      It's ironic 2 of the best episodes of The Legend Of Korra aren't even about Korra. Also, some fans believe that the old woman healing Korra is actually Azula.

    Fun fact: the original creators wanted to tell this story in the original series with Aang but could never find the right time to include it in the story. Since Aang was already very in tune with his spirituality, I thought it was perfect that Korra was the one to go on this journey. And I love the stylistic art choice of Wan's story.

      That makes sense, it would help give more context to the lion turtle that appears at the end of the series, and it would make him empowering Aang in the final battle not seem like such a random thing.

    What I love about Kya is that despite not being an Airbender she’s the most spiritual out of her siblings. Tenzin is a lot like Katara and can be stubborn at times 🤣

      @@kcirtapelyk6060 Tenzin reminded me of Katara at least when he would argue with Korra bc it was a lot like when Toph joined team avatar lol.

    Fun fact: The Avatar cycle happens in the order that Wan mastered the elements.
    Fire, Air, Water, Earth.
    And it is forbidden to forget that him originally belonged to the tribe that bends the fire, having in context the previous series where they were the antagonists.

    Wan's story is one of my favorite bite of episodes in the entier series. I love when shows that have thousands upon thousands of years in their in universe history, going back to show a good chunk of that lore is my favorite thing.

    I love how well the fire sages took care of Korra. Even going as far as putting her in healing water, which is their opposite element. It shows how much they changed since the war. Their hope and care for the avatar returned as the years passed.

      No it doesn’t, it just carries on . I like how s2 is not afraid to kill its darlings and not depend on it , unfortunately this main issue is there is not enough episodes and it’s telling a lot of different stories, but nick really messed them over by never being straight with them changing budget , telling them they are green lit for another season then originally thinking they would not

    i told you Tim, it gets so good here, Avatar Wan was so good, & the Spirit he met & first attacked before later befriending, the Spirit who always called Wan "Stinky", that Spirit was hilarious, love that guy, & Korra fighting Unalaq & vaatu & then UnaVaatu while in the Avatar State, the lines "I'm locking you away for another 10,000 years Vaatu." & "You cannot win." the second of which she said after hearing Raava, those were so good, basically i think these eps are my fav part of the whole show, cause of Wan & that Spirit friend of his & Korra being so badass & everything. There is 1 other fight that kinda is a competitor for my fav moment from this show as well but i love these eps sm & you'll see that other scene & fight later Tim

    There is no good and evil. There is only light and darkness. The world will be thrown out of balance if darkness ceases to exist just as much as it would if lightness ceased to exist. That is the philosophy of Yin and Yang. ☯️

    With Korra in amnesia-town it's time to go back to the beginning, so far back even that the whole prior backstory on bending is retconned. Make no mistake, the story of Wan, the first Avatar, is still very good and it was a decent idea to incorporate Lion Turtles more, but it does slightly undermine the animals that were known as the 'first benders' were actually not the first (more they are the first to use it as a form) and the power was given to them by lion turtles instead. Still, Wan's story opens insight onto Unalaq's plan, to use Harmonic Convergence to release the supreme spirit of darkness, Vaatu, and as a result destroy the spirit of light, Raava, aka the Avatar spirit.
    Fun Fact: in ATLA there's a scene where Zuko passes through a battlefield that looks just like the one Wan dies in.
    Korra isn't the only one getting some spiritual help, it seems Jinora can also see the spirits, which comes in handy since Korra needs to enter the spirit world, and Tenzin - despite his pride - cannot. Meanwhile Mako is being framed due to Varrick sensing how close he is to the truth, and learning how he's unable to bribe him.

    • @vetarlittorf1807
      @vetarlittorf1807 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't retcon anything. The Lion Turtles only gave the elements, they didn't teach bending.

    • @dannybob42
      @dannybob42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vetarlittorf1807 humans bended before they learned from the 'first benders' so yeah it is a retcon, since they didn't learn bending from them, just the forms used to enhance it

    • @vetarlittorf1807
      @vetarlittorf1807 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dannybob42 No they didn't. They just arbitrarily manipulated the elements without any skill or discipline. Bending isn't a power, it's a skill that people who wield the elements can learn.
      What do you think the point was to show Wan learning firebending from a dragon and the hunters reacting to it like they've never seen anything like it?

    • @dannybob42
      @dannybob42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vetarlittorf1807 Wan learning from the dragon is learning the _FORM_ but Wan isn't learning firebending from the dragon, he already knows how to bend fire, therefore the dragon cannot be the first firebenders, additionally the Lion Turtles already demonstrate form of their own elements, so they would've been benders before them.
      The tale of Omashu also has Oma and Shu learn Earthbending from badgermoles as the first human Earthbenders, but we see Wan earthbend from getting it from a lion turtle city of earthbenders, so that is still a retcon since the statement that 'Dragons/Air Bison/Badgermoles are the first benders' is now untrue, since it's the Lion turtles who are the actual first benders; they just did it in the cheap 'from a certain point of view' way

    • @vetarlittorf1807
      @vetarlittorf1807 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dannybob42 "but Wan isn't learning firebending from the dragon"
      Yes he is.
      "he already knows how to bend fire"
      No he doesn't. All he knew was how to create fire, he didn't know how to bend it until he learned from the dragon.
      "additionally the Lion Turtles already demonstrate form of their own elements, so they would've been benders before them."
      Ummm...no? We never see the Lion Turtles bend the elements, we only see them bestow the elements to people.
      "The tale of Omashu also has Oma and Shu learn Earthbending from badgermoles as the first human Earthbenders,"
      We don't know if that is true or not. All we know is that Oma and Shu might have existed, but for all we know their story is just a bedtime story.
      "but we see Wan earthbend from getting it from a lion turtle city of earthbenders"
      There were no earthbenders in that city. There were only a few people who got to use the power of earth once in a while but had it removed when they returned to the city. And they didn't bend earth. Like I said, bending is a skill, not a power. There's a reason why nobody during Wan's era knows what bending is.
      "so that is still a retcon since the statement that 'Dragons/Air Bison/Badgermoles are the first benders' is now untrue, since it's the Lion turtles who are the actual first benders"
      Again, no. We never see the Lion Turtles bend the elements. They simply gave people the elements and after the Age of the Avatar began, people eventually learned to bend the elements from the original benders.
