helping.
We're so glad they're helping!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! You two are really inspiring, and I look forward to my medical calling. Can I ask what school you got accepted to?
I have my first interview coming up in October, and this was incredibly helpful, thank you so much! Quick question: were y'all ever asked about healthcare policy in any of your interviews? I feel like I know a little bit about the bureaucratic side of medicine, but i'm not confident in my ability to talk at length on that subject. Any tips, or resources?
Thanks so much for the support and congrats on your interviews! That is so exciting! In regards to your question, I actually wasn't asked any questions about healthcare policy. Nneka was asked about universal healthcare, but gave a pretty basic response. However, to be prepared, I would just familiarize yourself with a few basic facts and general understanding of our healthcare system. We don't have any specific websites or articles to refer you to, but you can just google and find what you need. Hope that helps and good luck on the interview trail!
@Vivek single though?
I have my interview tomorrow! Thank you so much for this!!!
Wonderful video, ladies! Thanks so much for posting this ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this helpful video!! Do you have any advice for zoom interviews? I feel like interviewing this cycle may be so much more awkward because it’s hard to get a feel for the environment and body language over zoom :///
Having a black skin color is not ur fault. The important thing is the purity and sincerity of ur soul ❤
What is academic medicine? I just want to make sure my idea of it is correct.
We gotta teach you to swim ASAP! And thank you for the video 🙏
thnk you for this great video loves. I have an interview this Thursday and will be using these tips
great mock interview! thank you! one question; do interviewers typically want an example of something to "back up" what you're saying is, for instance, a strength or weakness?
This helped me soooo much. Thank you!
I’m gonna die. I have my first interview on Friday and have like 6 days to get ready 😭😭
the kaytranada instantly made me subscribe!!💓

Wow! Thank you this was such a helpful video. Do you usually get to know ahead of time whether it is a blind interview or not?
Diva walk thanks for the support! We’re glad you enjoyed it! And no, they don’t tell you beforehand if it’s a blind interview or not. You can just pick up on it during the interview or the interviewer may tell you.
Love this video
Your channel name made me smile.

Hello Chocolate Docs! I have an interview coming up in a couple weeks. Is it appropriate for one of the questions I ask them at the end of the interview when they ask me if I have any questions to be about housing? I could reword it as "how do you like living here? " I understand that there's a whole department for housing questions ... what do you guys think?
Congrats on getting an interview! It definitely is appropriate especially if you're interviewing at a place that you're not familiar with. You deserve to get opinions from various people. Of course, have 2 or 3 other questions prepared as well. Good luck!
Oooh this is great too see! Thanks ladies✨
Glad you enjoyed it love!
Very helpful videos! Been trying to get good scores on my UK entrance exams (GAMSAT/UKCAT) for years so I can hit interview stage, so these videos definitely help a lot. I was wondering if interviewers would potentially question why it took me as long as it has to finally get to interview stages, and if so, would they be discouraged if it was partly due to my entrance exam results not being high enough? I also have done other degrees over the years to build my resume so I would definitely state those as the main reason.
Hi! Once you get to the interview stage, the interviewers want to get to know YOU! They've already seen your scores and experience and they liked you enough to invite you for an interview! So be honest and and be yourself. Good luck!
@@TheChocolateDocs Thank you! That's good to hear, it had been on my mind for a while haha. God bless
I was told not to crack any jokes 😭😭 thank you for this video!!
Don’t go into the interview trying to be a comedian just be yourself!
very helpful! thank you
That's what we're here for. Thanks for the support!
THANK YOU!
I cave my mock interview tomorrow
Im not ready😩
I'm sure you were amazing and gave it your all!
Araceli Juarez any update?
Anyways it went good but for my externship interview wasn't what I expected 😂
They just told me about the facility and when I am able to start, and how I'll be able to get there.
I’ll probably sound stupid but what do you mean clinical or academic
Edit: does clinical mean not teaching and academic mean teaching
I think by clinical they mean hands on learning from hospitals and academic is like lectures
Does this also works for Carmel, or only for chocolates 🍫?
How long is the interview ???
The length of time you're interviewed varies by person and by school. Some interviews last 30 minutes while others are an hour long.
Damn wish I could hear better
Is it okay to be that friendly with the interviewer!!!
Of course! The most important thing is to be yourself!
The Chocolate Docs ||| I did my interview but I wasn't that friendly but I made him laugh just a bit
Don’t interviewers dock you points for saying umm or uhh a lot. I know this a practice video but that’s something I noticed.
While yes, you should avoid that, that's not a set in stone rule. Interviewers are people and there are variations among people. You should note that only 7% of communication is verbal. 38% is tone. 55% is non-verbal like your body language. Your tone and non-verbal communication will fulfill the most important aspect of your interview: making you seem personable. Being personable is key to any interview. Many questions are just meant to keep you talking so they can get a feel of you. When you hang out with friends, are you going to remember everything that was said, word for word? If your friend is going through a hard time, how are you more likely to find out? Are they going to tell you or do you feel something is off about them?
Watch the video again, on mute, and tell me the feeling you get off of her.
Naya one more thing. While saying “um” can you, if you lack pauses you can come off as a robot/rehearsed, which is equally, if not more damaging. That being said, I say it’s better to don’t be afraid to pause mid sentence if you can’t get your thoughts in order as oppose to “um” “you know” and other filler words.
I don’t really think skin color is a disadvantage. This interview REALLY emphasizes this instead of playing on your personal strengths, which I know you have. I was really REALLY annoyed by this.
Skin color is a disadvatange especially if the entire panel are caucasians. They expect more of black people, so with black applicants they need to show out with gpas and a great interview.
The interviewer should stand up and greet the candidate, firm handshake and the interviewer was saying "um" to often. This is a poor interview sample.
Yea, I agree. The um is too much
I love this, and it's very helpful. Thanks so much!!
