One thing I find annoying is when strangers feel entitled to your time. Like some of the girls just didn't want to go. They weren't obligated to nor did they owe a bunch of random strangers a view of them at this reunion. They just want to move on and keep living their life and the fact that people make comments like "You should have still gone," is utterly ridiculous to me. Mind blowing!
I kinda didn't like the way Kalani was saying everyone SHOULD have gone. The girls were traumatized by the show they shouldn’t have to go to the reunion. They moved on want to be they’re own person and not just be known for being on dance moms
Honestly the fact that people are so upset thinking that Maddie, Kenzie, and Nia should've been there regardless of how they felt is pretty disgusting. I get it, we would love to see all the girls together again and talking. But they also suffered very real trauma from the whole production of the show. It's unfair to expect them to put their mental health aside for anyone else's own gratification. None of those girls owes anyone anything and it's awful for people to think that just because they watched them that they "deserve" to see them in the reunion too. In the end, the girls made the decisions that were best for them. You can be sad, but no one has the right to tell them what they should've done because that's their experience and their trauma. And I'm so glad that each of them seems to have done what they needed to do for themselves, and I'm happy that pre-reunion taping they seemed to have a good time amongst themselves privately because that's what matters most. 💙
I absolutely hate it when she tries to talk for the other girls , she was only on the show for 2 years and she knew what she was getting into unlike the others
anyone who watched dance moms KNOWS abby lee miller is emotionally abusive to children. she damaged those kids. Kalani and JoJo (who still has a relationship w abby) came wayyy later to abby's dance studio and lacked that brainwashed quality the OG girls had. girls like maddy, mckenzie, and nia started dancing with Abby when they were literal toddlers. they deserve to have their boundaries respected.
Abby wasn't abusive and the producers from lifetime production company literally manipulated everyone on the cast and would make them fight with each other and have them cause drama with each other just so they could get ratings for TV
@@bobbieellceyyes she was. Even Melissa said that Abby became mean from the show?💀abby may have being influenced from the producers but she’s her own person. She didn’t HAVE to scream at them that much. She didn’t HAVE to make fun of Chloe’s eye, or cause Paige to have panic attacks. She chose to do those things. And then her pretty much grooming maddie too is abuse. So don’t defend her you freak

Too many of y’all non black people aren’t realizing that they all went through similar traumas but Nia’s was the worst because there was an added layer thrown onto her trauma: racism. being the only black girl, the token one. Dealing with it from the people on her team & their mom’s. For example, microaggressions & just ignorance like when Jill thought Kendall should be Rosa Parks over Nia…stuff like that & so much we didn’t see. Super triggering & a horrible realization to realize you were the token black girl for a tv show & friend group.
UM non-black person, need context on the Jill saying Kendall should be Rosa Parks because I am *concerned.* WTF went down to make her say that??? Also, definitely agree Nia suffered particularly the worst. I remember watching her on the show, and people were gushing all over Kendall when she got her first music video made, while Nia got pushed to the side (at least from my standpoint).
@@thecuriousfeline6265i’m pretty sure that whole thing with Jill wanting Kendall to be Rosa Parks was pushed by producers but it’s still so weird and disrespectful and if i was Jill i would flat out refuse to even do that like wtf
Also I feel like nias experience was way different than the other girls there too. Many made a lot of racist remarks towards Nia on the show! Nia had every right to not be there!
I don’t understand the people thinking Maddie, Kenzie and Nia are being entitled. Maddie & Kenz definitely have opened up about how the show was traumatized them. And Nia was treated so poorly and bad on show, why’d she go? Just like Kenz said, they don’t want to go back in time, especially since that time wasn’t good!
None of them are required to go. Also if they werent invited, then they couldnt have gone anyway. Nia and Kenndal have spoken on how they feel about the show and the lasting impact its had on them. Im just happy that the girls have kept in somewhat contact with each other and are doing good for themselves.
It was FUCKING TRAUMATIC for these girls. Good on the girls who did the reunion and felt comfortable but also good on the ones who DIDN'T and put their health first
I think she’s talking about her platform because they are all relatively known and have large social media followings. Which is kind of true. They only have that because of who they are from the show.
YES. I don't know how more people don't realise this. Fuck a contract, if your kids are being traumatised, missing school, etc. isn't your kid worth more than contract complications?? There are plenty of outlets for young girls to dance without being on a harmful reality tv show. The moms enabled Abby by continuing to sign that damn contract.
