    In a credit risk swap is the principal notional? in other words if the company that issued the bond goes under will the Protection seller going to compensate the Protection Buyer?

    • @FinExTraining
      @FinExTraining  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In naked CDS, notional principal is used and so, cash settlement happens.
      In physical settlement, the underlying asset is delivered to the Protection Seller and the Protection Seller will compensate the Protection Buyer.

    Currency swap how to pass the accounting entries for principle amount?

    • @FinExTraining
      @FinExTraining  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Initially: Foreign currency A/c Dr
      To Domestic currency A/c Cr
      At expiry, it will be vice versa.

      @sumyatsandy8197 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FinExTraining yup that is for cash inflow/outflow, how's abt recognition as receivable/payable? as at the maturity date, need to swap back the currencies with nominal rate.

    • @FinExTraining
      @FinExTraining  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sumyatsandy8197 Yes, receivable will also be created as the nominal account and later, knocked off, after receiving the payment.
