I love your videos! Thanks for being consistent in posting weekly. I have my appointment with my surgeon October 3. He will give me my gastric bypass surgery at that time!
in my third week I dumped with very ground turkey. It was approved for my program, but not by my tummy. For me, dumping was my throat got very tight (hurt) and then would relax, then tighten again. This was about 1 hour. Finally I was able to throw up, it was just my body getting the turkey out (not vomiting like I was sick). I won't try turkey again for months. Gun shy is a great way to describe it.
Perhaps try a RTD protein like Premier and add it to hot tea or coffee, or even iced. I would drink three cups of decaf tea/coffee and add about 2.5 oz Protein to the 8 oz drink, it watered it down enough for me to tolerate, I was able to drink a whole shake in a day. Also have you tried the ricotta bake? It was so good, easy to make and tasted so good. And dumping is no joke! You learn really quick to not eat sugars. You are doing great!!!
@@MahoganyBelle There are several recipes out there- it is basically a mixture of Italian spices, egg, ricotta cheese and then layered with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Very good!
I have tried the ricotta bake- yum! I did try that when I was on the liquid diet. I tolerated the FairLife shakes well but just wanted something different. I will try that again!
Try the Promier protein H20 . I can’t handle sweet stuff. I watch closely on getting all my vitamins in daily and staying hydrated. The protein water you can find on Amazon or Walmart. I also seen protein powder that u can mix in anything that has no flavor.
Hi Kaki Congrats on your progress! I’m only on Day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet and so far no hunger. I pray it doesn’t get harder. My dietician recommended Orgain Organic Protein Powder Natural Unsweetened. Question: what makes it so hard to drink water. Do you get full or nauseous? What happens if you force water when you don’t want but need it?
Mahogany Belle- the liquid diet was not that difficult to me. I am sure you will breeze through it! After surgery, in the few days post op, if I drank more than a tiny sip it caused pain in my new stomach. I am sure it is very swollen and the water would just not go in the small opening on top. If I tried to drink water more than that, it bubbled back up.
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 Ok I understand now. You provide such good information. I’ll definitely take it slow. By the time you read this I will have finished Day 2 of my liquid diet. So far it has been ok. I could feel a difference in my body while working my 2nd job tonight in retail. There’s lots of running around and cleaning up during this holiday rush. I felt a slight headache briefly and energy level was up and down. I did notice how quickly the day went by as long as I was busy. That’s going to be key for me-to stay busy so I didn’t spend so much time thinking about the fact that I haven’t eaten😊
Can you try the boost flavourless protein powder I throw that on everything. 🤣 I’m struggling with the protein intake on my 4th week n now introducing more foods kind give my baby cramps 😢 but all good just constipation is killing me lol😅

I worry about low back pain after my surgery. I already have it I guess I need to start stretching now.
Probably would be a good idea 🙂

For those of us who don’t know about the ricotta bake, please tell us more?

Glad you are doing well! I hear ya on the constipation! I have to take a prescription med for it!
Just thinking out loud here…what would adding salt to the protein drinks do? Might it help balance the sweet?
Interesting idea- I may try that!
I'm curious as to your exercise regime?
Hi there! At this point, about 35 weeks post op, I do about 30 minutes of yoga daily. When the weather is cooler, I add a walk with my dog in as well.
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 Thanks so much!