They really did and it’s sick. And when you realize they gave up their children’s education and childhood and the show didn’t even pay them that much. If i’m not mistaken the girls only got around 1k for the whole first season.
Exactly! Those moms wanted the fame, money, and the rest of the perks that come along with being well known tv personalities. I have no great love for Abby, but she was playing her part for $$$, no matter who the kids were. All responsibility falls on the greedy ass mothers, for messing up their kids heads.
i think it’s also important to talk about how both camryn and brynn aren’t there either. you can say this was just for the ogs but kalani and jojo aren’t ogs. and camryn and brynn were members of the team. now granted they both had a bad falling out with the girls but still it’s important to note.
We need to ask ourselves these questions! And why they didn’t invite some of the guest girls like asia, sophia, ava, sarah etc. Even the mini girls should be there. Lilly and Ellie were on the show longer than jojo 😭
@@cathym4138 camryn wasn’t invited to be apart of the irreplaceables tour despite being apart of the irreplaceables and i think she had a fall out with byrnn not 100% sure. brynn was constantly receiving attacks from jojos mom for no reason and i’m not 100% sure she’s close with the other girls.
It’s so understandable why some girls weren’t there I don’t understand why the internet has to keep up these conspiracies and be so mean to young women and just people in general
@@cuterosiethebeagle1493She said that the ones who aren't here are just thinking oh let me throw away my past, shove it down the drain and pretend it never happened (which was indirectly said to nia, Maddie and Kenzie)
Maddie and mackenzie have tried so hard to break out of the “reality tv “ mold for their careers , and I feels like they’re succeeding, why wanna go back and they worked hard to get over the level of trauma they had , it’s perfectly understandable why they wouldn’t wanna go back , not due to the other girls but out of self care
Honestly after the drama that happened in season 7 with her liking a comment about the OGs looking like hookers and 3 of their moms bullying her online I’m not surprised she wasn’t invited and I feel like if she and her mom were invited they’d straight up say no and I’m pretty sure that the only girl she keeps in contact with is Kenzie
These girls were thrown into reality tv SO YOUNG. And if you watch interviews from Abby it was supposed to be a one season deal, they never expected it to grow to what it became. They are young adults now and probably just want to move on with their lives. People should let them
I just don't understand how people would feel so entitled on other people's relationship and what they should do. Even if all the girls have beef with each other, it's their own problem and they can solve it within themself. It baffles me that people would be mad at Maddie, Mackenzie, and Nia because of just not attending a reunion show... some people don't attend reunion and others are fine with it. Not to mention, they probably just don't want to relive the mental trauma and exhaustion from getting compared, shouted at, constantly filmed when they are a CHILD. While the reunion itself might be fine and fun, the feeling of association to their past is still there. Trauma doesn't go away on it's own nor quickly. Do people feels entitled to their feelings and actions just because they witness them growing up? if so, i found it even more weird because in the end, they are now GROWN UP and a STRANGER that we saw on the internet.
The show exploited those children in order to make money. I don't think the girls owe them anything, including gratefulness, because they might have a career now. Not saying they shouldn't feel grateful though, but I would understand if some of them didn't.
I think what we need to ask ourselves in order to understand why they didn’t go is, if we were to be invited to a reunion to “reminisce” on a time that was a source of trauma for us would we go? I know I wouldn’t go to a high school reunion as I was bullied and it’s not something I want to talk about as if it were a fond memory when it wasn’t.
8:47 Abbie freaking HATED Jojo and seriously verbally abused her. The fact that JoJo still talks to her is disgusting. JoJo doesn’t have a good judge of character. She defends and still hangs out with Colleen Ballinger aka Miranda Sings. 🤢
It would have been amazing to have all the girls attend the reunion, however it’s their decision if they attend or not and nobody should be upset about that. Child stars go through A LOT, lots of PTSD and trauma they come across that really affects them for the rest of their lives. A lot of kids dream to be a child star but they don’t know what goes on behind the scenes including adults and viewers like us. Glad Abby wasn’t there, fights and arguments would have erupted and the girls would have further gone through more trauma.
I honestly want to see more of a good quality documentary than a reunion because I think some of the issues with the show are a lot deeper. I think holly and maddie and mckenzie need to be given a more serious platform like this to talk about everything.
So many major reunions have left out huge characters. The new iCarly, Fuller House, Raven's Home, etc. I mean, even The Cheetah Girls lost Raven for the last movie and tons of their music, The Lizzie McGuire Movie totally left out Miranda, I could go on and on. You can't force people, especially entertainers you claim to care about, to join a project they don't want to. Thinking otherwise is weird and parasocial tbh.
