Great video, I'm immersing into lampworking tutorials before I invest in a torch and kiln. I worked at a glassblowing place in the 90's (The blue bird of happiness from the Ozarks). And I've missed the glass so much and am eager to get back. But building a furnace at my house is crazy thoughts, so flame working is my next idea. Great tutorial full of good info.! It is so different with timing..taking hot glass and working it as it cools compared to taking cold glass and heating. Maybe the creativity is broader with the latter.

Awesome! I imagine a furnace would take more to set up. Personally I feel both the furnace and torch do have their own advantages. Large work can be hard on a torch, but small detail work might be difficult in a furnace. If I could I would have both in my shop.
Watching tutorials is a great way to start. It can also be a way to gauge how interested in it you are. I don't recommend jumping in it on a whim unless your just borrowing some torch time. If there were more torches available for people to try it out I think we would have a lot more glass blowers. Thanks for your comment! :)

Actually very motivating! Just started coil potting! It's easy to have put a lot of time and resources into a project just to make a rookie oops. My favorite is not well sealed punty(punti?) When your peace falls off onto your table or worse yet into your lap. im definitely seeing progress though. First thing I ever successfully made was the glass kunai!

Wow awesome the glass kunai was your first successful project. I'm always happy when people find my work helpful. It's good to be entertaining, but I much rather people walk away learning something useful.
Yea the punty does take practice, especially a cold punty. As a general rule I try not to hover/cross a cold punty attachment over my hands or legs.
Again I'm very happy to hear your making progress and thanks for following along with me on this glass adventure!

I went into some detail about this in my latest video Solid Blow Out. Basically I'm stretched for time at the moment. But If you do get a torch i'll try to help you online.