Theirs no way in hell maddie or kenzie would've attended after the fact Abby went onto podcast and confirmed Melissa (Maddie&Kenzie's mom) use to pick up maddie from school to learn her privates/dance routine ahead of time compared to the rest of the girls. This would leave many windows open for outsiders to ask about that, mainly because everyone knew that but they kept denying it and Abby took it a step further by degrading the girls and telling them to learn faster like maddie despite it was only because her mom took her out of school early and then brought her back to school after learning her routines ahead of time.
@@ZionDoesMakeup Kendall liked a comment that someone posted on the pic of the reunion that said “meanwhile Maddie and Kenzie think they’re too good for the reunion”. @user-cv1vb4pb9o how about being pressured to carry the team and thinking if you don't win you're a failure? That's what she went through. I think she and kenzie are smart to not go because being parts of other things like songs and american eagle, they wouldn't want to go back to a reality show

I don’t understand why Brynn and the minis, we’re not invited they came in s6 and were there until the end. Jojo came less than a year before Brynn and Kalani as well so if they were invited I don’t know why the others couldn’t.
Brynn could’ve been invited, but the minis were too young and probably didn’t have a relationship with the older girls. The only two that would make sense to invite would’ve been Lily and Ellie.
The minis have a big age gap between them and the OG older girls we recognize, most of the OGs are like 21+ while Ellie is 16, and there seems there's drinking involved sooo
Idk why ppl are surprised some of the girls didn't go when they've always been clear they want nothing to do with anything Abby or dance mom related. I was actually surprised most of the girls went to the reunion bc Chloe, Paige, Brooke and their moms were always treated so poorly
Abby wasn't even there because she was doing her UK tour and Abby doesn't want anything to do with lifetime production company anymore after what they did to her
I knew Abby definitely wasn’t there from the get-go because she’s been in the UK the past few weeks for her tour, and I saw her last week for her show and q and a. Unless they were to have a separate interview with her, it wouldn’t be with the girls because she’s still in the UK. Kalani and Jojo keep in touch with Abby, and Kalani was on Abby’s podcast 2 weeks ago
Those girls gave their whole childhood for the show and our entertainment - which was clearly very toxic and traumatizing for some of them. If they don’t want to do the reunion they don’t have to
They’re literally traumatized. Maddie was forced to be ‘the perfect one’ and Kenzie was always shown as ‘the cry baby’. The deserve the right to move on. Every single girl who had to deal with Abby should get therapy from that time in their lives. Maddy and Kenzie’s mom even apologized to them for putting them through that. Let them move on. If the girls who went got closure from it, great. But not everyone needs to confront something again and again to get closure. They also don’t owe anyone a ‘thanks’ or to ‘pay respect’. That’s just gross.
I don’t understand people assuming that the girls that didn’t attend think they’re “too good” for it. Like did y’all not watch the show? I sure as heck wouldn’t want to go. I’d wanna put it behind me. I’m sure they do too. They’re not obligated to go to the reunion nor do they owe anyone.
considering how many times, Joe Joe has a negated the experience of trauma from some of the girls by constantly saying, they should be grateful. I’m very annoyed that she’s there. What she fails to understand is majority of the abuse Paige, Brooke, Niah, and Chloe even the Zieglers endured was over by the time she got there so she has no right to speak on their experience but then again, she’s the type of person to sides with abusers and questionable people anyway. I have zero interest in seeing her segments on the reunion.
Y’all REALLY need to understand that show you enjoyed watching was a show filled with children being yelled at, made fun of, manipulated, and mistreated with a narcissist for a teacher. That show was overall terrible and was such a dark place. So I’m glad they want to leave what’s in the past, in the past.
Did anyone think that maybe it might be a little bit traumatic for some people? Geez it’s kind of gross how entitled the public can get over celebrities. 🚩🚩🚩
Lets just show that the parents were blameless. For putting their children through that. Put it to rest if you want to move on. To heal you need to let it go and move on.
Why are people upset if some chose not to go? They owe no explanation or apology. If they don’t want to go they don’t have to go. Would YOU want to attend a reunion from a bad period in your life?
The viewers are the ones being messy here always assuming the worst instead of just being happy for the dancers that decided to participate and equally happy for the ones that declined. The dancers that are there wanted to be there to share their stories and get closure and the ones that declined clearly don’t want to relive it so respect it and just enjoy what’s to come.
I remember watching this show a long time ago. Didn't see all the episodes, but I remember some episodes. Felt real sorry for the girls and the stress they enduree, and to an extent I felt bad for the moms. From what I recall reading somewhere, the producers deliberately encouraged the negative behavior of the moms for entertainment value, so I'm sure that played a huge factor. And as for Abby, I just can't see any good in her because of her sour, very crushing attitude. It was just painful to see.
No they didn't the producers deliberately manipulated everyone on the cast to cause drama and fights just for ratings for TV and the producers would listen into their conversations the mom's would have with their friends and family until they all figure out how to turn their mics off so the producers couldn't hear anything
it sucks that kenzie and maddie weren’t there but i agree that considering the fact that maddie won’t even say abby’s name it’s not surprising in the least. i am disappointed and a bit surprised about nia tho..i feel like historically holly and nia have always taken opportunities like this to clear the air and also get some closure, and i’m kinda surprised they didn’t and i hope they say something about it :(
Im not sure why people are suprised about Nia, she backed out of the tour she was meant to do with kalani, chloe and kendall a few years ago. She had to endure microaggressions on top of being painted as the worst dancer and being excluded from everything during her music era, she admitted to crying every single night. People deal with trauma differently and I guess she was over the show
@visualroses8900 she backed out of the tour because she booked a recurring role on The Bold and the Beautiful. But I agree with the rest of your points
Like, I'm sure that the show was a contributing factor to some of the girls' overall success, but it wasn't the ONLY thing that has been impactful or made them successful. If it was the single source of success then they would all be basically equal in their successes and they're not. There are MANY things that CONTRIBUTE to success. And there are many experiences that make us who we are. Of course it's good to remember and reflect, but it can be sometimes healthier also to grow and move on from some experiences. Also, if I'm being really honest...it almost feels like the girls who went are the ones who want to relive their glory days, like the time in their life where they felt they were the most famous (except for maybe Jojo).
I understand why they didn’t go but I do think they talk about how the show affected them afterwards so I guess we all know the aftermath anyways. It definitely would’ve been nice to see them but I mean we literally know everything about what they are doing now
Mckensie and Nia had the worst respect from everyone. It made me sick that Kensie was so young and her mom would tell Maddie right in front of her ...Your my best friend" over and over. I respect Maddie for not responding to her mom at that time right in front of Kensie. I felt so sad for Kensie and Nia through all the seasons. I still watch them now, on Dance Moms Channel. I just want the best for Mckensie, Maddie, Nia and the rest of the girls. They were so abused on TV by Abby and so many others. I hope Melissa realizes how she hurt Kensie. This is no fault of Maddie's. Maddie knew it was happening to her and i could tell when she was so uncomfortable when Kensie was put down by Abby. Abby is a true live evil Witch!
These young girls can finally make their own mind up as to whether they want to be on a show... and now people are upset about it... They never had a choice as kids. Let them have this
The ones that went they handled it, they were fine but those who didn't had their own reason and they dealt with it themselves. They did all get together one night before it was filmed and had a wonderful time. You never stop caring for your friends they haven't.❤

Good for Maddie for not going . Those grown ass moms treated her disgusting. They were jealous for their daughters so they bullied/traumatized a little girl . The moms were just as bad as Abby ! F em all
They celebrated Paige's birthday..The Reunion was a separate thing. Maddie seems to be processing things now. I think getting her friends back is what matters. The friends that Abby took away from her.
They got their childhood’s stolen without their consent and they feel obligated to thank the show producers but then saying they wanted to do it for closure? 5:096:05 I feel so bad for them, this feels very reminiscent of the effects of a traumatic childhood IMO - the conflicting feelings. Can I also say- all these girls saying this show got them everything they have today. And that’s true, financially and through fame. But none of them know what their lives would have been otherwise - ya know, If they actually got to have childhoods
they literally all keep in contact (the girls). a reunion isn’t mandatory and those girls don’t owe anyone anything 😂. it’s a show that is obviously iconic and let’s be real, never not going to be BUT the show is in the PAST. these girls were children when going thru some rough shit so if they don’t feel like going back for a reunion, that’s okay. Abby had proved multiple times on interviews that’s she’s mad asf that the girls don’t like her 😂. she talks so much shit as a grown old ass woman so yeah.. no shit that they don’t want any part of it. they know where they came from but they don’t owe people shit. end of story.
I respect the decision but I’m a little bit surprised that Nia didn’t attend. Like she’s always spoken very neutrally and peacefully about the show and that time. But also I get that she’s sorta moved on with life and not wanting to go back to that
I don't even know why is JoJo is shading them tbh! it's not Maddie and Mackenzie's fault for not showing up because they choose not to be at the reunion at all. And, neither is Nia's because college is more important!
Abbey used to be fun cause she'd pile 11 girls into her hummer and take them to the dollar store for candy!!?? Dont know if that's how I'd describe dangerous, illegal and cheap. 🤷
i think all 3 of them didn't attend for 2 reasons, they don't want to be associated or talk about dance momns, and kalani/kendall supported trump and I remember nia talking against this as kalani made a insensitive post.
Maddie, Mackenzie, and Nia basically chose peace and I love that for them.

I never forget Nia Mom said " I work , I have classes , I am not a housewife who has time on my hands, Dance is my daughter thing and she loves it that is the only reason I keep paying your fees because my daughter loves dancing and makes her happy, I have seen the growth or my daughter confidence, I do not live through my daughter"...I have to remind you this was season 1 or 2

There are plenty of outlets for young girls to dance without being on a harmful reality tv show. The moms enabled Abby by continuing to sign that damn contract.

These girls were thrown into reality tv SO YOUNG. And if you watch interviews from Abby it was supposed to be a one season deal, they never expected it to grow to what it became. They are young adults now and probably just want to move on with their lives. People should let them
Nia is one of the most down to earth young ladies. She would never feel she was too good or better than anyone else. (IMO)
Not saying they shouldn't feel grateful though, but I would understand if some of them didn't.
i could NEVER judge nia, kenzie and maddie for choosing their peace
Not ppl being mad at the black cast member who was tormented and disrespected all 7 seasons for NOT coming. 🤡🤡🤡
The one that stayed the longest too.
And Maddie spent a lot of time around fucking Sia. Let's not shame people for being groomed by disgusting adults while they were kids
That would be fantastic
I’m Soo surprised Kelly and Brooke & Paige still went! And Chloe and Christy!

Abby wasn't even there because she was doing her UK tour and Abby doesn't want anything to do with lifetime production company anymore after what they did to her
Maddie has been slamming dance moms for years after. It's no surprise they're not going.
If they don’t want to do the reunion they don’t have to
Gee, I wonder why people who find that time of their lives traumatic might not want to go back to that place. How is that hard to figure out?
It makes me sad to hear the girls feel like they need to be appreciative for an abusive experience.

Absolutely no a victim should not be forced to relive their emotional and psychological abuse. That is absurd .
Thank you for still posting like you were prior to the face reveal lol
No they didn't the producers deliberately manipulated everyone on the cast to cause drama and fights just for ratings for TV and the producers would listen into their conversations the mom's would have with their friends and family until they all figure out how to turn their mics off so the producers couldn't hear anything
it sucks that kenzie and maddie weren’t there but i agree that considering the fact that maddie won’t even say abby’s name it’s not surprising in the least. i am disappointed and a bit surprised about nia tho..i feel like historically holly and nia have always taken opportunities like this to clear the air and also get some closure, and i’m kinda surprised they didn’t and i hope they say something about it :(
Maybe they already have their closure and don't need to open everthing back up.
closure is not going to a taping of the reunion of a show where you faced racism and microagressions season after season
Im not sure why people are suprised about Nia, she backed out of the tour she was meant to do with kalani, chloe and kendall a few years ago. She had to endure microaggressions on top of being painted as the worst dancer and being excluded from everything during her music era, she admitted to crying every single night. People deal with trauma differently and I guess she was over the show
@trainingmansbestfriend7903 These are my exact sentiments about it. You summed it up perfectly.
@visualroses8900 she backed out of the tour because she booked a recurring role on The Bold and the Beautiful. But I agree with the rest of your points
I love Nia so much. When she cries on the show I cry. When good things happened to her I was so happy. No one better fuck with her.
OMG so Kalani is ALSO very articulate and the grammar wow! Just shows the lack of education in those years shows in abundance now. 😢
I understand why they didn’t go but I do think they talk about how the show affected them afterwards so I guess we all know the aftermath anyways. It definitely would’ve been nice to see them but I mean we literally know everything about what they are doing now
Mckensie and Nia had the worst respect from everyone. It made me sick that Kensie was so young and her mom would tell Maddie right in front of her
...Your my best friend" over and over.
